Tichbornes Elegy
By Elesha and Sophie
A dark look at life cut short...
My prime of youth is but a frost of cares,
My feast of joy is but a dish of pain;
My crop if corn is but a field of tares,
And all my good is but vain hope of gain.
The day is past, and yet I saw no sun;
And now I live, and now my life is done.
yet it was not toldMy tale was heard
My fruit is fallen yet my leaves are green;
My youth is spent, and yet I am not old
I saw the world , and yet I was not seen.
My thread is cut , and yet it is not spun
And now I live, and now my life is done.
I sought my death, and found it in my womb
I looked for life and saw it was a shade;
I trod the earth, and knew it was my tomb,
NOT
And now I die, and now I was but made.
My glass is full, and now my glass is run;
And now I live, and now my life is done.
The theme of the poem
His life is not over but he has to die
Too young to die
He hasn’t done all the things he planned to in his life
Nothing worthwhile has resulted from his short life
He was doomed even before he was born

Focusing on the main theme of the poem is too young to die and we have found some thing that we thought relate to this and will remind you of the poem when it comes to revision:
The film too young to die starring Brad Pitt
Also the song by Jamiroquai
called too young to die.
Our first impressions of the poem...
