I feel so very privi-leged to have worked with such wonderful children and supportive parents. May God bless you all’. This time there was a shepherd who spoke to us and we all put cloths on our heads to look like shepherds. While we were with the shepherd the angel ap-peared again and told us about the birth of a special baby in Bethlehem. So we all left the tent and went on the next part of our journey. We sat down in front of a stable and there were animal puppets talking about the birth of Jesus. There was a sheep, a donkey, a cow and a camel.
We also had time to
look around the mu-
seum and we were
amazed to see bana-
na trees growing in the Winter Gardens.
We even had to be really quiet as we
looked around the art gallery - well
almost!
We learned how to stop and start, turn corners, signal with our hands, learnt all the different junctions and how to use them correctly, how to
pass parked cars and much, much more!!! Through this we have all learnt something new and we will never
forget this experience! Remember to always wear a hel-met when riding your bike.
In November 2014 Y5 had a special opportunity to do bikeability. Our les-sons were going on the road to cycle, where we were taught the safety of the road and how to cycle on it. Eve-ry Wednesday morning or after-noon was met with complete ex-citement and we always looked forward to our session. We wrapped up warm in our hats, scarfs and gloves and many other warm clothes on a freezing day but it was worth all of it.

Last term Year 4 visited the
Sunderland Museum and Winter Gar-
dens. We had been learning about
the water cycle in class and this was
the
perfect
opportunity to
consolidate
our learning.
See if you can match the process to its description?
At the beginning of December Y2 went to All Saint’s Church to take part in the Christmas Journey. To start the after-noon we learned all about the story of Creation and then started the exciting part… We went into a little tent and a lady called Mary was there – she had just baked some bread so we all had a piece to taste. It was really good. But then an angel came into the tent and told her she was going to have a baby. We all knew it was Angel Gabriel and the baby was going to be Jesus. Mary left .and we went into another tent.
The next tent we went into had a funny smell – it was incense be-cause this was the Wise Men’s tent. The last tent had a Christmas Tree and presents. We all made an angel to take home and hang on our trees. It was a great visit and we all really en-joyed taking part in the Christmas Jour-ney…then it was back to school and our own Christmas play.

Year 6 went to the safety carousel, and learned about: fire; electricity; safety at sea; gas; road safety and cyberbullying. We learnt about safety outside and inside our school. We should be safe and have care where ever we go. When we learnt about fire we completed a quiz about what you will do in an emer-gency of a fire. You should be safe on the roads and especially when you’re cy-cling. Watch the roads when you are crossing and stay safe. We also learned to be safe online. We need to be careful when using social networking sites such as: Fa-cebook, twitter, movietarplanet and stardom.
The next workshop we went into was the electricity safety room where we learned about being safe around high voltage electrici-ty buildings and factories. Next, we went to a Northern Gas
workshop. We learned about what to do when carbon monoxide leaks in your house. Finally, in the Safe at Sea workshop we
learned about a saying called F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The safety carousel was great fun and we would definitely go again.
awarded a certificate for our ex-
cellent performance.
Year 3 attended the Gymnastics
festival at Deerness Gymnastics
Academy on Thursday 20th Novem-
ber. We had spent a long time get-
ting our routine just right and put-
ting into practice all of the skills
that we had learnt with Mr Whar-
ton. It was very exciting to perform
in front of all the other schools on
the special sprung floor. We were

carols for them.
A big thank you
to everyone
who has helped us.
Year 1 have had a very busy term and one of the things we really enjoyed was performing our Na-tivity before Christmas. It was called ‘Prickly Hay’ and one of the most fun things was standing on the stage and perform-ing in front of our par-ents! We really loved getting dressed up in our cos-tumes and playing our parts. We think Elsie and Oliver made a
brilliant Mary and Joseph! We all worked really hard to learn our lines and we practised our songs so that our performanc-
es were as good as we could make them. We really hope that
you enjoyed watch-
ing us as much as we
enjoyed performing for you
and we can’t wait for next
year’s already!
St. Godric’s were very excit-ed when we heard there was to be a cheerleading club. We were all beginners at the sport at first but with the fabulous coaching sup-
port from Chloe we quickly improved our skills. The club took part on a Tuesday morning be-
fore school. We made up routines and re-
hearsed balances; she was very impressed by
our quick progress throughout the year. We
were delighted when we were asked to per-
form our routine for the whole school. We
can’t wait to continue this term.
