Abstract The study of urban space and the existence of the transgender medium in

Thai Society. The objective of the study is to investigation the various belief system

of the people in urban areas and relationship between initiation of transgender

medium and urban areas. Using the research methods by participant observation, in-depth

interview with the mediumships. The results showed that transgender is one option for

urban area where people aim goals of life mainly with various gods such as god in

Brahmanism – Hindu, the heroes in the past and lower level god such as the hermit,

Golden baby and others. These describe the relationship of initiation of transgender

with urban areas and because of uncertain society and lonely lifestyle in urban areas.
