KIALLA CENTRAL PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Page 3

It is an extremely busy time of the year with lots of things going on as we finish off this current school year and plan for 2020.

There are still lots of activities for the students to participate in including: 1. Whole School Christmas Lunch; 2. Orientation Day ~ where all students spend a day in their 2020 class; 3. Grade 6 Graduation: 4. Special Event and out of uniform day; 5. School Concert and Presentations. As well as Semester 2 Academic Reports going home on Friday 13th December.

Speaking of Graduation, our Grade 6 students and their families were given their

invites. They have chosen: their theme “Dress to Impress”, their colours and more importantly their menu. This is a very special event that has become a tradition at Kialla Central. Our graduating students have tea at school with the staff which is catered for by our Parents’ Club. Family and friends then join them with a presentation called “Primary School Memories and Future Dreams” before enjoying supper, which is also provided by Parents’ Club. It is a personal celebration of our students success.

Last Friday Parents’ Club organised a Pizza lunch for our students. As usual it was well supported with lots of happy kids enjoying their pizza. A big thank you to Tracy Blake, Stacey & Emmerson Rae, Annette Hunt and Lisa Irwin for helping serve lunch. This process is now a well oiled machine.

Parents’ Club have our traditional Christmas lunch under control. We are extremely fortunate to sit down as a whole school and share a 2 course Christmas lunch over in the Kialla District Hall. It is such a unique experience that our students have the opportunity to be part of. A big thank you to Parents’ Club because without them we simply wouldn’t be able to host such an event.

This year we are going to use our K.C.P.S. Rebel Seasons Pass Redemption Program Rewards for our

Christmas Raffle prizes. Families can be part of the redemption program by connecting their Rebel card to our school account. This program has been extremely profitable for K.C.P.S. and well supported by our families and staff. In the past we have asked for donations from our families but I’m trying something new this year.

There is a uniform order form attached to this newsletter for Term 1 2020. Our suppliers close down over the Christmas/New Year period so we need to place our orders in early December to

ensure our order is here by our booklist pick up days or at the latest the start of school. I encourage you to place an order and not rely on stock being in the cupboard. Thank you for your co-operation.

Our Outside School Hours Care Program is being well attended which is fantastic to see. Our busiest

day is Tuesday which is at capacity of 19, most weeks, and we have actually started a waiting list for Tuesdays. If your child/ren are regulars on a Tuesday, but you don’t require our OSHC service on a particular week please let us know in advance. This will allow us to put those waiting on the list for our OSHC service. Last Tuesday we knocked families back and ended up having 5 vacancies available that weren’t filled. I appreciate your support with this request.

Thank you to Tim Daws and Bob Scott who mowed our grounds over the weekend. The grass areas look great. Thanks also to Andrew Ryan for replacing the broken oval and front sprinklers. A message from Andy: Mowers please be aware as a couple of the oval sprinklers were given an unexpected $50 haircut. Thanks to Bruce Bartlett for helping me clean up the future cubby site area by getting rid of the weeds.

Congratulations to Amy Howard (OSHC) who has a teaching position at Kialla West next year. We wish Amy all the best for her teaching career!

Some of our families will remember Miss Sarah Anderson (now Simmons). I am thrilled to announce Trent and Sarah had a little girl last week Mia Elizabeth. Dad is as proud as punch, Mum and bubs are doing well! Debbie Humphries ~ Proud Principal
