In sports and in industry we are all faced with the challenge of coaching diverse teams. Whatever the team, in the years ahead that challenge will only increase. Regardless whether we work internationally or never leave our home country. The business, the sports talent and the clubs we coach are multi cultural and we cannot lead, teach, coach, manage and motivate them in one standard way.

So gaining insight and skill into managing and coaching across cultures is important for us as coaches and managers, for our company, our club, and most of all for the talented employees/athletes we wish to nourish. We believe there is no greater waste than the waste of talent. Whatever the game or business.

Experts from the international business sector as Tom Fadrhonc and Huib Wursten of Itim International provide you with up to date knowledge on manage and coach business teams and related areas. Sports professionals as Joost de Wit (Director Football Club Vitesse) give you insight and skill into managing sport teams. The teachers will ensure that there is always a connection between sports and industry. OBJECTIVES Understand the essence of culture and how it affects who we are and interact. Know your own cultural values, the values of the business and sports employee you coach and manage and the values of the club and company environment. Help the player/employee of any culture so as far as she/he wants. Understand which coaching and management methods are effective and which are ineffective or counterproductive for each culture. Be able to recognize different types of groups and know how to assess and act accordingly. Create the most encouraging surrounding for the player/employee, e.e. Family, school, friends. Develop a club and company culture that is optimal for personal development. METHODOLOGYTeachers will present a learning-by-action course where participants are required to be active participants. The program includes multi-disciplinary coursework, case studies, individual research, team projects, and experiental learning, providing you with valuable knowledge and skills to advance your career as manager/coach.
