PROJECTS Careena A Virtual Career Adviser Mar 2016May 2016 Lead a design project for my “Creating Interactive Media” class. The purpose of the app is to provide career advice to high school and college students who are trying to figure out their callings as well as ways to reach their career goals. Served as the design researcher on the threeperson team. Consulted research papers on the topic of career decision making. Interviewed over 10 participants to understand the motives behind career selection and how they sought after advice. Facilitated design thinking sessions to uncover patterns of our target user’s behavior. Designed conversation maps of how the user will interact with the AI assistant. Conducted a usability test to see how the users were able to navigate through the prototype. Political Psychology Project Jan 2014May 2014 Designed a political psychology project for my “Experimental Projects In Cognitive Science” class. The goal of this study was to understand the differences in voting behavior between Moderates and Partisans using textual information of a policy. Designed three sets of surveys with five short paragraph policies each (Healthcare, Social, Economic, Education, and Foreign) with different tones in political leaning (liberal, moderate, or conservative) arranged in arbitrary order. Designed a 7point Likert scale where the participant must select how liberal, moderate, or conservative the tone of the policy is followed by whether they would vote for the policy or not. Analyzed the data using 2Factor ANOVA on SAS. Currently continuing this study but with a larger, more diverse sample size as a side project.
