Graciela Bruzatori, Financial Administrator / Administradora Financiera Vivir lo que Jesús nos enseña: Ser cristiano es ser seguidor de Jesús y a serlo sólo se aprende siguiendo el camino de la vida con Jesús. Es un camino largo, a veces complicado. En él hay momentos de gozo y alegría y también momentos difíciles. Los discípulos no fueron santos de golpe. En realidad, nadie en la historia de la Iglesia ha sido un perfecto cristiano desde el principio de sus días. A lo largo del camino, Jesús va enseñando a los discípulos. pero como cualquier estudiante no lo entienden todo a la primera. Pero Jesús, el buen maestro, no pierde la calma. Y repite la explicación. Eso es lo que se ve en el Evangelio de hoy. Después de haber hecho tanto camino juntos –ya están cerca del final porque Jesús les está ya anunciando su muerte–, los discípulos discuten entre sí quién es el más importante entre ellos. Se ve que no han enten-dido nada. No importa. Jesús con toda paciencia repite la explicación: “El que quiera ser el primero, que sea el último de todos y el servidor de todos”. Hoy nosotros seguimos necesitando escuchar esa lección de vez en cuando. Porque en nuestra vida, en nuestras familias, en nuestras comunidades, de vez en cuando hay brotes de violencia, de envidia, hay rencores que no nos dejan vivir en paz y que nos amargan la existencia, hay demasiadas aspiraciones a los primeros puestos, a ser importantes. Hoy nos viene bien que Jesús nos repita la lección: “El que quiera ser el primero...” Living What Jesus teaches us: To be a Christian is to be a follower of Jesus and to be one only learns by following the path of life with Jesus. It's a long, sometimes complicated road. In it there are moments of joy and also difficult moments. The disciples were not holy at once. In fact, no one in the history of the church has been a perfect Christian since the beginning of his days. Along the way, Jesus is teaching the disciples. But, as any student does not understand everything at first. But Jesus, the good teacher, does not lose his temper and repeats the explanation. That's what you see in today's gospel. Having taken so many roads together – they are near the end because Jesus is already announcing his death – the disciples discuss among themselves who is the most important among them. You see that they have not understood anything. But Jesus in all patience repeats the explanation: "The one who wants to be the first, to be the last of all and the servant of all." Today we still need to hear that lesson from time to time. Because in our lives, in our families, in our communities, occasionally there are outbreaks of violence, of envy, there are grudges that do not let us live in peace and that we are bitter, there are too many aspirations to the first positions, to be important. Today it is good for Jesus to repeat the lesson: "Whoever wants to be the first..."

You are invited and encouraged to partner with the Vincen-tians in their Kenya Mission. Our parish has been blessed with the gifts of many Vincentians over the years. In an ef-fort to support the Vincentians Mission in Kenya, there will be a second collection the weekend of 9/30/2018. Please help the Vincentians reach the poor at their five parishes and 24 outstations. Your generosity will help pro-vide clean, stable water to more than 6,ooo people at St. John Paul II and Our Lady of the Assumption Parishes in Kenya.

before, during and after the food festival to make this all come about. La Sra. Lizco de Inmaculado Corazón de María en Marche fue la ganadora del 1er premio.
