Maths brought to life! Join in an exciting adventure to a Treasure Island with the Number Pirates, as the children become a strangely mathematical pirate crew, learning about:

Distances

Weights and measures

Money and change

Co-ordinates

Sequences

The class become University researchers exploring the wildlife and tribes of the rainforest. Can they find the elusive tribe, forced deep into the rainforest by encroaching loggers? And can they help them make a crucial decision about their future? In this unique interactive experience they will learn about:

Flora and Fauna of the rainforest.

Why the rainforest is important.

The lives of both loggers and tribes people.

Working together to make a decision

Developed from many years of using drama games and exercises in school, this fun and active session encourages children to think about what team work means and how it can aid their learning, through exploring:

Sharing ideas, & when to let your idea go.

Listening to others.

Supporting and helping by sharing skills.

How school, class and family can be teams.

Developed from special projects at two Leicester Primary schools, this session (or series of sessions) develops pupil voice to explore:

What bullying means– verbal and physical

When is it bullying and when just falling out?

Emotional and hidden effects of bullying.

School policy– what should we do?

As an option the material developed in the session can be turned into displays and presentation ideal for anti-bullying week or special assemblies.
