This Week’s Meetings and Activities

Eucharistic Adoration Eucharistic Adoration is adoring or honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ; it involves the contemplation of Christ truly present before us. Eucharistic Adoration is every Friday for one hour after the 8:30 am Mass. In addition all are invited to St. Ferdinand Church for a 12

hour Eucharistic Adoration every first Friday from 8:00 pm—8:00 am. At least two must be present at all times; sign-up sheets, for each month, are on the bulletin board in the Narthex.

Divine Mercy Chaplet

Through this beautiful devotion our prayers ask for God’s healing and mercy. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in church. Please join us for prayer and Eucharistic Adoration.

Christmas Vacation for Pre/K through Grade 6

Family Centered will resume January 3, and Faith Formation classes will resume January 6.

EDGE There are no EDGE classes this week. Have a Happy New Year and we’ll see you next week! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Sr. High Retreat

Did you ever wish you were different? Maybe taller or thinner or a different eye color? How about smarter, more athletic, or artistically talented? God has a plan for all of us to be different but maybe not in the same

ways we want. God isn’t concerned about what shows on the outside…He cares about what comes from within. The Stations Retreat, Different, is for those who want to take time to strengthen your relationship with Jesus and make the first steps in discovering the person He wants you to be. You’ll also have fun with friends and the team. You don’t have to be in Living Stations to participate. All high school students are welcome. The weekend is January 18-20, at the Christ, Our Shepherd Center (formerly the Bishop Connare Center) in Greensburg. The price includes transportation, lodging, supplies, and all meals for the weekend. The fee is $95.00. For more information check the website at www.stferdym.org.

Tuesday, January 1, 8:30 am, 12:00 pm & 7:00 pm

Mary the Mother of God

On the very first day of every new year, January 1st, the Church appropriately honors the Blessed Virgin Mary with a Marian feast day and a Holy Day of Obligation. The title by which she is honored on this day is also the first Marian dogma defined by the Church: Mary, the Mother of God. Today we celebrate the Motherhood of Mary as the vessel through whom the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, Jesus Christ, took on a human nature. This feast day also appropriately falls on the 8th day after the Nativity of Our Lord, or on the final day of the Octave of Christmas. catholiccompany.com

Donut Social The three Bible Study groups

will sponsor a donut social next week in the Narthex. Please stop by for a treat and to meet other parishioners. What can you find on our new website?

During this time of transition, to help us grow in unity with Holy Redeemer and St. Gregory, we

have launched our new combined website. Please visit stferd.org to become familiar with the new website. Scroll on St. Ferdinand on the top bar to view a complete menu. You will also be able to view the Mass schedule, priest schedule, bulletin, calendar of events, a welcome page, safe environment clearance information, and prayers for our military. If you are traveling, there is a link to find a parish in any city. You can access the ministry scheduler and Facebook. In addition, you can view links for worship, faith formation, ministries, organizations, and general parish information of not only St. Ferdinand but of St. Gregory and Holy Redeemer also. Call 724.776.2888 or email [email protected] if you need assistance locating something.
