Sometimes, especially insmaller containers withdifficult materials, it maybe an advantage to have3–4 very small PanelActivators operatedby only onepulsator.

The Pulseronic is a unique, simple to install system which offers rapidtrouble free discharge for difficult materials and accelerated dischargefor normal materials (up to as much as a 60% increase). This isachieved with the aid of a wholly pneumatic pulsator and a specialpanel activator.

The Pulseronic is a highly flexible system which can be installed intoany size, shape and type of bulk storage vessel giving immediate resultswith even the most difficult of materials. The Pulseronic has proveditself in many different situations. The heart of the system is thepatented pulsator which provides high energy rapid impulses ofcompressed air which are distributed via a panel activator. Theactivator is used to both inject the pulsating air into the material andto distribute pulse waves through the bulk storage. Additionally thedistributed air sets up a slip surface over the activator cloth andvibrations in the air ensure that the particles are easily displaced.

The combination of the pulsating air and a moving slip surface givesfar reaching benefits over alternative systems and can be used tochange hopper wall angle in order to give greatly increased storagecapacity.

The panel activator spreads airvibrations deep into the material.

In this flour silo with a horizontally mounteddischarging screw at the bottom, four pairs ofPanel Activators above the outlet areactivated in four stages, one after the otherwith 0.15-sec. activating and 6-sec. idlingperiod per working cycle, bringing the totalair consumption down to only 50litres/minute.

In general, the activation shouldstart automatically when thedischarge begins. Otherwise thereis a risk of discharging material insuch a way that the activatingsurfaces are uncovered, forming abridge above them.

In larger silos, arcs are sometimes formed at theangle between the verticalwall and the outlet funnel.This problem can often besolved by means of separatepanel activators mounted atthe upper edge of the conicalpart, as illustrated.

The Granulator Mill is a self-contained unit, which can be used for highspeed granulating, pulverising, mixing, shredding, chopping etc., of awide range of wet or dry materials with no need for specialattachments or modifications.

The principal advantage of this mill - the very high production rateswhich can be achieved - is brought about mainly by its design,whereby a 360º screen allows the product particles to be expelled assoon as they reach the desired size. The effect is a much fasteroperation and a reduction in the proportion of fine particles that wouldotherwise result from overworking.

This Mill is able to handle many materials, including those that arewet, sticky or heat sensitive, which other mills cannot process withoutclogging or damage to the product. The Granulator Mill can bemounted directly onto a collection hopper or other process equipment, e.g. mixers.

Rospen have a range of Sifters and Separators to handle almost everyapplication. A variety of sizes, plus attachments such as anti-cloggingsystems can be fitted. As well as the range of standard Copelandmodels, Rospen can also produce custom made models toaccommodate special installation or process requirements.

Capacities range from 0–59 tons per hour. Construction is of mild orstainless steel.

Rospen designed and developed this rig to meter and mix powders andagglomerates with liquids, oils or creams in perfect weight proportionand meter the dispersion/suspension into a process.

Typical uses include mixing water with lime powders for watertreatment, mixing oils with flavourings for snack foods and mixingcoatings for the pharmaceutical/chemical industries. Rigs can also beused to mix and hold particulates in suspension, eg. chopped nuts in acream at 35ºc for confectionery.

Components and OperationPowders are hand-tipped via a Rospen vented sack rip/tip cabinet intoa buffer bin and liquids held in a header tank (heated if required). ARospen controller holds the correct ratio of liquids/solids in memory;on demand, the liquid is weighed into the stirred weigh vessel. Thecorrect percentage of powder is then weighed into the same vessel viaa Rospen feeder and dispersed. The mixture is dropped on a low-levelsignal into the stirred (heated) buffer vessel and continuously andaccurately fed into the process via a metering pump. Simultaneously,another pre-ratioed batch is prepared in the weigh hopper and fed intothe buffer vessel on demand, maintaining a pre-set level of weighedand mixed product. The rig therefore operates as a continuous feedingsystem.
