• Be clear about your goals & write them down
• Reinforce the law• Focus on their needs &
strengths – always frame the message positively
(& make it normal thing to talk.)
• Keep an open mind. This is challenging and might take practice.
• Think about how you felt when you were a teenager.
• Be aware of yourbody language.
