Parish Survey Results Over the last few weeks, we have been sharing information with you regarding the survey results. Thanks to those who responded.

#6 Would you like to see the Church do more community service projects? 10 replied Yes, 3 replied No. #6a If so, can you suggest any projects or any changes to project that we’ve done in the past? 1) Food Drives; 2) Habitat for Humanity; 3) Baby Grace; 4) More stuff with the youth (no other suggestions for improvement were given). Several people responded to meet in the church hall. NEXT WEEK: How can we help our Church grow in spirituality and number?

Totus Tuus (Totally Yours) is a FUN and ENERGETIC parish-based summer catechetical program for school age children, junior high, and high school youth. A team of college students and seminarians will be

at our parish the week of June 24-30.

The daytime program will run from 9:00AM to 2:30PM for students in grades 1-5. (June 25-30). The evening session will run from 7:30PM to 9:30PM for junior high (6-8) and high school (9-12) youth. (June 24-29) Please register by June 16 so we know how many students to expect. Registration forms are available through our website, and at church or the parish office.

HOW CAN YOU HELP? 1. We will be in need of some adult helpers for the day program, as well as a “Crew” to help

coordinate snacks and meals for the week. 2. We are also looking for host housing for the team — one for the women and one for the men. 3. We are looking for monetary donations to cover the cost of the program (team + their meals,

snacks, etc.) Please contact Kris Stodgel at the parish office if you are interested in helping or have any questions regarding this program.

Totus Tuus June 24-30

Please pray for the repose of the souls of Joy Walker, mother of Elizabeth Atkinson, who passed away on May 16 in Lake St. Louis, MO, and for Lawrence Oser, who passed away on May 18 in Pilot Grove, MO. May the

souls of your faithful departed, Joy and Lawrence, through Your mercy, Oh God, rest in peace, and may their family and friends receive comfort from the Lord.

We will have a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit available beginning in June. Rent is $500/month.

Father Basil, Dan Schuster, and Kelly Rohrbach will host our next Baptism Preparation Class in June (date TBD). All expecting parents or new parents who wish to have their child baptized need to attend this class. Please call the parish office ASAP at 882-6468 for more information or to register.

The Knights of Columbus pool is accepting memberships — they are set to open up this Saturday. Family membership is $160. The pool is open from 1pm-7pm, Monday-Friday and on holidays. The season will end on August 13. Pool parties are also available before and after normal pool hours for $75. For more information, or if you are interested in a membership for your family, contact Bruce Gentry at 888-9195.

Collection for Flood Relief June 10-11 Storms in our state from April 28-May 4 brought much flooding to areas of south central Missouri, destroying roads, bridges, buildings, and closing roads including state highways and I44 and I55. Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri have been involved initially with flood relief assistance. Numerous households in the Diocese of Jefferson city were affected and will need continued support. Please consider donating to these flood victims. Checks can be made payable to the parish, but mark them “Flood Relief” in the memo field.

School Office Hours this Summer: The school office w ill be open daily in the mornings through June 2. After that date, please call to verify that someone is available (882-2589). You can also

Eye on Stewardship To date, we have received 128 (21%) of the 608 Stewardship forms that were sent out several weeks ago. Thanks to those that have responded promptly. If not, please complete and return as soon as possible. As Father Basil stressed at weekend Masses, Stewardship is vital for the health of our Parish. We need your input and know you will respond. Telephone calls will commence in June to families that we have not completed and returned their Stewardship forms. — SS. Peter & Paul Stewardship Committee

ANSWERING A CALL TO SERVE MEN ARE CALLED TO A YEAR OF DISCERNMENT TOWARDS THE DIACONATE

2017 is a recruitment year for men who may be interested in becoming a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Jefferson City. Several informa onal mee ngs will be held around the Diocese for men who feel they may have a calling to this ministry or want to learn more about it.

Two mee ngs are currently scheduled: Sunday, June 18, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 421 Third St., Glasgow, MO, following the 11:00 a.m. Mass Tuesday, July 18, at St. George Catholic Church, 613 East Main St., Linn, MO, following a 6:00 p.m. Mass Two addi onal mee ngs are an cipated in the Northeast area of the Diocese and in the Lake Ozark area. Look for these dates and loca ons to be announced in a future edi on of the Catholic Missourian.

These mee ngs will provide informa on about the Diaconate, the forma on program, what poten al deacons can expect, and what the Diocese expects from them. Several permanent deacons, men currently in forma on, and their wives will be available to speak to the group or individuals to answer ques ons about this voca on. Wives of interested men are also strongly encouraged to a end to have their ques ons and concerns addressed.

If you know of any men who have expressed a desire to serve the Church in this way, please pray for them and encourage them to seek out this opportunity to serve.

Sacramental and Spiritual Life of the Parish

Volunteers Anyone who is volunteering on a regular basis with the Youth at church or the school is REQUIRED to attend a VIRTUS session. Contact the parish office for more details, or visit www.virtus.org.

Baptism—Preparation is required for both parents, preferably during the early months of pregnancy. Classes

are held in February, June, and October.

Christian Initiation of Adults —Adults interested in inquiring about becoming Catholic are invited to participate in this process. Sessions are held on Monday evening September through May. Contact

Deacon Dave Miller, 888-6827, for more information on the process.

Parish School of Religion: Meets on Sundays from September through April at the school, 9:00-10:30AM. Coordinator: January Wadeen.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament First Friday after 8:15AM Mass until Saturday 8:00AM. Please come and pray for one hour with the Lord.

New Parishioners—Take advantage of “belonging” to your parish. Stop by the office to register, ask questions, get involved and enjoy parish activities, Welcome!

Legion of Mary meets every Monday at 9:00AM in the Parish Office building. Their main ministry in our Parish is to reach out to other people to witness the Good News of Jesus. Please call the Parish Office for more information.

The Cursillo movement is active in our Parish. The Women’s Group contact is Ruth Wells (660-848-2490); they meet on Wednesday evenings at 5:30PM. The Saturday Morning Group meets in the parish office; contact Dave or Sue Miller at 888-6827 or 537-0437.

Ministry to the Hospitalized and Homebound—Please contact the office when a parishioner is hospitalized or sick; we will schedule a visit and communion call, as appropriate. Due to patient confidentiality, the parish is not automatically notified of hospital admissions. **Any parishioner in need of transportation to/from Mass, please contact the office and we will attempt to schedule a ride for you. **
