• During the 1st Week of the Spiritual Exercises,– I discovered that I am totally

dependent on God and that I need God for His love and forgiveness

– I discovered that I have a deep desire to offer myself totally to God

– I re-discovered my own childlike nature and felt God accepts me as I am


• 1st Week– I discovered that God

is very patient with me– I discovered that God

accepts my whole being (sin included)

– I discovered that God is generous with graces and protection


• During the 2nd Week, I discovered that– Jesus’ words are planted

in my heart– I am called to a personal,

intimate friendship with Jesus involving mutual trust, dialogue and sharing

– I can hear Jesus’ voice distinctly and that voice gives me comfort and peace


• 2nd Week– I discovered that Jesus is

fully human (he is normal) and has struggles just like I do

– I discovered in a personal way that Jesus is loving, tender and compassionate to me

– I discovered that Jesus is the master of disarmament. Jesus breaks down barriers with a powerful, determined love


• During the 3rd Week I discovered that– I am called to a whole hearted

and life long commitment to Jesus by

• Surrendering all of my fears and pains to Jesus (I am not as strong as I think I am and I need Jesus’ help to do this)

• Taking up and embracing the cross (I must learn to die to self rather than pursuing my own selfish desires)

• Slowing down and living in the present (I live life at too fast of a pace)


• 3rd Week– Jesus desires unity for his

people as shown through the Last Supper

– Jesus not only gives love but also accepts the love and help of others by being open and vulnerable

– I discovered that the Passion is a beautiful way of loving


• During the 4th Week, I discovered that I – Experienced great joy over

Jesus’ resurrection as we danced, played, sang and celebrated His return

– I am excited and eager to do Jesus’ work and to be totally consumed by it

– I am asked to not worry about the future but rather to open myself to be formed by Jesus by listening carefully to what Jesus says to my heart


• During the 4th Week, I discovered that– Jesus is still playful, tender,

loving, joyful, patient and understanding

– Jesus’ wounds allow for His love and divinity to pour out of Him

– Jesus laughs for joy when I embrace Him

– Jesus’ love is constantly present, linked with service and action


• The Spiritual Exercises allowed me to experience in a very personal way God’s love and commitment to me. I felt free to respond generously with a total commitment of myself to Jesus and to proclaim His message

• To do so, I must slow down and let Jesus lead my life. This takes a lot of trust and that can be difficult for me. Gradually, Jesus showed me that I can trust Him and allow Him to lead. I felt strengthened to do whatever Jesus asks
