Things we will be learning and reviewing the 3 rd 9 weeks of school
Math-We will be learning how to mentally add and subtract up to 20. We are reviewing addition and subtraction word problems with facts up to 20, solving equations to determine the unknown number, place value (tens and ones), and addition and subtraction facts up to 20. We will be comparing numbers using the greater than, less than, and equal to symbols. We will also be learning how to add within 100: mentally adding 10 more or ten less and measuring objects by comparing the lengths.
Phonics/Language Arts-Learning long vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) and reading words with them, reviewing words with the l, s, and r blends (bl, cl, dr, st, sw), digraphs (sh, ch, th, wh), contractions (can’t-can not), singular and plural, blending words into sounds to read, and syllables/word parts. We will also be working reading words with vowel teams such as: ai/ay, ee/ea, oa/oe/ow, ie/igh, and ue/ui/ew. We will also be learning how to use singular and plural nouns with matching verbs and also use verbs in the past, present, and future.
