• 2015 Recommendation • Street trees spaced between 30 – 35’ on center
• 5 trees on each side of street (10 trees total per block)
• Species per city standard as coordinated with City Forester

Sidewalks and Surfaces • Currently, various finishes and scoring patterns on
Main Street between 5th & 15th
• 2015 Recommendation • Sidewalk replacement
• Ranging in width from 9’ to 12’ (with 1’-wide curb)
• Standard gray concrete with broomed finish and scoring patterns
• Curb & Gutter replacement
• Bulb-out Curb Returns at intersections for pedestrian safety
• Pervious Pavers (along curb to align with rain gardens at bulb-outs) to reduce stormwater runoff
• ADA Ramps at Curb Returns
• Rain Drains for Buildings (through sidewalks)
• Street Width unchanged
• No changes in parking • Parallel on east side; diagonal head-in on west
• Replacing sidewalks is very expensive!!
Sidewalks and Surfaces • Are there less expensive options, either short-

• Epoxy applications
• Spot repairs where damaged sidewalks need to be addressed
• Sidewalk replacement in conjunction with new development and significant building rehabs

Streetscape Improvements Proposed: • Replace sidewalks • Replant or replace street trees; add tree grates • Install new streetlights per selected design • New litter receptacle and bike rack • New in-sidewalk vault cover • Decorative, in-sidewalk art tiles

• Main Street is scheduled to be resurfaced as early as 2021
