This Sunday, March 5 is the first Sunday in the 2017 Lenten Season. Lent is a
40-day period of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in preparation for Easter. This is a
season of repentance and conversion—a time to create habits of the mind and heart
that are centered on Christ.

Spotlight on Stewardship
“It is written: The Lord, your God, shall you worship and
him alone shall you serve.” Matthew 4:10
Tempted between the riches and power of this world and
service to God, Jesus chose service to His Father. If we
wish to truly follow Jesus, we, too, must decide to turn
away from power and riches and put God at the center of
our lives. How is God calling you to serve?
Ministry Spotlight
Prayer Ministry St. Anne Church's Prayer Ministry is perfect for those who
want to be involved but need something they can do
from home, on their own time. The Prayer Ministry is a
group of parishioners who pray daily in their own homes
for the intentions of others. There are several teams;
each has a designated team leader. As prayer intentions
are identified, members are notified by their team leader
to pray for specific intentions. A Prayer Booklet has been
developed for Prayer Ministry members. If you'd like
more information about the Prayer Ministry, please
contact Betty Horiuchi at [email protected].
