About FNS

Future Nation Schools (FNS) offers affordable and high-quality 21st century education for pre-school, primary school and high school with an enhanced National CAPS curriculum, Project-Based Learning model (PBL) and IEB examination in Grade 12.

Founded in 2017 by Sizwe Nxasana and Dr Judy Dlamini, Future Nation Schools are a network of independent or private schools that aim to lead the African Excellence Revolution through relevant, futuristic, Africa-focused and technology-enabled education – preparing Africa’s youth for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and beyond.

Someday All Schools Will Teach This Way!

Educational Model

Our Pre-school model is outcomes and project based with the national curriculum framework: each part of development of the toddler and pre-school student is centred around language enrichment (English and isiZulu), goals, individual needs, development of ball and co-ordination skills as well as a yoga and wellness through interactive learning labs.

Before primary school, students go through a free school-readiness assessment that measures the following areas: perception, spatial; reasoning; numerical; gestalt; co-ordination; memory and verbal comprehension”

We teach the national curriculum that is integrated with project-based learning (PBL) from primary school level. Our students will write the IEB examinations in Grade 12

We implement Project-Based Learning (PBL) from primary school right through to Grade 12. PBL is a method of teaching in which students gain knowledge and skills by working on projects for an extended period of time where they learn how to question, investigate, research and/or design and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem and/or challenge.

We focus on enhancing leadership and entrepreneurship skills where students learn resilience, self-management, innovation, adaptability, decision making, risk-taking and business acumen.

Computing is taught from Grade 1 to Grade 9. Students learn about programming, robotics and other computing skills. The aim is to prepare them for the exponential growth in technology.

The FNS teaching model emphasises African studies with a specific focus on African literature, arts, crafts, indigenous games, African history and Indigenous Knowledge Systems.

The language of instruction is English. First Additional Languages are isiZulu, Afrikaans and Setswana in selected grades and schools.
