INTRODUCTION

Directing is an important function of management. Direction becomes essential and necessary because without direction the human resources become inactive and thereby physical resources becomes useless. The execution of plans is accomplished by directing people what to do and how to do it, ensuring that they do it in the best possible manner.

MEANING

Direction is concerned with instructing, guiding and inspiring people in the organization to achieve the organizational goals. This function is performed at every stage and at every level of management.

ELEMENTS

Direction has four elements: Supervision Motivation Leadership Communication

CONCLUSION

Directing is concerned with instructing, guiding and inspiring people in the organization to achieve objectives. Every manager in an organization gives direction to his subordinates.
