Ramona De La Cerda-Ilg Secretary / Secretaria “I am here to serve you” or “at your serve” are expressions we use in our daily life almost automatically; they respond to an education that we have acquired together with great values for service and dedication to others. But if we reflect on it, we will notice the deep meaning they have. In Baptism, we were conferred the nature of being God’s children: kings, priests, and prophets. As kings, it would seem that we would be served; but this isn’t about that, since the kingdom of Christ is a kingdom of service. The priest becomes a bridge by making an offering to God. In Christ, the offering is Him, his very person. As such, we will be bridges in our families and communities, and between cultures and convictions. What we receive for free, we must therefore give for free. Jesus accepts death without calculating the personal price to be paid; and, through his death, he gives true life to humanity.

"Estoy aquí para servirlo" o "a su servicio" son expresiones que utilizamos en nuestra vida cotidiana de forma casi automáti-ca; responden a una educación que hemos adquirido junto con grandes valores de servicio y dedicación a los demás. Pero si reflexionamos sobre ello, notaremos el profundo significado que tienen. En el Bautismo, se nos confirió la naturaleza de ser hijos de Dios: reyes, sacerdotes y profetas. Como reyes, parece que nos servirían; pero esto no se trata de eso, ya que el reino de Cristo es un reino de servicio. El sacerdote se convierte en un puente haciendo una ofrenda a Dios. En Cristo, la ofrenda es Él, su misma persona. Como tal, seremos puentes en nuestras familias y comunidades, y entre culturas y convicciones. Lo que recibimos gratis, debemos darlo gratis. Jesús acepta la muerte sin calcular el precio personal a pagar; y, a través de su muerte, le da la vida verdadera a la humanidad.

St. Anne Church is now accepting tuition assistance requests for the school year 2018-19 for children in Catholic elementary and high schools. Applications are now available at the parish of-fice. Please remember that families receiving assistance for the present school year must reapply for next school year; there is no automatic renewal of assistance. Both elementary school and high school applications must be submitted to the parish office by 3/20/2018 please submit your application as soon as possi-ble. In addition, all families seeking tuition assistance must apply online to FACTS Tuition Grant and Aid(https://online.factsmgt.com/aid)by 3/20/2018. (An application fee per family for processing FACTS Applications will apply). Please phone the parish office with any questions.
