SpotLight Mobile App User Guide

The Landing screen is presented when the Mobile App islaunched. All functionality can be accessed from thisscreen. The primary functionality include:

• Vessel Visits: Display vessel information calling atterminals operating Navis and GCOS systems

• Truck Visits: Display Truck information for Navisterminal visits only

• Track & Trace: Displays container information fromNavis

• Contact Us: Displays Transnet contact information• Announcements: Displays announcements pushed

from the Transnet Call Centre• Weather: Displays terminal specific weather

information• Register Me: Use this functionality to register your

device



The Vessel Visits screen can be used to display vesselinformation calling at terminals operating Navis andGCOS systems.

• Step 1: Pick a Transnet terminal from the “Select aterminal” drop down list. This will pre-populate thelist of vessels calling at that terminal in the “Select aVessel” list.

• Step 2: Pick a vessel from the pre-populated “Selecta Vessel” list.

• Step 3: Click the “View Details” button

The vessel details will be displayed for the chosenvessel.



The Truck Visits screen can be used to displaytransporter information for trucks calling at terminalsoperating the Navis system.

• Step 1: Enter a valid truck registration number in the“License Number” field.

• Step 2: Click the “View Details” button

The transporter details will be displayed for the enteredtruck registration.



The Track and Trace screen can be used to displaycontainer information for terminals operating the Navissystem. There are currently 3 query options for queryingcontainer information.

In order to return general information for a specificcontainer, use the “Search Containers” query option.

In order to query containers for a specific BookingReference, use the “Booking Reference” query option.

In order to check the pre-advise status of a specificcontainer, use the “Preadvised Check” query option.




For the “Search Containers” query option:

• Step 1: Select the “Search Containers” query option.

• Step 2: Enter the Container Number to be queried.

• Step 3: Select whether the query is for all facilities ora Single Facility.

• Step 4: If the Single Facility is chosen, then select therequired facility from the “Select Facility” drop downlist.

• Step 5: Click the View Details button.

The container details will be displayed for the queriedoption.




For the “Booking Reference” query option:

• Step 1: Select the “Booking Reference” query option.

• Step 2: Enter the Booking Reference to be queried.This option is only valid for All Facilities






For the “Preadvised Check” query option:

• Step 1: Select the “Preadvised Check” query option.

• Step 2: Enter the Container Number to be queried.This option is only valid for All Facilities





The Announcements screen displays vital Transnet terminal announcements pushed from theTransnet Call Centre.

In order to view any announcements, click on the Announcements icon which can be found onthe App landing page. This will display the Title for the announcement – Diagram 1.

Click on a specific Announcement title to view the details – Diagram 2.

The Weather screen displays weather conditions at thespecified Transnet terminal.

Note: This weather information does not pertain to thecity’s weather information but rather weatherconditions experienced at the specified terminal.



The Register Me screen allows users of SpotLight toregister their devices for a greater user experience inthe near future.

Step 1: Enter the details in the specified fields. TheActivation Code must be left blank initially as this willbe emailed once Step 2 below is completed.

Step 2. Click Register Me. This will generate theActivation Code and email it to the specified EmailAddress.

Step 3. Enter the received Activation Code via email inthe Activation Code field.

Step 4. Click Register Me again.

The registration confirmation notice will be displayed onthe screen as well as emailed to the user of the App.
