    Square T4-08 & T4-12 – Basic Guidelines

    T4-08 • Square T4-08 is focused to machine cast

    iron, with good performance when machining steel material (acceptable performance when machining stainless steels)

    • Advantages of especially the small dimensions

    − Cutter range starts from Ø16 mm with D.O.C capability 8 mm (max ap)

    − Sq6-04 D.O.C capability max 4 mm − Sq6-08 cutter range starts from Ø40 mm

    (max ap = 8 mm)

    • Pay attention when machining slotting/shouldering under multiple cuts

    − Risk of chip hammering with cutter body dimensions from Ø32 mm

    − Decrease the radial D.O.C in order to avoid chip hammering on the wall section

    T4-12 • Square T4-12 is focused on machining

    steels and cast irons, with acceptable performance when machining stainless steels

    • Advantages of T4-12 range − Cutter range starts from Ø25 mm

    with D.O.C capability 12 mm (max ap)

    − Sq6-04 D.O.C capability max 4 mm − Sq6-08 cutter range starts from

    Ø40 mm (max ap = 8 mm)

    • When slotting or contouring with radial depth of cut > 50 %, a D.O.C = 6 mm recommended

    • When contouring with radial depth of cut < 25 %, it is possible to use full D.O.C (12 mm)
