What is leaderboarded?
• An online tool to progress a community via a clear leaderboard
– The leaderboard is based on points scoring specific to that community’s values
– E.g. the TechHub noise meter helps startups in Google Campus improve their social media marketing by benchmarking their performance against their peers (http://rded.co/noise)

Gamification in marketing campaigns
• Under the hood– Silent ‘level ups’ which offer more power to the user – eg.
Quora, Lithium
• Simple– Discrete leaderboards – “How fast can you drink a pint of
milk?” and compare with country / friends
• Advanced– Long term leaderboards for a community eg. Gamification

• Gamification describes behaviours and mechanics that are not new, but grouping them altogether is
