Overview• Speaking Time is a three-level speaking series designed for
elementary school students of English.
• Guided practice activities presented in each unit of the books
help students expand their basic speaking skills.
• Listening and paired and group work activities provide
opportunities for students to hear spoken models and
practice their own oral skills in communicative situations.

A target printed speech model is
presented at the start of each unit.
Students can listen to the audio and
rehearse aloud.
Practice Section A
The practice section allows for the
practice of key sentences and for
students to learn and identify target
vocabulary.
Student BookPractice Section B
Students practice using the
vocabulary and structure in context.
Similar to Section A, Section B
generally differs in that the
expressions to complete the sentence
pattern are often longer.
Practice Section C
The students are required to listen and
letter the four pictures according to
what they hear on the audio CD.
Student BookPractice Section D
Learners listen and recite what was
heard from the audio to aid in
retention.
Practice Section E
Learners read aloud and stress the
words in red to emphasize proper
pronunciation.
More Expressions
Provides additional vocabulary and
phrases.
Student BookSpeaking Practice Section A
Learners will create a script to
express themselves on the unit topic
or theme.
Speaking Practice Section B
Students have the opportunity to
interview a classmate. Students gain
the ability to confidently answer
questions about the content.
