To Whom It May Concern, In a continued effort to foster the appreciation and support of the visual arts in St. Catharines and the Niagara Region, and to promote artistic development for its members, the St. Catharines Art Association has begun plans for the 4th Annual Art Lovers’ Affair, Show & Sale (ALASS) for February 8 - 10, 2019 at Hernder Estate Wines in St. Catharines. As in the past, the three-day Show & Sale will feature a Silent Auction in addition to the many display boards full of outstanding artwork by local emerging and established Niagara area artists. The highlight of the event will be the evening fundraiser, The Art Lovers’ Affair, on Saturday, February 9, 2019, hosted by local celebrities Peter Dychtiar and Rita Carrey of the Pete and Reet Show. During the evening there will be a juried Live Auction, musical entertainment by Cory Cruise, complimentary wine, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, raffles, door prizes, and some surprises to help us all celebrate the love of art. Part of the proceeds of this event will go towards the SCAA Art Education Scholarship Fund, an annual endeavour to give back to the Niagara community. This scholarship is offered to high school art students who plan to continue their education in the visual arts at a post-secondary level. Last year we awarded $800 to local students, and every year we hope to give even more; therefore, we are seeking sponsors and donations to help us with our fundraising event. Please see the next page for details on the levels of sponsorships and entitlements. Based on attendance in the past, we anticipate several hundreds of people will attend the three-day show, with over 100 in attendance at the Affair. Not only would your support help change the lives of future artists in your community, but would also help the St. Catharines Art Association with its mission: to promote and foster the visual arts through continued leadership and connections among its members, the arts community, and the general public.
