An invitation to join the Year of Volcanic TransformationMaking double efforts for fast self-transformation and volcanic yoga

Dear souls,As you know, Baba has signalled this year as the year for achieving volcanic or intense transformation.  Last year we developed the practice of intense stage of volcanic yoga that can bring deep transformation in the self. This year we will make double efforts by practicing both intense transformation on a daily basis and on the first Sunday of each month having an intense volcanic yoga bhatti. As a year ends, the lokik world starts to review their year by asking what they have achieved and where they have failed. On New Year’s Eve there is a resolution taken for the year. In Brahmin life, rather than once a year, there is celebration in every moment. Our resolution is to be introspective and to follow a clear goal of transformation. In the last murli, Baba said that you should be able to transform yourself in a second. However, this year BapDada doesn’t want us to practice gradual transformation. To follow Baba in this, we need to check ourselves, and ask what has been my transformation up until now. How far have I reached in achieving my aim and object? Most of us have been working gradually on ourselves. We have been transforming our old sanskaras. However, world service rather than self-transformation has become our most powerful subject. Baba now wants us to work on self-transformation. We just need to keep in mind that everything is possible if you have determination to keep on moving. During the Year of Volcanic Transformation, our aim is to work on self-transformation through reflection and self-checking. To make this process intense and to bring newness in myself I must keep the aim to become BapSaman. Become aware of your present image compared with your future image. To bring such deep change and become free of the influence of old sanskaras we have to sit down and reflect on our present stage. This year will involve going through such a deep checking of our efforts so we can see clearly what we want to achieve, and what will require my attention. All these questions must be answered. This can help fulfil Baba’s hope that we will achieve a flying stage and become BapSaman as soon as possible. Such deep transformation is Baba’s desire for us for this year. It involves comparing myself with Brahma Baba to see to what extent I have become

similar. What is the gap? It is this gap that I have to fill with yoga power, attention, determination…. So, I need to start reflection and checking on everything.

We wish you best wishes for the year from Didi Nirmala and the Volcanic Transformation Team

Outline of aims and approach for the year of transformation VT Year 2007-8

Aim: Self-transformation, transformation in the BK family and then world transformation

How: Use the power of the gathering. Create a wave of transformation amongst ourselves (BKs) around the world by having a unity of purpose and making intense efforts using the creative images, ideas, commentaries and powerful slogans from the 2006-7 season’s Murlis and Senior’s classes and commentaries.

Beginning the Year of Volcanic Transformation: A month of Deep Checking of our Chart and AimsThe first month will be a month to check our aims for the New Year. There is a list of questions developed by Didi Nirmala in her class given for this New Year. This will help us to do deep checking of our present stage of transformation and formulate new aims for this coming year of transformation.

Yuktis for the year: 1. download an inspiring image, connected with a powerful slogan from the VT web site2. join the self transformation club3. study amrit vela and yoga bhatti points, commentaries and reflective class material4. use the months image as a screen saver on the computer 5. print the image and slogan and put it up on the bulletin board of the centre6. down load classes and points with the murli batch of that month and print out for study7. have deep yoga first Sunday of every month focused on attaining fiery or volcanic remembrance8. read for inspiration for the bhatti :World Volcano Manual 2006, also on VT web site9. listen during yoga bhatti to yoga commentaries of audio CDs or mp3 available from VT web site10. have daily yoga on volcanic transformation: 4.45 – 5.00 or at the end amrit vela

New Resources: World Volcano Manual 2006 on volcanic remembrance, has some new but mostly last year’s material that have been re-organised and edited. It’s available through NCOs (available on the VT web site).

World Volcano Meditation Commentaries are a new series of audio CDs produced in Madhuban, in 2007. They are a co-operative effort of the sound department and art department of Gyan Sarovar, senior yogis, and the Australian WVB Team. These are for sale in Madhuban or will be available as MP3s for download from the web site, topic wise each month.

New Ideas for this year: Self Transformation Club: A new idea for the year is the formation of a Self-Transformation Club for those wanting to email directly to

other BKs and share their ongoing process of transformation. A short text for reflection goes out to club members monthly together with monthly mansa seva drills. Aims are to go deep into the realization of the role of transformer. Members will write down personal experiences share them by email. Centres will create spaces for dialogue among club members. These ideas were developed by BK Gopi Elton – Australia, BK Corinna Alicante – Spain, BK Mathias –

Switzerland, BK Aloisio and BK Brigida of Brazil, BK Will Gonzalez – Philippines, BK Laura – Israel together with some members of the World Volcano committee of Australia.

The transformation club will be co-ordinated by BK Brigida of Brazil together with the group. To join please email BK Brigida: [email protected]

New: Topics and Contributors for the year: Each month a different region will take responsibility for contributing classes, points and art work for that month.

Homework from Avyakt Murlis 2006-2007 to practice before you meet BapDada this Season

“Child realise the self and become real gold”. This season, you must not come off your self-respect nor must you forget the importance of time.

31-10-06.- Stabilise yourself in a second wherever you want in any stage that you want. So be ever ready.16-11-06.- Sit in the stage of a determined thought. I have to do this. I have to return. I have to return together.30-11-06. - Tour the 4-pilgrimage place of Madhuban:

1. The greatest pilgrimage is the Tower of Peace to become powerful.2. BapDada’s room if you are determined to become equal.3. The hut is for a heart–to–heart conservation.4. History Hall if you have waste thoughts at a fast speed

15-12-06. In a second become free from negative thoughts, free from waste thoughts; become stable and concentrate on “One Father and none other”.31-12-06. Oh Mind, in a second reach your sweet home. In a second reach your Kingdom of Heaven. Practice this in a second through the day.02-02-07. In one second become the master of your mind. “I and my Baba are my world and there is none other”.15-02-07. Now, sit for one minute in the form of a determined thought of what BapDada just said: “I have to finish giving excuses, laziness and carelessness at every moment.”03-03-07. Become incorporeal for one minute, become an all round server for one minute. Do this exercise of the mind throughout the day for 5 minutes each time.Making the Atmosphere Powerful with the Drishti of SaakashIn murli of 03.03.07, BapDada has ordered the children to make (1) some powerful plans with some newness, (2) to create mikes who come on stage as speakers on your behalf choosing the topic for themselves, (3) to make the atmosphere as well as your mind so powerful such that souls have the experience of attainment so that they are not able to stay away and (4) talks on activities and business should be short without going into expansion and increase the powerful service of the mind.

Method: BapDada has advised that the basis of this is that the instruments themselves should finish all waste in a second and spread the impact of best thoughts into the atmosphere. With a powerful mind, you are going to receive success of service through the mind…However, now, when your mind is powerful, the result of serving through your mind will then come in front of you…Now prepare such speakers. You give them sakaash and they give the lectures.17-03-07. Exercise you mind for 5 minutes. Bring it to the supreme abode, to the angelic region, remember your angelic form, the remember your worthy of worship form, then your Brahmin form, and then your deity form. So, 5 forms in five minutes, 8 times a day.You are making effort, but there has to be intense effort. There has to be determination for intensity; there has to be this addition. However, BapDada has told you before too: according to the present time, you have to do three types of service at one time, that is, through your thoughts, words and deeds. Through your mind give an experience. Through your words, give an introduction to the treasure of knowledge. Through your face and activity, give the experience of the practical form of a completely yogi life. You have to do all three types of service at the same time, not individually. There is little time and there is still a lot of service to be done even now.31-03-07. In one second, for 2 to 3 minutes be seated on the seat of a self-sovereign with the sanskars of controlling and ruling powers in an emerged form. End of Homework.

Volcanic Linkup: Transformation Bhatti - 2007-8

Linking up the Brahmin World in concentrated yoga for 24 hours every monthPart of the Year of Volcanic Transformation

Focused rays of light and might, golden beams from Baba,Will transform us into master suns, active transformers, combined, BapSaman,

Activating a linkup of fiery yoga for self and world transformation.

Dear Yogis,Didi Nirmala and the VT team invite you to join in the volcanic linkup from May 2007- May 2008. This takes place on the first Sunday of each month in order to intensify our efforts for self-transformation. The bhatti seeks to link the fiery yoga and intense efforts of all Brahmins globally. The practice of volcanic yoga creates a 24-hour active link-up of light between Brahmin households and centres. There is a deep focus on a particular yoga stage each month. Classes and commentaries from the volcanic manual (available on the website) will develop the global concentration and focus for meditation during those 24 hours.

Activating the links of the chain of yoga power: Small teams of yogis will gather in different households and centres in their city, so the whole BK family of that region is activated into generating a powerful fire of yoga. The bhatti becomes a combining with God through mind and heart creating an intense fire of love and transformation. Those linked to the global chain of yoga create an environment for Baba's power and magic to work wonders. There are 8 hours for each region. Within each region, countries or areas will link in to the bhatti for 2 hours minimum and up to 8 hours if they are free. Please read the following schedule carefully and look for the name of your country or region. Please confirm your participation to us by email.

- Best wishes from the Volcanic Transformation Team

MEDITATION COMMENTARIES: No. 1: Filling in the Power of Love

Let me sit quietly...and gently, turn the mind within...the journey to the inner self, the journey to learn more about me.

I begin the process of letting go identifying with roles, responsibilities, and even my body until I experience being a very tiny point of light sitting in the centre of the forehead in my natural state of deep silence.

The more I let go, the more I taste the true feeling of silence. In this natural state of self awareness I turn my mind to the One relationship that always exists...and simply I visualize in my mind the radiant jewel of light...I feel beautiful pure vibrations emanating from this Jewel and filling me...I feel the pure love of God filling me... I have no other thought, but I just open my heart and allow the most lovable Being to fill me with His pure love...this love nurtures the core of my being...I am filled with silence; my mind doesn’t wander any where...I am where I belong. It is a real union of I the eternal soul with my Eternal Father.

While I experience this connection I understand that my soul is being filled with the power of God’s love and this power enables me to experience all the divine virtues I want to experience now.... peace,... love,... joy, ...humility,... respect..... honesty… purity..

Om Shanti

MEDITATION COMMENTARY: No. 2: I the soul am a Master of the Self

I sit quietly and turn my focus away from the world around me and I turn inward connecting with the part that remains constantly eternal: I the soul.

8

Page 9: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 9 of 24The shift is subtle....almost imperceptible and incognito. I feel the current, energy flowing through me. I stabilize in the awareness of the eternal self. I hold this awareness for a while, absorbed in this state of inner silence.....stillness....peace.

I turn slowly and naturally towards the Supreme Soul and once more I amamazed again at just how easy it is....just one thought....just one second and I am home again with Shiv Baba, the One who is eternally my Supreme Father. I rest quietly in the company of Him....enjoying His beauty and light....absorbed by the One who is eternally radiant....luminous....incandescent. And I know that this is where all my journeys start andend....here with sweet Shiv Baba….everything has slowed down.....my thoughts are slow....deep....out of time....beyond all limits.

Baba touches my intellect and in this beautiful space, I the soul become BapSaman.....like my Father.....re-created in the image of my Supreme Father.....a master of myself.I experience the form of a bestower... that of a World Benefactor to servethe world...like my Father, BapSaman...

Om Shanti--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MEDITATION COMMENTARY: No. 3: Experiencing closeness to Baba

Leaving behind any worldly thought.... I become aware of myself seated in this body, sitting on this chair... comfortably...

I feel my presence in this body...and the lightness of floating alive in the middle of the forehead...without touching anything...just suspended in this intimate space... I feel the silence within...

I visualize myself in the presence of my sweet Baba...being embraced by His loveful and powerful glow of light...He carefully starts contemplating my beauty...and I can see myself in the mirror of His drishti...

I see myself as Baba sees me...a complete soul...decorated with the jewellery of all His virtues...armed with the weapons of all powers...a complete master of His treasures... a master ocean... and I can experience my wholeness...my greatness...

Now let me remain absorbed in this powerful experience of being equal to my Father...

Om Shanti

Page 10: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 10 of 24There is the power of the gathering and the power of service. Baba gives power and the fruit of service. There’s a lot of power in the gathering. There is a big difference between the atmosphere outside, the atmosphere of ordinary Brahmins and the atmosphere of elevated Brahmins. Elevated Brahmins create an atmosphere of safety for the self and others. Let me create a powerful atmosphere for the self inside and wherever I may be. If there is a stuffy atmosphere, you’ll choke inside. Let me create an atmosphere of fresh air. Let me be very strong inside.

What’s the basis for being strong? We belong to the royal family and there has to be a security guard. Baba works as a security guard for me. He says, “You are my child and I’m here for you”. Create a palace for yourself inside so that the empress is sleeping comfortably. Everything is then great pleasure. Become a carefree emperor.

There is the power of being close to Baba. The purpose of becoming close is to become like the One. When you are close to someone, you have a good experience with them. The one who comes close to Baba is the one who wants perfection. Being with Baba, I feel I want to be close and then Godly attraction automatically makes you complete. I feel far from everything else. Become like this and the magnet will pull you automatically. The Alchemist will transform you into pure gold. We have to come close to truth, honesty.

There is the power of coming close to the 8 jewels. Who is going to come into the 8? Who is going to be a destroyer of obstacles? These are the special deities. In their hearts there is only Baba’s eyes, Baba’s behaviour and activity. As a result, others see Baba through their activity. And with spiritual love they bring others very close. This is the sign of those in the 108.

Dadi Janki - 3rd September 2006 - GCHFinish all shadows by filling the self with virtues

What will the sweet sounds of the Golden Age be like? There is huge difference between the sounds of the Iron Age and sounds of the Golden Age. Everything we do here is a rehearsal for the Golden Age. A soul is rehearsing well when it pays attention to being completely viceless and complete in all virtues. We cannot now afford to have even a trace of vice inside. If there is any feeling of dislike towards someone, there will be anger towards that person. Even if there is a little feeling of being irritated or upset, you won't be able to have remembrance with love; you won't be able to remain peaceful inside. Irritation or anger inside will make it difficult for you to have yoga.

We have to finish all the vices because from a tiny trace, a whole progeny can emerge. In fact, it can explode at any moment and be totally out of your control. You won't be able to suppress it. If you try to suppress it, you will experience sorrow. So learn to merge everything and move forward. On any journey, there are checking points at which one is stopped and checked. So keep checking the self and finishing whatever will not let you pass through certain doors on your journey.

What is the experience when there are any barriers or shadows on the soul? We have to now become free of all barriers and shadows and for this; a lot of power is needed. This is the time to accumulate power. If there is any weakness, you will not be able to do what you want and you will become irritated and heavy; you will feel a burden. Therefore, Baba tells us to remain light and the soul will be able to draw might. Keep these things in your mind; how should I remain light, how can I draw light? Keep these things in your mind and all wasteful things will automatically leave. When you are heavy, your face reflects that and your words become heavy. Your actions become heavy, and the whole atmosphere becomes heavy. However, remain light and the atmosphere will become one of zeal and enthusiasm, and you will feel to do something. You will inspire others to do something. How would you feel if birds just sat in trees with sad faces and didn't fly around or sing? So think about this; I should be like a bird, happy and flying - inspiring others to fly.

Becoming free of vices and filling the self with virtues are closely connected. If you keep any vice in the soul, there will also be defects. Jealousy, hatred, irritation - these are also vices and they envelope the soul in such a way that a person's qualities are not visible. So now develop yourself in

10

Page 11: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 11 of 24such a way that you not only have skills but you pay attention to developing virtues and to doing everything with love. Baba will then help the soul in such a way that the soul's talents are used fully in service and the soul moves towards completion. When you do the service you have been given with honesty and whilst being trustworthy, a great deal of power accumulates in the soul.

In fact, our conscience tells us where we are. Some are so engrossed in activity that they don't give time to check themselves. We have to make sure that our conscience is awake and alert. Before the conscience was suppressed - Baba awakened it. Actually, when the soul imbibes knowledge, the conscience awakens. And when the conscience awakens, the soul is able to imbibe knowledge.

The heart bears witness to what we should or should not do. We have to also ask Baba in every situation; Baba, are You happy and content with me? In fact, Baba will be happy with me when I remain happy and content with myself. If I become upset then what can Baba say? If I fail in any aspect, what face will I be able to show Baba? I need to be obedient, faithful, trustworthy and one who follows Baba's instructions completely. If you are like this, as soon as Baba orders you to do something, you will nod your head. Such a child is a faithful child who has the right to the inheritance. A faithful bride has a lot of power; she doesn't remember anyone or anything else - she can show a stern eye.

So ask yourself; is my inner world one of happiness or is there some type of sorrow or pain inside? If there is, finish it with the power of concentration whilst keeping Baba in front of you. This takes just a minute. This is not the time to be in sorrow but to keep the inner self peaceful, and in a state of super sensuous joy. It is time to accumulate the power of Baba's love. Om Shanti

Complete with all virtues: virtues of the self, the deities and of GodDadi Janki GRC – 2 AugustWhat is the effort that I need to make so that no defect, whether small or big, remains in me? I have to go to the world of Satyug after all. Baba says, I change you from a worshipper into one who is worthy of worship and so be careful. When devotees come in front of the images of the deities they realise the difference between themselves and the deities. They say we are degraded, sinners, without virtue; you are the ones who are full of all virtues, completely non-violent…. They themselves say and realise this – they don’t need to be told to say this. The virtues of the deities are so many and so elevated that in their presence the bhagats have realization about themselves.

We need to inculcate all virtues and be like those deities, such that we don't need to point out anyone’s defects to them. We need to practice first and then speak. This is something that Baba really underlined for us in Karachi. If we speak first and then do, that will create disservice. I keep remembering the bhatti in Karachi. Those times were such we were made to forget the body, forget all bodily relations, we worked together, we never quarreled or fought with one another, there was no ‘yours’ and ‘mine’. There was no need to come into sound. We just understood one another through signals. We looked at one another with such love and respect.

Sometimes we also used to have chit chat with Mama at night. The scene would be so beautiful. The atmosphere at that time would be so deep, so elevated, so powerful. It was because we would go into silence again and again. It would happen naturally – we wouldn’t plan it or be told to go into silence but there would just be that pull and practice. Now too, we should do this. No matter how deep and wonderful are the aspects that you have chit chat about – without the silence the atmosphere doesn’t become so gripping.

Through the stage of being completely virtuous others are attracted. They see the virtue and are drawn to Baba. There are actions and interactions. Both need to be filled with virtue. Defects too can emerge whilst I am performing action or interacting with others so there should be some or the other virtue filled in that laughing and enjoyment. That virtue and relationship will then help others come close to Baba. If my actions and interactions with others are filled with virtue then those actions and interactions will make others think of Baba. If my interactions or actions are filled with defects however, then neither will I be remembering Baba nor will those who see me remember Baba. This is a deep aspect.

Today Baba said, in order to come into Satyug, in order to establish the kingdom you have to become complete with all virtues and you have to do that here. We have to fill ourselves with the future sanskars now. In relation to that Baba said that in Satyuga there is no name or trace of quarrelling or fighting. Even if there is the slightest quarrelling that will take me to the silver age.

Just as we have remembered God, in the same way we have to develop the virtues of God: the Ocean of Knowledge, the Ocean of Love, The Ocean of Peace, and the Almighty. What comes first; the Ocean Knowledge, Ocean of Love or Ocean of Peace. When all three penetrate the soul, the soul becomes clean. Peace makes me loving. Knowledge makes me peaceful. All 3 unite and do their work. The tamopradhan stage goes, tamo goes, rajo goes and Gods virtues become mine. God’s virtues are such that they come to me WITH power. Is it that with yoga I receive power and then virtues come or do virtues make me the embodiment of power?

A life filled with Baba’s power of love and coolness:Dadi Janki GCH - 20/06/2003Throughout the day, Baba sees how we use Baba’s power. We heat up during the day if we come into differences of opinion. Then, in the evening, we pack up, make our senses cool and calm, and cool down. When our actions have been good in the day, then in the evening, coolness comes over us. The soul says, I am Yours. I know the Supreme abode is my home, I know that my part is coming to an end. The Supreme Soul says, you are mine, and He teaches us how to take power and strength.

Think about how you feel in the supreme home. Baba is the Ocean of Purification. We are so immersed in the Ocean and lost in the experience of the soul world that we can't even say thank you. In the subtle region, there is coolness and sweetness. Baba is the Purifier and we are in His Company. He says, stay in the company of souls who have a clean intellect. Nobody is bad, but the company influences you.

The one hundred and eight will follow one Shiv Baba and just keep One in front of them, just as Mama and Baba did. That incorporeal One is ever pure. Mama and Baba have become pure by making that true effort to become pure. The one hundred and eight became pure just by seeing the Purifier. The one hundred and eight take power from God, and use that light and power. This life should be one filled with power.

I just move along on God’s power. How does power make us move along? When we follow His directions, the right powers work at the right time. Without power, a little doubt and some hopelessness come in. As is the company, that kind of thinking will come. There are two types of thinking: 1. Fast-paced. Racing thoughts. Can’t control the speed. 2. Good thoughts. Baba comes in front of you. Let me enjoy these thoughts and have the power to face other thoughts. Have very good thoughts so you become the embodiment of awareness and there is no trace of attraction. This is the stage you will need at the end.

Baba is the Ocean of Love, the Ocean of Forgiveness, the Ocean of Mercy. There are three types of love, pyar, prem and sneh. Prem is a strong, constant, unchanging love which can never break. The gopis have this love for God. You have experienced true love from God so there is no need for false love. True love makes me move forward and accumulate the power of faith. We should also have this kind of love for everybody.

When there is the experience of no one except Baba, see how great the experience of love is. The power of that love is so great, it draws the soul on a thread, as if a magnet were pulling it. A thread holds the beads of a rosary together just as the thread of Gods love holds the intellect in connection. Baba has concern for us. He has a high quality of love. Even Lakshmi and Narayan will not have this kind of love. The love we attain from God now is a totally different level. Fill yourself with that love. Don’t be afraid. Remain in awareness of Baba and remind each other of Baba.

Being the embodiment of love and knowledge – Mastery of the Self12

Page 13 of 24Dadi Janki - GCH 04/05/2003I am a soul and God is the One up above. He is One and there are many souls. Today, I will clarify the knowledge of the soul because although you have heard it, you haven't thought about it. The majority have not practiced the stage of soul consciousness. One is to enjoy the knowledge with the intellect, but when you practice it, there is attainment. One may have studied and received degrees, but without practice and benefiting others, there is no faith in the self. This requires effort, but it also brings such elevated attainment. God the Father gave me recognition of the self and so I want to surrender to Him. He has given me such great understanding that I have become a master from a slave.

I don't want to rule anyone else, except the self. We want our self-sovereignty, where we become masters of the self. At the time of darkness, only God gives souls the eye of knowledge and dispels the darkness. Be an embodiment of knowledge and then by becoming peaceful internally, you are able to become an embodiment of love. When the original knowledge penetrates in the self, then there cannot be any peacelessness or unhappiness. Don't take so much effort from Baba that He has to give you extra love to make you happy.

The mind has become peaceful and the intellect has learnt how to have elevated thoughts. Sanskars have become purified. Then see what the head and heart is like. The head is cool, the heart is honest and the nature becomes easy. Such souls draw God's virtues to them to finish their own defects. You receive knowledge from the Ocean of Knowledge to merge in your heart through which there can be lightness and enlightenment in the soul. Look at yourself, then look at the Father and then look at everyone else with a lot of love. The Father has filled the soul with honesty and so look at others with that attitude.

The whole world is crying out for peace, so are you giving donation? Oh bestowers of peace and bestowers of power! Never beg for this. Soul, are you an embodiment of knowledge? Go into the depth of the self and all peacelessness will finish for all time. He is making me into an embodiment of knowledge. God sits with Arjuna and says: I am your Companion am sitting with you. You don't have to do anything. Just sit on the horse and keep the whip with you, but don't whip the horse. When you are holding the whip, the horse won't become mischievous. The mind also cannot become mischievous when you are an embodiment of knowledge.

Everything is filled with benefit. Nothing and no-one should hold onto to me, nor should I hold onto anything or anyone. This is very dangerous. Sometimes, you hold onto the situation. You try to prove it right, to resolve it, you don't let go of that situation. At that time remember: I am an embodiment of knowledge. Don't think of the situation. Just think: I am an embodiment of peace, love, bliss and power. Then see how the power works and you will feel, Baba, it is Your wonder.

The physical organs of a yogi are always cool and calm. Mama's hands were also very soft and gentle. As soon as I gave my hand in Mama's hand, I would become bodiless. Even when you sat beside Mama, you forgot everything and there was the feeling of being bodiless. This was because Mama herself was never body conscious. Just sit beside Mama and you will become bodiless. Hey soul, you are an embodiment of knowledge, you are an embodiment of peace. Sit in solitude and fill yourself with peace. You are an embodiment of love, an embodiment of bliss, an embodiment of power.

Protect yourself from others. Don't listen to or speak of things that spoil your head. If you are honest, then you will see how your boat has gone across by following Baba's signals. Baba's words, blessings, signals have power. We are here to become powerful and to make everyone in our army powerful. Baba always treated us like an army and made us alert in this way. Being in an army one can never give excuses, but one is always alert and ever-ready. This is the Shiv Shakti, Pandava army and so no one can become weak or give excuses. Baba has so many elevated hopes in us and doesn't want us to become weak and so he would send us to Mama for us to become powerful Shiv Shaktis.

The soul asks the heart: Do you have anything else in your heart? Who will tell the soul, who is an embodiment of knowledge, whether it is right or wrong? The heart. The Comforter of Hearts will tell

Becoming an Image of Experience – the EmbodimentSister Meera 4/11/06

Why do we come into body consciousness? Do you have the experience of God's love? Madhuban experience Attention to practicing and developing our experiences Creating a storehouse of powers and virtues Why doesn't the virtue or power come at the right time? Giving time to developing the experience

In the first Murli of the 31st Baba said that this year we should have the newness in the service. We have given the message through words, and we will continue to do that but Baba asked, what addition should we make in our efforts to make service more effective. When service is experience based then experience will stay for all-time. You never forget. You may forget what you've heard or seen but not what you have experienced. You have understood clearly, what is the meaning when you have an experience. So, we need to ask ourselves:

Do I have the experience of soul consciousness? Do I have the experience of God's love? When we have heard such questions then we begin to think:Do I really have soul conscious experience? Do I really have to experience of God's love? Yes we do have experience, but why isn't it constant?

Why do we come into body consciousness? Body consciousness means that the degree of experience is not enough yet. Our experience needs to override body consciousness, otherwise the influence of body consciousness remains greater. That is why it can attract us again and again. So we need to be very clear in our intellect that experience is not just something that we see. People think that it's an experience if you see something, if they see a point of light, or they go into trance, or if they see the subtle regions. But Baba is talking about the experience in practical life in our feelings and inner experiences.

If someone asks you, do you have the experience of soul consciousness? If they ask you, have you seen this soul? Have you seen God? How should I reply? We start thinking, should I say yes or no? If I say yes, is it a lie? If I say no then I feel uncomfortable. This reaction shows that there is a lack of experience. I don't feel that I can speak with ease. To have the experience means to be the embodiment. It means to become the embodiment of whatever I am thinking, speaking or doing. When you are the embodiment, others can see it and feel it through you. You don't need to say anything.

I remember how Brahma Baba used to introduce the experience of soul and soul consciousness to a new person. The new person didn't know anything about soul consciousness. They came and sat in front of Brahma Baba then, just with one glance, Brahma Baba, not Shiv Baba, looked into the eyes

14

Page 15: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 15 of 24of the soul, and they became soul conscious. So the new soul had the experience of being a soul without taking the course on soul consciousness.

So what made them have that experience? Baba himself had practiced the awareness of the soul over a period of time. When Shiv Baba entered the body of Brahma Baba, at that moment he realized he was soul. Then, for several years he practiced the experience of soul consciousness. He practiced until he became the form of that consciousness, the form of that awareness. So when people came in front of him, he didn't have to give knowledge, souls went into the experience of God and soul just by taking drishti.

We accept that we are a soul but we know that still our practice isn't sufficient. If we miss the practice we cannot become the image of the experience. With practice, we are able to embody that experience and that awareness within ourselves. So to give the experience of soul to someone I must become an embodiment of soul consciousness. I need to become an embodiment of self-awareness and have a continuous experience of being a soul. So that is why we have to give time to develop the full experience of soul consciousness. Brahma Baba practiced. He used to write on paper, Brahma Baba is a soul, Jasoda is a soul. He used to write I am a soul I am a peaceful soul and use to write it about those that he was living with. So by repeatedly remembering this then he became the embodiment of that remembrance and developed the experience of soul consciousness.

So you can do this yourself. Take time, write down I am a soul. I'm a peaceful soul. I am a loveful soul. Give yourself just one thought. Go deep into that thought until you become the embodiment. Dadi shared once that Baba used to give them just one point. I am the eternal soul. He told them to go and practice just that one thought. So they used to go and sit on the mountains sometimes for two hours practicing.

Many of us don't know what practice is, we think it means to just repeat the words. I am a soul. Practice is being, just being. I need to allow that awareness to goes very deep into my subconscious mind so that my eyes, my face, my expression shows the awareness, and the vibrations reach out. So how do you give the experience of soul consciousness to others? Others come with body consciousness, but when you share the experience of soul consciousness as vibrations, then you automatically begin to see them as souls. Then they feel it.

But what can happen when we teach is that we teach the knowledge of the soul, but our mind and intellect are wandering at the same time. So then the student doesn't listen. The students mind is also wandering. So we need to develop the experience of soul consciousness consciously. We need to develop the experience of soul consciousness on different levels. Sometimes it needs to be developed on a gross level, sometimes it needs to be developed on the subtle level. Sometimes we need to experience it as the bodiless stage, sometimes as the incorporeal stage. But always there needs to be attention and practice. If we have both attention and practice then this will create experience, then automatically, when we are teaching soul consciousness to someone else, we will only need to speak a few words.

Do you have the experience of God's love? Of course, we have the experience but why is it that when we are in the love of God that we get affected by other things. We become pulled to human beings, we become pulled to situations, we are pulled into thinking about actions around us. So that means that some aspect of our love for God is missing. So when I'm experiencing exclusive love of God, then no one else is included. When I have all relationships and all attainments from one, then there is no margin for my intellect to go anywhere else. So that means that I'm living God's love, I am living in practical in Baba's world. There is nothing, and there is no one other than Baba in my heart.

When there is this experience of total love with Baba then, when someone comes in front of me, then they will feel what is in my heart. Yesterday, one sister shared her experience of meeting Dadi Gulzar. Dadi was giving drishti. Dadi did not say anything but the sister for the first time experienced God's love through Dadi. This is the question, how can I give this kind of experience to others? When others look into my eyes they should feel God's love, just as I felt God's love penetrate my

15

Page 16: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 16 of 24heart when I sat and looked into Dadi's eyes. How can others experience that through me? How can I do that?

Dadi is not making any artificial effort at that time just because a soul is sitting in front of her. She is not thinking that she has to give God's love to that soul. But rather because she is in love all the time with Baba so then the soul in front of her gets that experience of God's love. She is in love, so the love is flowing all the time. When someone comes she is already in that experience. When people come they just take the experience. This is a practice that I need. I need to be in love with Baba. Do you understand? Because when you are in love with someone there is nothing else that others can see through your eyes. They can just see the one that you are in love with. You will not talk of anyone else except that one. Your actions will be dedicated to that one.

By having this kind of attention to experience and practice then you automatically become free of battling. You must have that experience yourself. Once you have the experience of God's love then my intellect will be pulled towards that again it again. In the same way when souls come in front of us, and they get that experience of God's love then I will not need to ask them to come back. They will want to come back to get the experience again.

Madhuban experienceIt's like when we come to Madhuban. We get the experience of Madhuban being very different from where we live. In Madhuban we feel empowered, we feel accepted, and we feel we are loved, so that's why we want to go back the next year. What creates that experience? One thing is the atmosphere. Sometimes you may not have talked to anyone but just by being in the atmosphere you automatically have the experience.

So that's why we need to make sure that the place where we live, whether it is home or work, that the atmosphere created around should be spiritual. A spiritual atmosphere is automatically powerful. In such an atmosphere even if you just speak one word, it will pierce the heart. The atmosphere is very important as a way to create an experience. That is why, if you are speaking of something that is very powerful, but the atmosphere isn't matching the power of what you are saying then the person listening does not get the experience.

Sharing experience means sharing what I have gained in virtue, power or knowledge, with others through feelings and vibrations. Quite often, many of us don't get the experience. We don't get the opportunity to share our experience through words. But there are always opportunities to share through your feelings. There are also opportunities to share through vibrations. So the important awareness to keep with you constantly is that I'm always on service. That means that we can share in different ways at different times with different souls.

Attention to practicing and developing our experiencesBaba asks, do you have the experience of peace? Do you have the experience of all the virtues? So how do I know, if I have the experience of all virtues, and all powers? If I am able to use the right power at the right time then that is having an experience. When we go to an experienced doctor then they know what to do. They don't even have to feel the pulse. But if the doctor is new then they'll read the book. And the doctor that is experienced just looks at your face, and they already know what you need.

We need to practice using the right power at the right time in the right proportion. That means that when you use that power it automatically is a donation to others. That is what is called experimenting with yoga. When you are the embodiment of yoga then not only do you have the attainment, but you're giving that attainment and that experience to others. Let's say you have some pain in the body. What is the power that you need at that time? You need the power of tolerance. Because you are a knowledgeable soul, not only do you know what is the power of tolerance, but you know how to use the power of endurance in practice.

So then in that situation, you don't experience sorrow. Even though you have the experience of pain but by using that power you don't experience sorrow. So people who are with you in that situation also take that power from you at that time. They are able to start to develop that power from your

16

Page 17: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 17 of 24example and the vibrations. As a result of that you receive blessings from others. Receiving blessings in this way, then it becomes easier and easier for you to use that power.

Take another example, in some situations, we need to use patience. If I'm using patience then it means I'm experiencing that virtue. I'm not grumbling or muttering. I just feel patient, I know that everything is accurate in drama. I know that everything has to happen in its own time. I remain calm and peaceful. So that means that others on seeing me also have the experience of patience and I’m giving this power of patience to others.

Creating a storehouse of powers and virtuesBaba has been telling us that this is the time to store all virtues. He says it's time to store all powers and all points of knowledge. So whatever days, whatever time you can get during the day or during the week, spend that time checking your self. Check what points of knowledge you are lacking. Check what virtue you are lacking, powers you are lacking. After checking, then you can fill those in yourselves. Then when you go to work or are caught up in different situations you will have a full stock of virtues and powers and knowledge. Otherwise, how can I experience and practice if I haven't developed these virtues and powers in myself?

I need to stay on the seat of self-respect. Experience that I am the richest person in the world. I have the treasure of all powers and all virtues. There is nothing lacking in my treasure store of knowledge. We know from checking what experiences we still need to develop but also we find that from time to time, the drama gives us a signal. It lets us know which power all virtue or virtue is still lacking. Do you have that experience of getting a signal? Sometimes we may not catch the signal. People who come to us come may ask us for this thing, this power, or this virtue, and then we realize that it's lacking in us. If I give water to someone who is hungry then how will they feel? You may have all the virtues, but you just lack patience. So you'll find that the people who come to you will always want to experience patience.

So the same situation repeats itself, time after time. The situation repeats in different ways through different people. Say for example, I lack the power of tolerance. I will always come across situations where people will disrespect me. People will insult me and criticize me. I then understand I feel that people are always doing this to me. I think the people are trying to discourage me from what I'm doing, but actually it's a signal. It's a signal that I need to do some work and develop my tolerance. In our spare time we need to fill up on what we lack. Then we will be ready to give experience to others.

Earlier in the year Baba said, we need to become complete and perfect. If I need something, how can I give that experience to others? So I need to practice becoming the image of experience, and then I can inspire others to have that experience.

Why doesn't the virtue or power come at the right time? Sometimes the power comes to us a little later, after I needed it. There are three reasons that that happens. I need to check if any of these reasons are still operating.

Firstly, it may be because I am not completely obedient to Baba. When I'm disobedient to Baba then, this doesn't allow the power to emerge at that time. So I need to make sure that I'm constantly obedient.

The second reason is that I'm not seated on my seat of self-respect. I need to be the master Almighty Authority. This is the highest position that Baba gives us in the confluence age. I am master Almighty authority, and then I can order powers and virtues. The powers and the virtues will then bow down to the master.

The third important reason for the virtues and powers not coming at the right time is because we waste time. If I myself don't become complete then I can’t give that experience to others. As Baba says there is a gap between the theory and practice. Practice and experience need to be coordinated together. When you're practicing you are becoming. When you are in the experience then you are

17

Page 18: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 18 of 24being. So to have experience means being. So when I am being, then it is easy for others to become.

This is the difference between the Dadis and us, because when they speak they speak from the stage of being. So let us have attention on a erasing the difference between theory and practice. So that means that what I think, speak and what I do all match together. That means that you're giving power at the same time as when you are speaking. That means you are giving experience. Otherwise, people say that what you said was very good and was a very nice thought. But then they say that they themselves find it difficult to have that experience. But when you give power together with knowledge than they find it easy because they have the power to do it. That is what is lacking in our service today.

Giving time to developing the experienceSo we have to give time for practice. The way of gaining experience is reflection. This is the first step. We spend very little time, on reflection. The second step is contemplation. First there is reflection, then contemplation and then churning. Then comes realization. We listened to the murli we repeat it, but we don't often reflect on it. In order to reflect we need some solitude then we can go deeper. By reflecting then contemplating, then churning, we can become the embodiment. We can become the embodiment of what we've heard. Then it becomes part of us. Then when you are speaking or even when you're not speaking but just doing you are like a lighthouse. You're giving that light of awareness to others.

When BapDada comes then Baba's presence changes the whole atmosphere. When the Dadis enter their presence in itself changes, the attitudes and changes the atmosphere. Why do we have that experience? It's because they are the embodiment. They come like master sun dispelling the darkness. They come like the master moon bringing the coolness. They don't have to say anything. It's because they practiced. They have done 14 years of Tapasya. Today they are the role models for us. What do we have to do every day? Every day, we need to do at least 14 minutes of reflection. This has been 14 minutes. This has to be 14 minutes of time that is virtually undisturbed. Then we will to reflection, contemplation and churning. This is not a time for thinking and thinking. It is a time for being. By giving this time, we will become experienced, and we will be able to give experience to others.

DIGGING UP THE OLD SANSKARS AND FILLING THEM WITH VIRTUESSister Mohini's class, Montreal, June 25th, 2007

What is the difference between settling our sanskaras from the past and being victorious over the vices? The sanskara comes from the past and the vice is in the present. Let's say anger is a vice. Because I have used the vice of anger over a long period, it becomes a sanskara. So I have to control my anger. But the sanskara will create anger again and again. Therefore, I have to go into the root cause of anger. What is really causing the anger? Is it my discontentment? Is it my lack of yoga? What do I see as the cause of my anger? We need to go to the root of the sanskara and nourish it with virtues. Everyday, remind yourself: I need to have more love, I need to have more patience. Dig up the sanskara and fill it with virtues.

Vices can deceive you, but sanskaras don't deceive. People will say, I don't have ego, but yes, there is the sanskara of ego. Some people don't like to listen to anything you say. It is ego. So, conquering the vices and conquering sinful actions are clearing the past. Mama used to say that to have purity is to be free from vices. But total purity will come when you become a conqueror of all sinful actions from the past, which means destroying the sanskara. This is why intense effort, and the fire of yoga, tapasya, bhattis are so important. That is when the sanskaras melt, when they really are destroyed.

Early in the morning, have the experience of the sweetness of Baba, very deeply. That will melt your sanskaras. However, if in the morning I say "Baba, why this is not happening?" then I will not have the experience that melts the sanskara. Experience this sweetness from Baba. Go to the world of Baba in the morning. Bring the power, bring the joy, bring the virtues from the world of Baba, so you can use them.

VIRTUE AS KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATED INTO PRACTICE: (Extracts from the Masters course in Raja Yoga – Australia)

TRANSFORMATION OF VICE TO VIRTUE DEVELOPING CHECKING POINTS FOR EACH VIRTUE

What does virtue actually mean? Virtue means accomplishment. A person who is genuinely virtuous is someone who is accomplished. Not someone mildly good or altruistic but someone who really knows what they are doing, knows how to conduct their lives in a way that is constructive and beautiful.

In the study which is followed by Brahmins, one of the 4 subjects for study is the method by which a person can develop this virtue within themselves. Serenity, maturity, simplicity, sweetness - all these are the virtues that can be acquired by any of us. But each one of them requires understanding.

There are of course many virtues. When each of them is understood and studied in depth then it is like being an instant doctor, because virtues are in a sense the most subtle medicines for each situation in life. They provide routes through both emotional ill health and also physical tension. They are also the most real form of wealth a person can possess.

TRANSFORMATION OF VICE TO VIRTUEVice means the deformity of virtue. Misuse of virtue is vice. Use a virtue in the light of Baba and it will remain strong and true. Becoming perfect is a process of rejuvenation, changing the vice into the virtue. * Lust begins with seeing love, having love, kindness, sympathy. To conquer it, just change the attitude and consciousness from one of desire, to one of pure desire.* Anger comes because of desires that aren't fulfilled. Keep in mind Baba's desire, become the observer - detached.* Greed comes because of desire for some kind of satisfaction. You have found God what more do you want? Be content.* Attachment comes because of selfishness and a desire for a return for giving. Give love selflessly.* Arrogance is pride of self; transform this into pride of being the child of God.

Deepening the experience of soul consciousnessSr Meera 6/2/07

How do you know you are in the bodiless stage? How do I define the difference between incorporeal and the bodiless stage? Understanding the different stages of soul consciousness

There are four stages of experience in soul consciousness. In the first stage, the speed of our thoughts slows down, and the quality increases. In that first stage of soul consciousness there is peace, inner harmony and calm. Calmness, peace and tranquility….

In the second stage of soul consciousness, that is what Baba calls the avyakt stage. Avyakt means nonphysical. The more I practice the positive energy consciousness of the first stage then I experience a growing aura of light around me. That practice of light consciousness means that the aura becomes bigger and bigger. Finally, I see myself surrounded by an orb of light. This body of the elements is replaced by the orb of light. The aura extends the pure energy; the positive energy becomes pure energy. That is why I see myself in the body of light, in the body of pure energy. The thoughts in my mind at that time are pure thoughts. I am this same soul, but now I'm experiencing the second stage of soul consciousness.

What is the difference between positive thoughts and pure thoughts? My thoughts are pure, because they are selfless, as well as positive. Sometimes, positive thoughts can be selfish. But when my positive thoughts have become the embodiment then there are such selfless feelings that it lifts me beyond matter. Then I experience the dimension of light in the body of light. So my experience at that time in the subtle stage of soul consciousness changes from peace into silence.

So peace is a virtue that I experience in the first stage but in the second stage that virtue of peace becomes the power of peace. When I experience purity, then there is that silence. Silence is not thoughtlessness, but concentrated pure energy. That is why angels are shown performing the task in silence. So I can also experience this avyakt stage while walking talking doing everything, of being in the subtle stage. The only difference is that I am beyond the pull of matter.

In the first stage of soul consciousness we become the conqueror of matter. But in the second stage of soul consciousness we conquer our subtle powers. That is when we attain total mastery of ourselves. This stage gives us the feeling of the purity of the soul. So the more I continue experiencing these two stages then I enter into the third stage. The third stage is the deeper stage, which Baba calls the bodiless stage. That means just being the stage of being a soul.

So when do we really become bodiless. When someone dies, they become bodiless. When I die, I become bodiless. That means I'm without a body. But a person who is dead often don’t know that

21

Page 22: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 22 of 24they are dead. Other people will say that so-and-so has left the body. But here, when I become bodiless I will know. That is why it is called dying alive.

How do you know you are in the bodiless stage? The bodiless stage is the stage in which you are beyond. In the first two stages, you aren't attached and you are an observer. But in the bodiless stage you are beyond. You are beyond time, beyond age, beyond gender, beyond sex you are beyond. That is such a powerful stage. Even if you can experience that for one minute it gives so much energy to the body while you are in the body. If I can experience the bodiless stage, even for one minute in every hour that's a few minutes all day it gives such energy to the body. You can revive the energy of the body. BapDada said that even three to four minutes of the bodiless stage is equal to four hours of sleep. You feel rejuvenated and recharged. You feel that kind of energy, even in the body.

So how do I know when I'm in that stage? When someone is dead, then the whole world is dead for them. Here, when I experience the bodiless stage, there is no pull towards the body, bodily relations, no pull towards anything physical. I am beyond. That is such a beautiful experience of dead silence. The silence of the bodiless stage is dead silence. Dead silence is full of freedom. In this freedom, you are totally detached, beyond.

In order to practice the stage I need to be able to detach myself from the body. I can't do this when I'm driving the car. Don't practice this when you're cooking. When you are doing an action the mind and intellect are participating in the action. So in order to become bodiless I need to be able to withdraw myself from the body and just be. That is why we have to stop to become bodiless. You have a very good opportunity whenever you do traffic control just stop and become bodiless.

Baba made us practice the drill during the avyakt murli. Do you remember Baba’s exercise of becoming bodiless in the second? When I try to do it for a minute then I succeed for a few seconds. I don’t need to think anything. I just hold on to that awareness. I am a bodiless soul. Visualize the soul on the screen of the mind as if I am that tiny dot of light and just hold it in your mind. Hold it for that minute. The experience that you will have will have such an impact on your body and the action that you're going to perform for the next 59 minutes.

The experience of the bodiless stage, accumulated over a period of time helps us to detach ourselves from the body when the body is going through physical pain. We don't know when the body may go through that experience. So we must be sensible and accumulate this experience and store it within ourselves. Because if you try to practice the bodiless stage when the body is having pain it is impossible. At that time, the body wants attention so how can you practice bodilessness? If you have done the practice previously, then that will rescue you at that time.

That is what we are seeing in the experience of the Dadis now. Even though they are experiencing different sicknesses they don't feel any sorrow in their mind. The pain doesn't affect their state of mind. Go and see any of the Dadis who are sick and you will see that they are not experiencing sorrow. That is why they become a source of inspiration for us. They are teaching us how to handle those situations.

This practice is so important. The bodiless stage works like a pain killer. The pain feels like a pinprick. So we need every hour to practice bodilessness for at least one minute. How I will know that I am in that stage? When I experience that I am beyond. I feel beyond age, beyond name, beyond time. I just feel light…I feel freedom. The thoughts in my mind at that time are powerful thoughts. Pure thoughts, combined with determination become powerful.

As I continued to practice this then over time I come to the final stage of incorporeal or videhi stage or seed stage. We can also call this mukti the experience of the soul, as I was in the soul world. I experience myself in the soul world, while being here.

How do I define the difference between incorporeal and the bodiless stage? In bodiless stage, while being in the body I experience being beyond. Incorporeal stage I am beyond the body, in the soul world. When I come down I feel complete and full as I was before going down

22

Page 23 of 24from the soul world into the golden age. I feel liberated. It's like I was before I came down on the drama stage. It is a stage of being full and complete.

This is a sweet silence, because it is total liberation, full and complete. It's a godlike stage. It's like the BapSaman stage everything is merged in that seed. Then when I return back to this world I feel those intrinsic qualities of the soul naturally in my life. When I was in the soul world all my eternal qualities were in their emerged form. So when I returned I am able to emerge those intrinsic qualities of the soul naturally. The quality of my thoughts become elevated, because this stage is so elevated. . My thoughts are filled with benevolent feelings. Automatically God's energy lifts those thoughts. The longer you experiment with soul consciousness the longer you are able to hold on to the experience.

Souls who come at the beginning of the Golden age go to the soul world for a very short time. That is because they stay in the soul world longer during the confluence age, they stay in the incorporeal stage for a longer time during the Confluence. If I'm experiencing a sweet silence then I know that God is present. The presence of God is felt through silence. It is not a thoughtless stage of silence but a stage of being.

Understanding the different stages of soul consciousnessWe need to understand the different types of thoughts that exist in those different stages. And the different types of feelings connected with those thoughts then I can be sure that I'm moving on the right path. Now these four stages are clear. It is up to you to decide when and where to practice these during the whole day. We do different kinds of actions, so I should really connect the stage with the correct kind of action. Then automatically my action will be done filled with awareness at the same time. It will be filled with spirituality, soul consciousness.

There is proof, if I am practicing any type of soul consciousness in the action that I am performing. There are three things visible in my action. Number one, the quality of my action improves, because there is better concentration. Second, there is accuracy in action. In complete soul consciousness when I'm performing the action there cannot be inaccuracy. Thirdly, there is beauty. Your mind and intellect are concentrated, and so you'll be able to see the beauty. It may just be a simple action. You are just washing clothes or some mundane action but others see the beauty in it. It is accurate. It is of quality. It is filled with beauty.

There are two secrets one is because I am maintaining soul consciousness whilst in action, so I am not action conscious. What spoils the beauty and accuracy in our actions is action consciousness. Secondly, I am not time conscious. In time consciousness we are absent-minded our mind is not present in the action that we are doing. When we have time consciousness we are either thinking of the past or the future. We are not experiencing the present. When I'm soul conscious, I will have a presence of mind. I have my mind on the action that I'm performing. I'm not body-conscious. I am soul conscious.

If our thoughts are ordinary we have waste thoughts and we waste our time. So that habit is body-conscious. I need to catch myself. I need to have attention. Then I can understand where my attention slips. Because I forget I'm a soul I forget Baba also. When I remember I am a soul then remembrance of Baba is natural. I don't remember Baba, because I think of myself as a human. And so my attention goes towards human beings. The materialistic world, but if I am soul conscious then automatically I remember Baba because there is no one else I can think of.

Baba as Satguru – the Almighty Authority

Thursday is Satguru wah – the day of the Satguru. The true Satguru is the incorporeal, the Ocean of Truth, the Ocean of Love; the Almighty Authority. This is the day on which we celebrate the coming of perfection of our beloved Brahma Baba and his ascent to the subtle regions.

On the path of bhakti there is the custom of taking a guru mostly in later life with the aim of becoming free from the binding cords of attachment and experiencing release from all bodily and earthly bondages. It is said that the relationship between Guru and disciple is perhaps the most mysterious

23

Page 24: Soul, an embodiment of knowledgebrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT8 points and classes.d…  · Web viewVirtue as Knowledge Translated into Practice - (Extracts from the Masters course

Page 24 of 24and profound of all human experiences. The Guru represents pure love, a potent energy which transforms the disciple like the sun transforms the night into day. When the disciple fully surrenders, all notions of separation dissolve in blissful love and there is total union between the two.

The Guru is the silent teacher – he teaches through the power of silence – the power of his own knowing and being. It is up to the disciple to become subtle enough in thoughts to know exactly what knowledge the guru is teaching and to keep the image of the guru with himself in every breath, in every thought. He guides the innermost core of our being.

The guru takes the disciple on a journey through the stage of self realization acting as a medium for the divine force of God. The disciple’s role is to pledge his faith and follow in every footstep. For this is the required act of renunciation. In other words, the disciple loses ‘I’ and ‘my’ in order to achieve the fruit of enlightenment and liberation. Now we have the true Satguru, the incorporeal, the Ocean of Truth, the Ocean of Love; the Almighty Authority. My role is to be like a river which flows continuously, steadily and constantly towards the Ocean. Every moment keep moving towards the highest stage of supreme knowledge and bliss. Let all thoughts, words and actions be directed towards this goal. Om Shanti
