When one has a desire to be elsewhere and neglects the current work, then if one changes one’s consciousness - taking up the tasks at hand - it ordinarily brings an immediate positive response from Life.

Acceptance, willingness allows for possibilities; while engaging in their opposite cuts off potentials of life.

Unwillingness changing to willingness attracts the diminishing of the problem that caused the unwillingness in the first place. (This is a very common experience of mine!)

Eg I am offered a project. It seems to me to difficult, so I don’t want to do it. Then I have a change of heart and agree to do it. I then find out that the problem regarding the project was much less than I imagined. Life responded to my shift in attitude.

Right Response to the Negative that Lift's One to the Heights

You can do everything right in the world, and yet unexpected negative karmas can come one's way. Therefore, it is how you RESPOND to them that can make all the difference in the world - to a career, to an organization, to a movement, etc.

Often it is simply to realize that the negative serves a Purpose in the unfolding; provides the necessary energy and opposition that when overcome lifts one to where one wanted to go; or, as is often the case, to levels of success undreamed of.

The Mother says that whatever comes to you in life, - no matter how difficult or challenging, - you have the capacity to realize.

Will Life Always Smile Back at Us If We Remain Happy?

Q: Mother says if we smile at life, life will always smile back at us. But I have seen many instances, even calamitous ones, where I was happy, yet very negative things happened in the world. (paraphrased)

A: -We are complex beings. We may smile on life superficially, or for a brief moment related to something that satisfies us in the short term, but we still can be burdened with many negative qualities thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, etc. The subconscious is filled with these, and the universe is aware of them, and aligns negatively to them; and we with the universe.

-Karmas may have been created earlier, in the past, that are presenting negative now even though we may be momentarily happy.

-Great social forces evokes the earth moving; often due to extreme conflict in those or neighboring vicinities. As we have seen in huge calamities in extremely conflicting areas like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Haiti, and elsewhere around the world over the last 40 years. This is normally beyond our capacity to halt, unless we have gained great yogic power, and have the will to do so.

-We are affected by the social life and universal forces that are beyond our control or consciousness. We are not Universal Beings yet; only beginning to be so. As we evolve, we have more control of the outer.

-But maybe what Mother really means in her quote is that if we can ACCEPT all that life brings, - whether positive or negative, - then good fortune will be our never-ending experience. That we generate a higher vibration when we accept anything negative as a positive, an opportunity, something of great potential in disguise, which in turn comes back to us as good fortune.

So smiling at life is more than being happy and positive, but accepting the darkness as part of the unfolding in the Reality. After all, the Divine sees beyond the positive and negative, into the intrinsic Truth of things, and so can we. It's just a matter of developing a more inclusive perspective, of embracing the negative as part of the unfolding and progress of the whole.

When we accept the ALL, then life smiles on us with good fortune - as peace, as harmony, as truth, as light, as joy, as infinity, etc.

Fully Embracing Current Problematic Work or Job Attracts

Over the years we have witnessed people yearning for a different work or job. However, spurred on by Karmayogi’s dictum, through his associates, when that person dedicated themselves more fully to the current (apparently problematic) work or job, good things quickly started happening; whether in that work or job area, or in another as (e.g.) a new opportunity.

“Embracing the Givens of Life” is thus a great way to evoke the miraculous.

I have seen this wondrous dynamic countless times in my own life.

Action Vs Non Action

In the case of a serious problem, knowing when to engage in action and when to be utterly still is to have supramental sense.

There is the right time and the wrong time to engage in an activity. As we develop in consciousness, as we move further along the Path, we increasingly develop the Subtle Sense that continuously knows when to act vs when to cease action or even forget the matter.

Equanimity that Enabled Negative People to Move Away

Early last year, through utilization of Non-reaction and Consecration power, I was able to cause all the negative people around me to move away; replaced with very pleasant individuals. Hardly a word passed my lips, or any outer action taken to attract these fortuitous circumstance.

Every situation carefully observed subtly suggests several courses of action ... or inaction.

The Mother's Extraordinary Experience of Spontaneously Acting Without Intention

In September 30, 1967 Agenda the Mother speaks of an extraordinary state of a future way life unfolds. Instead of in any moment there being a cause and then an effect, there Is just effect; a right result. I.e. the Individual simply does the right thing, which is then followed by the right thing which is successful, and so on; all without intention.

Instead of saying I must do this and then doing it, one just does it. And then one simply does the next required thing. In other words, a spontaneous unfolding of consecutive right actions without thought or intention..

There is no will, there is just the doing of the exact right thing. And others around one are also just doing in the same way. And what one and others are doing are always the right thing, done perfectly.

It is an ultimate, supramental efficiency of right action, without intent or cause, but just an ACTION, a doing, a becoming of consecutive actions that are all aligned; without intent or thought. It is just doing, and others just doing - all exactly right; just happening as if by itself, on its own. And we just spontaneously partake in the unfolding.

"Wisdom" of Unconscious Acts

From within we can perceive the Wisdom in the unconscious acts of nature. (paraphrase of Savitri)

Eg if someone unconsciously blurts out the truth of a matter, not understanding its implication, it serves a greater progress. From a deeper poise, we can come to see the purpose of such unconscious movements, as it serves the unfolding of the positive.

Consecration Contains “The Complete Act”

Based on the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and his view of the process of creation, Karmayogi has conceived of "The Complete Act." It is the combination of certain factors executed consecutively in a process that all but guarantees perfect execution and outcome, including an often startling, unexpected positive response from life.

The Complete Act begins with the conception of what one wants to achieve, followed by one's supporting will and emotions for it to be carried out, out, followed by the physical execution of the act, supported by right attitudes and skills, leading to an outcome that is perfect; even unprecedentedly so.

One can follow this process for any major activity, like a project, or even the smallest act, such as brushing one's teeth. It is as microcosm of and similar to the process that enabled the universe to emerge from a Divine source.

Consecration is the opening to the Supramental Power that has descended into the earth's atmosphere, that engages in and fulfills all stages of The Complete Act process in a single spiritual gesture, returning immediate unprecedented, infinitely creative results.

Consecration is the spiritual method of opening to the Supramental power, aspiring for a great outcome, yet indicating "Thy Will Be Done;" where the Spirit's Will of the outcome is paramount, not our own will, which can limit the result.

Complete Act Enabling Perfect Outcomes

Sri Karmayogi has devised ‘The Complete Act,” which results in perfect outcomes, including startling Life Response results. It consists of:

-Mental Vision of the activity to be accomplished.

-Vital Will for it to be done.

-Physical Effort to execute it, through right strategies, attitudes, and skills.

-All topped by offering each stage to the Divine, the Mother.

Perfection, and the Infinite breaking out from the current finite are the result.

When you don't learn from the ignorance and falsehood of previous times, it not only repeats, but gets exacerbated in the extreme.

Process to Improve Our Lives

When we consciously aspire to improve our life condition, the idea or goal begins in the Mind, it gathers energy and will for its execution in the Vital, and manifests as real in the Physical.

This is both the Process of Creation (to bring about a major thing, goal in life), and “the Complete Act” (normally associated with manifesting a small thing perfectly.)

Most acts we engage in are done for the sake of the Ego. However, by Consecrating it, it is done for the sake of the Divine, for our highest nature, our Soul, which is the Spirit in us.

The Process of Creation and the Complete Act are essentially the same.

Comment: The business, the organization, the society, the universe, all have processes by which they come about and expand.

All those processes are somewhat similar.

At the tiniest (micro) level there is the act. It too has a process, of being created, of a successful outcome. And its process is also similar to all the other ones above, at the wider macro levels.

The processes of creation of each type though similar are each complex. The simplest way to explain the process in general terms is as follows-

-there is a vision of a possibility

-there is an intention for it to come about

-there is the organization of the possibilities

-there is the execution of the best ones

-the vision manifests successfully as something real in the cosmos.

In first half of Sri Aurobindo’s epic mystic 'The Life Divine' He explains the process by which the universe emerges from a Divine Source. It is a process at the macro extreme. It consists of the emergence of Satchitananda [Existence, Conscious-force, delight] from out of the Supreme and its vision of extending itself into a real form; to Supermind to organize that and make that come about; to mind; to energy which will formulate into the substance of matter. Overall it is an involutionary unfolding that brings about the universe from the vision of a divine source.

[There is also a (reverse) process unfolding in creation, on earth - from physical to vital to mental to spiritual. We call it the Evolutionary process.]

The process of development in a business, organization, and society is similar to the involutionary process of the Supreme as described above. Eg in strategic planning activity if a business we develop a mental plan of what the firm wishes to achieve, that is then organized into strategies for the ways to achieve it, the best of which are then carried out through skilled action of people.

The process of successfully executing a common daily act is at the opposite micro extreme. Eg when we want to accomplish something, such as purchase an object online, it begins with a Mental idea of what we want to achieve, gains the sanction and support energies of the vital will, which is executed through a physical action to brings about the intended result. We also call this process at the micro level a "Complete Act.”

We can study each of these processes Eg study the process by which a business or organization grows; or how society grows. As we understand them we can see their overall similarities as well as their differences.

Karmayogi has written vastly on the process in each if these (and other) areas, and that material is abundantly at our disposal. (Roy Posner)

Perfecting Acts That Creates Consciousness

Firsts we have to be conscious and then only we can go to consciousness. This accrues as knowledge to discriminate on what to do on what not to do, when to do, where to do etc. Then it turns into wisdom. It reaches psychological depth and we receive subtle awareness, insight etc.

[how then to move to Consciousness?]

Karmayogi says, one conscious act is worth more than hours of meditation. Even in routine acts that we do we are not performing at its acme 100 % of what we know.

So at first level it is consciously having responsibility to execute physical, vital and mental requirements at its best.

Appa gives an example. If you use a scissor to open an envelope instead of folding and tearing or using kitchen knife you are conscious. If you use an envelope cutter you are in consciousness.

So conscious to consciousness is step by step method. Unless we are conscious of every act we do -whether this is as Mother wished or against Her wish - we cannot go to the higher psychological level of consciousness.

Alignment

Intense Thinking about Another Causes Alignment in Space-Time

A frequent alignment effect occurs in my life as follows. I have a good feeling about a student in a class, and he has the same for me, for whatever reason. When we go on the break, though there are dozens of people moving to and fro, I arrive at the rest room at the very instant he does, almost bumping into each other!

It also works in the negative. I have problems with a student, and he too feels negative because perhaps I did not answer his question. Then on the break dozens of people move to and fro in the building, and the very moment I enter the class, he too enters, and we too almost bang into each other!

It follows the principle that when two people are thinking intensely about another, they align in space-time at some point later on. This has happened to me many, many times over the years, and perhaps it has happened to YOU!

Another’s Point of View

Taking Other’s View is Supramental

Do you know Karmayogi’s principle of taking the other person’s point of view? Even if they are wrong, it helps to embrace their position. Doing so, often has the effect of bringing them around to your original position!

It is to take the Supramental Perspective of the potentiality and reality of the many-sided truth of things, not just the part one knows.

It may be worth an experiment. It also puts one’s Aspiration on a steadier psychological basis.

To take the other person’s or persons’ point of view is to shift from one’s ego-orientation to a wider perspective. Thus, it is an opening in both knowledge and consciousness.

Ego is the mind's point of view, not the truth of reality. When we take the other person's point of view, we move out of Ego and into Truth.

Karmayogi's Unique Method Of "Teaching"

Karmayogi advocated a unique way of teaching. Rather than lecture all the way through with occasional questions, he asked students, devotees at the outset to ask questions of things they did not understand, and in that way work their way forward. It created great participation and insight.

Ascent and Descent when Reaching Supermind

Please keep in mind that when we mention Supermind (in the evolution) we don’t just mean that it is the ultimate plane of spiritual mind, but that when we reach, embody that plane, it supramentalizes all planes below it - including the Mind, our Vital being, and our Physical body (and for that matter all matter, substance in creation).

There is thus an Ascent and Descent dynamic occurring as we enter that plane, including Supermind.

Ascent to Supramental Truth and Descent

“An ascent into the supramental Truth not only raises our spiritual and essential consciousness to that height but brings about a descent of this Light and Truth into all our being and all our parts of nature. All then becomes part of the Divine Truth, an element and means of the supreme union and oneness; this ascent and descent must be therefore an ultimate aim of this Yoga.” (Sri Aurobindo)

The Descent of the Higher Worlds

Sri Aurobindo indicates through his epic poem Savitri that all the subtle and higher worlds that Aswapathi experiences in the story - eg the endless kingdoms, infinite ways we can know spiritual bliss - are destined to manifest here in this life for us.

Moreover, they are also involved, buried in our own subconscient, but are destined to re-emerge when they descend from Above.

Benefits of Life and Higher Planes Descent

All that has come to us, to society in the world, say in the last 200 years, is the result of a descent of corresponding modes or planes of higher consciousness from above.

As we become conscious,

As we rise in our consciousness,

We start to perceive,

How hard, how difficult, how unfortunate events are.

Although they appear on the surface as such,

Are they not also part of the Reality?

It is in fact what we are learning – which we can call “the Ascent.”

But there is more, as Life then does its part in return,

By evoking possibilities from out of nowhere,

Behind which are opportunities for greater progress.

And it goes further still, ready to reveal the Marvel.

And that demands that we not to stop in the middle,

That we continue the process of Ascent.

Then we can internalize and apply that wisdom in the next situation.

And when we do, it would be the next phase of learning,

The lessons now applied downward into Life,

And that is – “the Descent.”

When Reality struck so hard on the surface,

When Lydia eloped suddenly in Pride and Prejudice,

The family's prestige was hanging in the air,

And the future of the other daughters came into question.

Then Mr. Bennet realized,

He should have listened to Elizabeth's advice,

He should have been more responsible,

Then he went further, beyond that thought,

And travelled to London by himself,

Searched for them throughout the city,

Yet, it was all in vain, as he returned with nothing to show for it.

And yet at that intense, misfortunate moment,

He took a stand,

He perceived that all that took place occurred only because of himself.

And now, because he blamed no one else, except himself,

He took “conscious responsibility,”

And that was the moment of Ascent for him.

But Life had not forgotten his Ascent,

And It responded through Mr. Gardiner,

Who brought surprising news, much sooner than expected,

That Lydia had married Wickham,

And Mr. Gardiner had made all the arrangements,

Also he spent a vast amount of money,

To convert that elopement into a marriage, thereby saving the day.

And yet Mr. Bennet did not stop at that level,

As he took another stand.

Despite, the fact he had little money and did not how to earn such,

He decided from the depths of his being,

To repay Mr. Gardiner, no matter what,

And to honor honesty and return with gratitude.

And the next moment proved to be the moment of Descent.

As the atmosphere was ripe,

As he subconsciously aligned with the Cosmic Plan,

Before he took any further step,

Life revealed its Marvel;

With the sudden arrival of Bingley,

And the surprise marriage of sisters Jane and Elizabeth;

Without the need of any money on Mr. Bennet's part.

As a result, not only was the family’s prestige restored,

But they were financially and socially elevated to greater heights.

And so in our own lives,

We may not know how to distinguish,

The acts which we undertake,

Whether in the Ascent or Descent.

And yet it does not matter.

Life demands us to simply be conscious,

In all that It brings to us,

And apply our higher conscious knowledge.

And by doing so,

Not only will we evoke response from Life,

But these moments will be filled with ultimate joy and delight.

Comment: Ascent and Descent is incorporated in Sri Aurobindo's symbol. The triangle going up is the Ascent, and the one going down is the Descent. It is our Aspiration from below calling to the Divine above (Ascent) who responds to that call as Grace (Descent).

Deepest Aspiration Silently Fulfilled

Welling it up deep inside, an Aspiration - without acting on it, without telling others about it, without even further thinking about it - can be realized in full.

Many years ago I had the deep Aspiration to work in an area that somehow connected with Sri Aurobindo and Mother. I told no-one about it, did not consciously act on it; kept it close to my heart. A year or two later this came about when I came upon an opportunity to work for Garry Jacobs and his import company Mere Cie, changing my life forever.

Aspiration from the Depths

The deeper you go within, the more life responds to our aspiration. On the other hand, when we live on the surface, -- in our thoughts, and feelings, and outer initiatives -- the result is negligible, as the energy is not stored, but dispersed, preventing the "magnetism effect" of Life Response from taking shape.

Comment: Example: A man had learned a powerful software program. He hoped to offer development services using the program for an emerging great institution. He saw potential great benefit to the organization.

When he arrived back home he saw an email which asked him to instruct in that program on an ongoing basis for a local training company. It would be the first of such training in his career! The joyful aspiration to offer that program to the first institution attracted a wonderful training opportunity from the training organization.

My Aspiration In Life Fulfilled

People often come to Mother as a result of a trauma, or as a result of a current problem, or simply as a result of some deep aspiration for something to come about.

When I landed at East-West Center in 1976 and thereby came to Mother via Mother's Service Society I fulfilled a deep aspiration to meld a connection with Her with a Work, an occupation that would reflect it.

On that glorious day I connected with a business where we sold products in service to Mother. It was a livelihood, a service, as well as a means to grow in consciousness. It was a deep Aspiration fulfilled.

There is a bit more Light than Darkness in the world, then surely there is great scope for raising our Consciousness.

Desire Vs Aspiration

Desire has the vital, ego element associated with it. Eg "I have to have this;" whereas to Aspire or Aspiration is to want to elevate your being in some way, to improve your situation, your life, fulfilling one's purpose.

Desire issues from the surface, from the senses or the lower emotional centers. Aspiration issues from deeper within, to the depths of one's being, even one's soul.

Eg I had the deep Aspiration to meld my association with Sri Aurobindo and Mother to some kind of practical work, and that is exactly what happened when through a series of powerful circumstance I met with Garry Jacobs and his wife Leslie in 1975, when they were selling products from the Ashram.

Both Desire and Aspire can evoke a response from life. The former however can attract a mixed bag, eg a good looking man or woman desired, but with great faults; while the latter tends to bring from the higher spheres that which is beneficial to your life; that can take you to a higher place, position in life. It generally evokes a positive response.

Note that the more intense the Aspiration, the greater the response. Or the more you are in tune with what would be beneficial to you and aspire for it, the more it comes.

You can feel the difference between Desire and Aspiration; in how it expresses though our feelings and emotions; namely between our lower and higher emotions.

A Consecrated aspiration is the most powerful method of attracting the most positive results; especially when the consecration originates from a deep place within; including the Psychic Being.

And the highest expression of consecrated Aspiration occurs when we Surrender our very purpose and being to that reality. Transformation of ourselves, of life result.

Aspiration Fulfilled Through Meditation: 3-Day Prayer

In the common forms of meditation one detaches from thoughts, as well as the world. It can ease a mind and may open the doors to the spirit.

In Sri Aurobindo’s and Mother’s sadhana, in meditation one focuses on the deeper aspirations one has in life, - like aspiring for peace or truth or harmony or love, - (dismissing all other matters), which releases a power to attract it.

Their method of Meditation is thus a means of eliciting an experience, that deepens into spiritual realization, culminating in human transformation.

The sense of self-satisfaction is to remain in our Comfort Zone. Our True Self is not content with this, seeking greater adventure and growth.

Comment: -The Divine is here for infinite achievement; it has no comfort zone.

-Our aspiration for more, for greater growth is to take us in that direction,

-Great opportunities coming our way is here to take us beyond our Comfort Zone,

-We can see where we are self-satisfied and break through. Our Aspiration for something higher, greatly beneficial will show us the way.

The Darkness that descends on the Seeker comes to reveal a greater Aspiration in her for the Divine; a greater Knowledge.

Comment: Whatever difficulty comes, we should know that the Divine is behind it; or rather sanctions it as a means of going further. The Divine, Mother does not want us to stop where we are - i.e. "Stop in the Middle" - but to keep going forward led be our Soul and our Inner Aspiration to discover and embody the ultimate Truths of existence.

Real Faith is where we have reached our inner being, the Soul. There the Soul knows and thereby perceives obstacles as steps to take us further on the path, to further our spiritual growth, our progress, evolution, and transformation.

Power Of True Aspiration, Decision, Sincerity, & Faith

Aspiration is the hope to do something good in our life, such as wanting to become a better person. It is not tarnished by Ego.

When the Aspiration for something is really true; when the Decision is truly true; when the Sincerity is really true, and when the Faith is truly true, there is no opposition that can't be overcome.

Eg Churchill exhibited all four when all seemed lost as the opposition Germans were about to invade Britain at a time all of Europe was overrun - life responded in his and the nation's and the world's favor.

The same with Subramaniam in India who believed that hybrid seeds could lead to agricultural self-sufficiency in India at a time of severe food shortage.. The people in the government, scientists et al laughed at the vison, but it did indeed come about. It is because his vibration of Aspiration was true that life fully responded to his vision..

But what about if you don't get the results in the short run? If it meets the above conditions it will surely come later on, and in a bigger way.

And if it does not come at all, then if one goes back and one makes sure the level of aspiration or decision or sincerity or faith is true, life will surely respond.

The keys is always if the vibrations of one or more of these aspects is truly TRUE.

Aspiration: We can Aspire with all our might for the highest we can conceive, which will be a service to the Divine.

Comment: By aspiring for something greater, for something that can truly uplift ourselves and those around us, we align with the intention of the Divine; with the Spiritual Evolution of life on earth.

Limits To Our Aspirations

The less we are caught up in our normal routines, the more we will be in touch with our deeper aspirations. Thus from our deeper and wider status we will more readily connect with our deepest intention and aspirations.

We are thus lost in our pre-occupations, such as the Physical things we do; the Vital connection we have to our pride, prestige, dignity, self-importance, our desires, impulses, and sensations; our attachments, our possessiveness; our petty concerns; our opinions, attitudes, sentiments; our reactions resentments, irritations, fears, etc.

From there, from those constraining influences how will we ever be able to connect with our deepest Aspirations in life, which issues from the depths of our being.

Now I had a work to match my spiritual proclivities (Sri Aurobindo and Mother), what I cherished more than anything. The Aspiration was from my Soul; the attraction to the result came subconsciously.

When we are conscious, we would able to perceive and align with soul’s aspiration and manifest that quickly, otherwise one would need to go through long process, long journey. Whatever path one may choose, our soul would not limit us as it is interested to gain the consciousness, the essence of knowledge through all the experiences like positive and negative, good and bad and so forth. How quickly we would align with that aspiration is the key in our life and it depends on our Consciousness growth.

In Interstellar movie, Cooper’s soul sanctioned the adventurous process, yet it could have been much shorter and more amiable path had he listed to his daughter Murph in the very beginning.

Response: -Yes soul sanctions positive and negative, as it seeks experience that leads to knowledge, eventually integral knowledge through one or multiple lives.

Eg I had a very difficult experience in 1997, which left me in a terrible psychological state. A state of near non-stop fear that lasted 4 hours every morning for 6 weeks. To survive I had to lay on the floor and call Mother every minute of the intense ordeal. At the time Appa told me that it was “fear going out”. He also told me that my soul sanctioned the entire ordeal.

-There is a difference between soul sanctioning positive & negative and our getting in touch with our soul’s, out psychic being’s purpose. To make it truly positive we surrender from those depths to Mother, which more fully puts us on the Sunlit Path (with positive only development).

-Some day all these principles will be clear and cohesive and integrated. I think for that to happen we need to have more experiences in the depths.

Comment: Aspiration is the ascent that brings down the descent of Grace. (Sri Karmayogi)

There is also Karmayogi’s commentary in his article 'Aspiration, Rejection, Surrender'. Some of the things he says:

-Aspiration is essentially a soul quality.

-When Mother comes to you through life, that will be a very glorious moment. Such a thing will constantly happen to you if you release aspiration.

-If aspiration is completely supported by rejection, inner conditions are prepared for surrender, but surrender is not automatically made.

In between there is one more stage. For the aspiration to become dynamic, one has to consciously invoke the Divine to accept all that he does. This is called consecration. What aspiration begins, consecration completes.

When consecration is completed, it is consummated in surrender.

Continuous Progress: Don't Stop In The Middle

A key principle brought out in the first chapter of The Life Divine - The Human Aspiration - is that we should not stop in the middle of our quest and growth process. Once we have reached a level of consciousness though inner effort, we should not stop there, but continue to make progress. It should therefore be an ever-lasting upward movement.

Eg you practice non-reaction with a spouse, and as a result you not only avoid an argument, but you feel a quiet peace and richness thereafter. Maybe there will even be a sudden external response from life. We have grown a bit in consciousness through the episode. However we can continue that efforts horizontally trying again with the same method (here Non-reaction), and vertically with other methods; just as long as we are engaging in continuous progress, building on the first episode.

Personal growth suggests that we cannot rest on our laurels, but instead we should keep moving forward. So when you engage in that positive spiritual method and see the inner or outer result, enjoy the outcome, but don't stop in the middle on your journey. Keep moving forward, practicing the powerful inner methods you are drawn to, and your life will become a startling, never-ending experience of vast success and unbound happiness and Joy.

Aspiration At Various Levels

Aspiration is of a higher order than ambition or desire. It is a Call for a higher purpose, will, manifestation to descend into our lives. It reflects of our Soul's the Psychic Being's intention for us in life.

Aspiration can be experienced at three levels; in the mind, the vital, and the body.

-In the mind Aspiration seeks Truth. It is not what interests me. (It is the Light of the Being, the Psychic awakening in the mind.

-In the vital Aspiration seeks Abundance, Energy, Capacity, Power and Delight. Not just for self, but for universally, for everyone. (Karmayogi has great vital Aspiration; always aspiring for the benefits to come to others.)

-In the physical Aspiration seeks Immortality. (It is the psychic being behind the physical seeking unending life; to manifest infinity and eternity perfectly in physical form; to wipe out imperfections of illness and death.)

-The Aspiration, from whatever level, is the Divine awakening in us. Aspiration is the sincere, ardent Call from us to the Divine through our Psychic Being, that evokes a response and descent of the Force, the Mother into our being, into Life.

My Aspiration

A reader asks how I have created such abundant output over the years. I.e. what has generated my Aspiration to create and achieve. My answer is that it has come from-

-the radiating Inspiration of certain personalities who subscribe to the deepest personal and spiritual values (in my case Karmayogi and Garry Jacobs)

-Learning, educating myself in areas that are of great interest to me

-Looking inward, discovering, and then subscribing to the deepest of values

-Having marvelous, even miraculous-like experiences that have reinforced my knowledge, interests, and values in life

-Being tuned into changes in society and a desire to be part of that wave of innovation and change. Eg in new technologies and new age spirituality

-Doing work(s) I truly love (while accepting those works that are given to me, whether loved or not, as means of progress along the way)

-Establishing focused goals in my life, strategies to implement them, and following through with vigor and positive attitude

-Being disciplined and staying on target

-Being a True Individual (thinking for myself), not following the herdal view

-Seeing the benefit and rewards that other derive from my works; sharing the joy of others’ success

-Being humble that great insights and are constantly coming from others, ever-widening the scope of insight

-Feeling eternal gratitude that Mother has so often pointed the way forward, generating waves of Faith to carry on and take things further.

All of this (and more) creates the Energy that flows outward through activities in ever-accelerating output.

And if you also learn the Subtle Principles of Life, including spiritual methods that evoke the miraculous, the Energy is intensified that much more, generating even greater and deeper outcomes - whether of knowledge or any other form of worldly success.

In 1976 a young man came upon the outer banks of that organization when he met with Garry and Leslie Jacobs in California, and began his professional career. Little did he know at the time that behind Mere Cie, their import company, was an emerging Institute that interpreted the works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother and applied it to all fields and facets of life.

And little did he know that at the center of this heart of light was the indominable focus on opening to the Mother and Her Force in whatever areas of life we were engaged in. This was the stunning magic and power that a young man came upon on that fateful day. Karmayogi, the founder and inspiration of MSS had earlier instructed Garry Jacobs to think of Mother in all projects he was assigned to, just as Garry now asked me to “Remember Mother” on my first day’s sales effort for Mere Cie. For myself, it was the day the Magic was born.

Now 50 years after MSS's founding, all the thoughts have been thought; all the ways to enrich life with Mother’s power has been explained from every angle in every major field of life by the multi-dimensional spiritual genius Sri Karmayogi, the founder and Light within the Light of MSS. What more could we want? And yet now Garry Jacobs works to spread that knowledge so that new generations of devotees can understand the vast, unprecedented Wisdom that Karmayogi, and previously Sri Aurobindo and Mother, brought to the world.

And now after all these years we have come to understand that the warehouse of that Knowledge, the center of all initiatives and projects to change the world through Higher Consciousness, is contained in the vehicle that is Mother’s Service Society.

My personal efforts to gather, categorize, understand, and spread that profoundest of Knowledge are but an echo of a magnificent chorus of wisdom and power that is

vibrating around the world. In these dark times of pandemic and economic and social and political turmoil, MSS stands out as a beacon lighting the way forward, while most of the world’s thinkers, organizations, and institutes can only look on blankly at the turmoil on earth and ask “Why?’ And yet MSS has addressed all the issue behind these and other ultimately challenging developments, providing profoundest of answers to Life’s persistent questions.

Perhaps we can say that MSS has dusted the world with pure wisdom ready to be mined by all those on earth who seek a better life.

So I congratulate Mother’s Service Society, MSS, - the monumental intellectual and spiritual beacon of the world - on its 50th anniversary. And I do so as we are so strangely huddled within our homes due to Covid19, and stranger still realizing that Appa physically left us just a few months before this 50th anniversary celebration of the institute he conceived of and gave life to.

I am so proud to have participated in MSS's various initiatives and projects across these many decades, knowing that I am but a tiny leaf blowing in the wind, as I humbly bow before the greatness of this Divine institute on earth.

Atmosphere In a high consciousness environment, an individual showing egotistic tendencies may suddenly find himself challenged by a humble individual with the same or greater talents. The higher atmosphere has that type of influence.

Attention to Others, Things

Attention to Objects, Their Appreciation, and Response from Life

Give a physical object, such a machine, and it will soon start operating in ways you would not have imagined. Even a small, token effort of attention can attract that startling result, especially if the object has been neglected. It is the soul of the machine expressing its appreciation.

A man cleaned part of a vacuum cleaner that went beyond normal levels of attention, and the next day it seemed to clean everything in sight! He was utterly amazed at the results it produced for that small extra effort of attention and cleanliness.

Beginning a Conversation

In a new conversation it's advisable to allow the other person to speak of their interests first.

And then throughout the conversation it's best to constantly take an interest in what they have to say; focusing on what their interests are, over your own concerns.

As a result, life will respond positively. Moreover, all that you were interested in saying at the outset will be conveyed in due time, and then some.

Not only will the conversation go very well, but along the way, unexpected positive developments are likely to be revealed.

Though it defies logic, the Intensity of Positive Attitude previous to the work often supersedes the actual effort in evoking real success, as life cooperates from all quarters.

Response: Consecration normally contains positive thinking, since we seek positive outcomes through it, and because we have some degree of Faith in the outcome; what Mother/the Divine gives.

We could thus say that the greater the Faith, the more positive is our thinking in relation to the consecrated act.

Perfect Dovetailing of Circumstance

Wouldn’t it be marvelous if everything could flow perfectly in the course of your day? It can, to perfect precision if you consecrate the activity beforehand, as well as maintain the highest positive attitude. Life will then cooperate and flow smoothly, perfectly down to the tiniest detail. A profound dovetailing of circumstance will surely follow!

Unwillingness changing to willingness attracts the diminishing of the problem that caused the unwillingness in the first place. (This is a very common experience of mine!)

Eg I am offered a project. It seems to me to difficult, so I don’t want to do it. Then I have a change of heart and agree to do it. I then find out that the problem regarding the project was much less than I imagined. Life responded to my shift in attitude.

Shifting to Mother (Consecration) from Timidity Attracts Boss’s Positive Action

Today morning i saw the video [on how overcoming negative attitudes attract good fortune]..I felt Mother has sent this for me as I have to change my attitude in my work place...I used to hesitate to speak with my superiors, avoid them with fear, lack of confidence...i was afraid of the attitude of my dept colleague and so I prefer to avoid and keep quiet. Just after seeing it ,i decided to change my negative attitude . Mother is the Only TRUTH....Let me rely on HER alone and not on my knowledge, others attitude....a lot of miracles happened ..my boss called me to redress a complaint...i can boldly talk with him about my work. The highlight ... yesterday's data which was automatically updated with today’s data was made available once again for the benefit of my organisation after I called and informed the concern person....Thank you Mother...
