SOMEONE IS ALWAYS WATCHING

When we’re around someone we want to influence for Christ, we often

will be very conscientious in minding our P & Qs in order to be the best

influence possible. But that’s the thing with influence ... we don’t always know

when someone is watching and an impression is being made by our conduct,

words or attitudes.

A preacher got on a bus one day, and he gave the bus driver the fare. The

bus driver gave him too much change in return. The preacher went and sat

down, counted the money, and noted that the bus driver had given him too

much change. So he went back to the bus driver and said, “You gave me

too much change. You gave me fifty cents too much.”

The bus driver said, “Preacher, I really appreciate this, because I was

in your church service yesterday and I heard your sermon on honesty. So I

intentionally gave you too much change to see whether you practice what

you preach.”

The ideal is -- we live the Christian life so conscientiously and so

consistently that we don’t even have to think about if someone is watching or

not. Just do what is right all the time and your influence will take care of itself.

Ashley Lucier’s, the Stanland’s daughter, MRI came back clear for her lower back pain and, therefore, the reason for her pain has not been discovered, though she is now, also, having to recover from Strep. Dorothy Mosby has learned that her upcoming treatments should have a promising outcome. She and Leon are remaining hopeful. Barbara Norris is at home continuing her therapy, but it is painful and slow. She misses her UCC family very much. Therefore, cards, calls and visits would be greatly enjoyed by her at this time.
