Sponsion 2017, the annual course completionpageant of the Albertian Institute of Management,
The Department of Business Administration of St.Albert's College was held with full pomp and grandeurat St. Albert's College on 14 November, 2017. HisGrace, Archbishop Dr. Joseph Kalathiparambil, thepatron of our institute was the president of thefunction and he wished all the students a bright andprosperous future. He asked them to cherish the idealsthat they have imbibed during the two years theyspent in the college. The chief guest for the functionwas Prof. (Dr) Rose Varghese, Vice Chancellor ofNUALS who reminded the students that the lessonsthat one learns in college are the stepping stones totheir well-being in the larger world outside.Felicitations were offered by Dr. M. L. Joseph, Principal,St. Albert's College who hoped that the studentswould transform into alumni whom the college could

be proud of and that they would spread the goodname of the college across the world. The coursecompletion certificates were distributed to thestudents by Prof (Dr) Rose Varghese, Vice Chancellorof NUALS. Ms. Sujana Violet Treasa S. was awardedthe best outgoing student and Ms. Feby Treasa Felixwas awarded the best Aspiring Manager by His Grace.The prizes and scholarships were distributed for thestudents who excelled in academic. The solemnceremony of the day was the oath taken by thestudents that promised the true path they wouldfollow in their respective careers. The oath wasadministered by the Managing Director Rev. Fr. AntonyArackal. The welcome address to the programme wasdelivered by the Dean, Dr. Geo Jose Fernandez. Thefunction ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. SujanaViolet Treasa S. the student representative of 2015-17 batch.
Mock Interview @ AIM
Albertian Institute of Management conducted aMock Interview for their second year students on
25 November 2017 with two panels interviewing thestudents. The panellists for the mock interview wereMr. Manomohanan (Ex. CEO, Muthoot Capital),Mr. Rajan George (President, RG Consultantcy),Mr. Prakash Rajagopal (HR Consultant) & Mr. T. I. Babu
(Ex. General Manager (HR&IR), Cochin Shipyard Ltd.).The students were evaluated on different criteriaincluding grooming, attitude, application, conceptualclarity, and communication. The panellists gavetheir individual feedback to the students on theareas they need to focus for increasing theiremployability.

Talk on Investments
Albertian Institute of Management was privilegedto have Ms. Deepali Jose, from Geojit to talk on
the 'Geojit Foundation Course in Investments' on 29November 2017. Ms. Deepali gave an outline aboutthe course and the topics that are dealt within.
Session on Cracking Aptitude Tests
Mr. Subin from TIME visited AIM on 29 November2017 to brief the Sem. IV students on how to
crack aptitude tests during the placement process.He mentioned about the necessity of having aptitudeskills for the students. It was indeed an enlighteningsession.
Speak for India Debate Competition
Mr. Prannav Padmanabhan, First year MBA student participated in"Speak For India" Debate competition. season 3 conducted by
Federal Bank and Mathrubhoomi. The block level competition of the statelevel event was conducted at St. Teresa's College and Mr. Prannav gotselected into the disctrict level. The topic for debate at the block level was"Beef ban - Necessary or not". He also won the district level and is nowqualified for the zonals which is to be conducted in the second week ofDecember. The topic for district level was "Information stored in Aadhar isan infringement of privacy" and our student spoke for the motion.
Open House @AIM
The Open House programme, an exercise held atthe end of each semester was conducted for the
IInd year students on 24 November,2017. Theinteractive session with the parents served as aplatform to discuss the overall performance of theirwards with the faculty members.

IEDC - St. Albert's Room Inaugurated
Innovation and Entrepreneurship DevelopmentCentre(IEDC) is being promoted in educational
institutions to develop institutional mechanism tocreate entrepreneurial culture in Science andTechnology academic institutions and to fostertechno-entrepreneurship for generation of wealth andemployment. Main aim of IEDC is to transform thestudents from job seekers to job providers. IEDC- St.Albert's Room was Inaugurated by His GraceArchbishop Dr. Joseph Kalathiparambil on 14November, 2017

Oath taking ceremony
IEDC Awareness Program
IEDC-St. Alberts conducted student awarenessprogrammes on 29, 30 November and on 7
December, 2017. The main objective of the programmewas to give awareness about the activities andobjectives of IEDC to the entire students of St. Albert's.
Welcome address was given by Dr. Shiny C. M.,Nodal Officer, IEDC - St. Albert's. On 29 and 30 ofNovember special address was given by Mr. S. Vivek,Certified Ethical Hacker and CEO of Ozone CyberSecurity & Qsploit Technology. Another resourceperson was Mr. Jogin Francis, CTO, D-mak Technologies.Both of them shared their startup experiences and
struggles they had faced while setting up the startup.Mr. Muhammed Fasil C. U., Technology and InnovationFellow represented Kerala Startup Mission. He gavean introduction to startup ecosystem and discussedwith the students on how to implement an idea anddevelop it into a business and the role of IEDC in it.
On all three days selected student representativesfrom various departments have attended theprogramme. The students also were given theopportunity to design IEDC logo and submit it byDecemeber 15, 2017.
Interactive Session with our Alumnus
Mr. Jaison Sebastian, Senior RelationshipManager, ICICI Securities, visited AIM on 28
November, 2017. He is an alumnus of AIM, presentlyworking with ICICI Securities. The objective of thesession was to give the students an overview of thecompany and how they conduct interviews. He alsoshared his experience with ICICI Securities and howhe was able to crack the interview. This sessionenlightened the students on how to perform in theinterviews.
Training on Group Discussion
Albertian Institute of Management conducted atraining program for the Sem. IV students on 28
November 2017 on the topic 'Group Discussion'. Mr.Sony George,co-founder of companies like DigitalFuture of education Pvt. Ltd. and Trip2SuccessEducation Pvt. Ltd. and founder of WISEOWL was theresource person. He stressed on the various factorsto be kept in mind while attending a Group Discussion.He also spoke on the Do's and Don'ts in GD and alsoconducted a mock GD for the students.
FDP AttendedMr. Nidhin Johny, Faculty, AIM attended a FacultyDevelopment Programme (FDP) On Goods and ServiceTax (GST), on 28 November 2017. Ms. Jery Varghese,Senior Manager, Indirect Taxes, E&Y, Bangalore, wasthe resource person. The topics ranged from Basic GSTconcepts to recent updates in the Act.
Students from the St. Albert's college along with the Sem II MBA students attended a seminar conducted byConfederation of Indian Industry (CII). Ms. Nuthan Manohar, the chief guest was a professor from IIM, specialised
in Marketing and Branding. She interacted with the students and spoke about the importance of marketing and howto brand a product and various factors to be taken into account while branding. She also gave idea on psychologicalbehaviour of people and what can influence a person towards a particular product. She concluded by encouragingstudents to perform yoga to manage stress. Ms. Nuthan also demonstrated various yoga techniques which can bepracticed by the students to manage stress and depression.
