On behalf of conference hosts University of Lisboa (ULisboa) and National

Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC), we are delighted to welcome delegates

from around the globe to the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, for Fish Passage 2020.

Lisbon is situated in the North bank of Tagus River estuary, the longest river of

the Iberian Peninsula. The surrounding region includes many interesting and

touristic villages, like Estoril, Cascais, Sintra and Ericeira, offering a variety of

surroundings, ranging from city and beach fronts to history and natural

environments, all of them combined with a cosmopolitan feeling. The welcoming

community, diverse culture, fine gastronomy and contemporary attractions offer

something new for all delegates.

Conference Overview The 2020 International Conference on River Connectivity - Fish Passage 2020,

incorporating the AMBER & FITHYDRO EVENT - SMART WAYS TO

IMPROVE CONNECTIVITY, will bring together experts, managers, stakeholders

and companies from around the world to discuss pressing issues on

ecohydraulics, ecohydrology and fish passage problems, solutions and future

avenues of research.

The conference is aimed to be as wide-reaching as possible by being relevant to

a variety of attendants. Target audiences are: engineers, ecologists, biologists,

managers, practitioners, NGOs, private companies, consultants, students and

policy and decision makers. This event aims at increasing research and profes-

sional networking and is an excellent opportunity to connect future partners.

Fish Passage 2020 will verse on a wide range of topics during three days with

concurrent sessions in engineering, ecohydraulics, biology, management, and

social issues. The organizing team has extensive knowledge and experience on

fish passage research and it benefits from the support of several institutions that

combined guarantee the success of Fish Passage 2020.

The conference will also feature plenary talks from recognized experts, special

thematic sessions and poster sessions. Short courses on relevant subjects will

be available before the conference and technical and social excursions will be

available after the conference.

Conference Venue LNEC - National Laboratory for Civil

Engineering The National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC), established in 1946, is a

public research institution, devoted to science and technology, with the status of

State Laboratory. Located near the center of Lisbon, in a 22 ha campus, LNEC

develops its work in all the main fields of civil engineering and related scientific

areas, giving it a unique multidisciplinary perspective.

The basic missions of LNEC are to contribute to pursue the public policies and

to provide expert support to the public authorities in the various Public

Administration sectors, particularly in what concerns the quality and safety of

works, the protection and re-qualification of both natural and built heritage, as

well as the technological upgrading and innovation, namely in the building

construction sector. The scope of LNEC’s activity includes public works,

infrastructures, housing and urban planning, hydraulics and water resources,

transportation, environment, construction materials and other products. Its main

objectives are safety and quality of the works, protection and rehabilitation of the

natural and built patrimony, technological innovation in the building sector and in

the fields of water and environment.

LNEC has devoted facilities to host conferences and meetings. For this purpose,

there is a specific building, with a main auditorium for a maximum of 400

participants and 5 rooms with 50 seats each one. In the surrounding buildings

are located the small auditorium, with about 100 seats, and the amphitheater,

with a capacity for 250 participants. This set of buildings is surrounded by a

large garden.

Both exhibition spaces will provide an excellent opportunity for delegates to interact with exhibitors. Maximum contact between exhibitors and delegates will be ensured by serving the coffee breaks in both exhibition spaces. The Organizing Committee is receptive to different exhibition area sizes or request of larger outside exhibition areas. Contact us ([email protected]) for a tailored option. Should you require additional information about renting additional space please contact the Coordination Team. * At this moment, all interior exhibitor areas are booked. Due to organizational and logistic specifications, we require a minimum of 7 exhibitors in the outside stall to assure its availability. If this minimum number is not attained, the event organization will ensure full refunding.

Special Requests

Exhibit areas choice

Exhibition areas will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, according to the exhibition package. When you sign up as an exhibitor, you will get an exhibition layout of exhibition area locations. Please select your first three choices.

Set-Up and Take-Down

Exhibitors will be able to setup their exhibition area in the designated location on Friday the 26th June, or Saturday the 27th June.

We ask for your consideration to control noise levels during plenary sessions.

Exhibitors will have to take down their materials and pack up as soon as the conference is finished (by Friday 3rd July).

The posting of materials on walls, ceilings, or doors by any method is strictly prohibited.

If you plan to ship your materials, please contact the Organizing Committee ([email protected]).

General Terms of Contract

Exhibition space will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, according to the exhibition package.

Allocation of exhibition space may also depend on specific space requirements.

It is the exhibitors’ responsibility to comply with the general rules and regulations of LNEC

It is the exhibitors’ responsibility to comply with any national legislation with regard to exhibition, publicity, the handing out of any samples, and the sale or promotion of any products and marketing material.

The exhibition organizers cannot be held liable for any non-compliance.

Only paid exhibition area will be taken into consideration for allocation.

General Terms of Payment

Upon receipt of your booking, an invoice will be issued corresponding to the total amount of the booked items.

The exhibition area/additional sponsorship items will only be confirmed and considered valid upon receipt of the invoice payment.

Payment Methods

Payments to be made in Euro (€) via bank transfer.

Payment via bank transfer: all bank charges by sending and receiving bank are to be debited to the paying party.

Proof of deposit payments made via bank transfer sent to ABREU Events ([email protected]) is required in order for payment to be validated.

Please note that International/national checks will not be accepted as mean of payment.

Cancellation Policy

Until March 2020: Refund 50% of the total value of the exhibition area booked will be granted

From March 2020: No refund of paid exhibition area will be granted.

Refund of booked exhibition areas will be granted for cancellation requests received in writing to [email protected].
