SPANISH FOLK GAME:

“LA RAYUELA” “HOPSCOTCH” GAME

- “La Rayuela” is a traditional children’s game that can be

played with several players or alone.

- It’s a popular playground game in which players toss a

small flat stone into numbered spaces of a pattern of

rectangles outlined on the ground and then hop or jump

through the spaces to retrieve the stone.

- In this way, the first player tosses the small stone into the

first square. The player must skip the square where the

stone is, and hop the rest of the squares. When the player

is going back, he/she must take the stone carefully, and

continue to the beginning.

- If the player fails, he/she loses his/her turn.

- Once the player has completed this first part, he/she will

have to do the same, but throwing the stone to the next

square and so on, until completing the whole game.

- The first player in achieving it will be the winner!
