Solution Development
Tools
Prioritization Matrix
• Is one of the Project Planning Tools which is used during brainstorming to evaluate number of issues based upon certain criteria and arrive at a prioritized list of items.
• This helps determine which problems need to be solved first in order to meet project/ organizational objectives.
• This is particularly useful when there are limited resources available for implementation of a certain activity.
Process Decision Program Chart(PDPC)
• Used to graphically illustrate contingency planning.
• Systematically identifies what might go wrong in a plan under development. Countermeasures are developed to prevent or offset those problems.
• By using PDPC, you can either revise the plan to avoid the problems or be ready with the best response when a problem occurs.
Useful in the following situation:• Implementation of a new or untried plan that has risks involved;
• Implementation of complex plans and the consequences of failure are serious;
• Implementation of a plan with time constraints, when thre is o sufficient time available to deal with contingent problems as they occur.
Tree Diagram• Use to map out detailed group of tasks mask
for implementation and also in a strategic decision making, valuation or probability calculations. The diagram starts at a single node with branches emanating to additional nodes, which represent mutually exclusive decisions or events.
• The tree diagram target was to divide a big problem into a smaller components, to make the problem easier to understand/solve.
