About the MBA (Agribusiness management) Program:

To be a premier Institution in the world to promote Sustainable Agribusiness Management to ensure Progress, Prosperity and Peace

The Agribusiness value chain in India, including farming, lacks professional management for want of professionally trained

manpower, with appropriate managerial skills. In order to bridge the gap, SSABA in collaboration with Karnataka State Open

University, Mysore, which is established by Karnataka State Government and recognized by Ministry of Human Resource

Development , Government of India; has launched a Two year full time, regular post graduate degree program. This is not a

correspondence/ distance education program. The MBA Agribusiness Management degree offered is equivalent to the

degree offered by any other University and the students, after successfully completing the programme can pursue their higher

education.

Scope:

In addition to the MBA (Agribusiness management), the student enrolling in SSABA will also have an advantage to pursue the PGP-Agribusiness Management course with value added courses that are relevant to the current Agribusiness needs.

Following specializations are offered to students viz., Commodity marketing, Agricultural Input Management, Food processing, and Food retailing.

Thus at the end of the course, the students will have the advantage of securing two certificates i.e. MBA-ABM and PGP-ABM. This will expand their career options in the following areas.

1) Agricultural financial institutions, such as Commercial banks, Rural Banks, Micro Finance Institutions (MFI), etc. 2) Commodity marketing 3) Marketing of Agricultural Inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, farm machinery and irrigation equipments etc.

4) Production management in Agro-based industries such as corporate farming, Food processing industries, etc. 5)Organizing backward and forward linkages for producers,processors, marketing agencies, and consumers. 6) Agricultural Export and Import industries7) Agricultural risk management and Insurance sector8) Food retailing sector 9) Setting up of own agro-Industries. 10) Market research organizations.

Selection Process:

Commencement:

A) Entrance Test is compulsory.Test will be for 100 marks consisting of General Knowledge, Quantitative ability, English Language and Logical reasoning. However, CAT/MAT/XAT passed students are exempt from Entrance Test

B) Non-agriculture graduates should pass Sri Sri Agribusiness Academy- Agriculture Proficiency Test in addition to the mandatory Entrance Test on the same day

C) Candidate with relevant work experience will be given preference D) Final Admission will be based on the performance in the Entrance test, Group discussion, Personal Interview and

marks obtained in the final degree examination

The programme will commence from August/September.Any decision taken by the Academy on admission, commencement, number of seats and related matters from time to time shall be final.

How to Apply:

Enclosures to be given at the time of submitting the application form:

a. Graduates from any discipline with a minimum of 50% (minimum 3years degree program after 10+2).

b. NRI and the foreign students could apply through respective Embassies

Application form can be downloaded from the SSIAST Trust website (www.ssiast.org). The filled in application form along with the enclosures and a DD of Rs. 1000 drawn in favor of “SSIAST Trust” payable at Bangalore, may be submitted to the Sri Sri Agribusiness Academy, SSIAST Trust, 21st KM, Kanakapura Road, Udayapur Post, Bangalore-560082 or the amount can also be deposited in the bank by ECS system. The details of the account are given in the box

Each application form should be accompanied with the following:a) Demand Draft as prescribed.b) Attested copies of certificates of proof of age, qualifications, mark list of qualifying examination and nationality

certificate.c) Three pass port size photographs (latest)

Documents sent with the application are not returnable. DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS.Any candidate who is found to have willfully or otherwise given any particulars which are false or has suppressed material information or does not satisfy the requisite qualification for admission, shall be liable for disqualification.
