Neda… Neda was gunned down by snipers and died in the

street in front of several rolling cameras.

The videos of her death were viewed by millions and

prompted a global outcry.

The world’s response… Came largely through social media channels, and

more specifically through Twitter.

When Iran tried to shut down free communication –

namely twitter - the rest of the world responded by

changing their twitter locations to "Tehran, Iran”

essentially making it impossible for the government

to determine who was an Iranian and who wasn't.

This display of solidarity goes to show how

important technology’s role is in bringing

people together.
