LECTIO DIVINA One of the oldest and simplest ways of praying is to pray with the Scriptures. We take a short passage, mull it over and simply let the Spirit speak to us through the words and guide us to reflecons that may seem to come from no-where. This form of pray is called “Leco Divina” or scrip-tural Prayer. It consists of the slow reading of Scripture, without worrying about geng through a whole passage or a whole page. When something catches our aenon, we stay with it, talk to God about it, or simply rest with God for a while. Then we read on slowly unl something else catches us, and we stay with it for as long as we wish.

In Leco Divina we are not trying to learn about Scripture or systemacally read the Bible. We are trying to be with God and let God speak to us through the words . Use any text from Sacred Scripture. Give it a try. Most people are sur-prised at how easy it is to pray this way. This prayer can become a deep experience with God.

IIf you require a statement of your contribuons for 2017, kindly forward your request to Cassie Dunn, please enclose a self ad-dressed stamped large envelop or email Cassie at [email protected]. We can only verify donaons that you have made in your contribuon envelopes. TY for your generosity!

STEUBENVILLE 2018 THEME “REVEALED”

“In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him.” 1John 4:9 We live in a world where there are voices shouting at us from all sides, trying to tell us who we are and who we aren’t, who we should be and who we shouldn’t be. If we pay too much attention to these voices, it won’t be long before we forget our true identify altogether. But amidst all the noise is our loving Father, who wants to make Himself known to us and speak truth about who we are. God’s love is deeper and His plan for our lives is greater than anything the world has to offer—will we allow Him to reveal it to us? This summer, over 50,000 Catholic teens across North America will participate in 25 Steubenville Youth Conferences, and we want you to be one of them! Come experience the love of God in a new and more profound way. He has so much in store for you.

YD groups are currently in session. Approximately 30 of our youth are involved. The make-up of groups, leaders, and participants can be found by going to our website www.saint-cyril.com and then to the youth min-istry tab. The group of senior and junior boys is on-going but has available space. Also new groups can al-ways be formed. Should you be interested in your son or daughter being involved in this dynamic ministry please contact Dan Rackers at 215-896-6649.
