Names: Tim and Jean Logsdon

Originally from: Tim = Macomb, Illinois; Jean = Newport, Nebraska. They met at Peru State College in Nebraska and moved to Buckeye in 1979.

St. Henry Parishioners since: July 1979

Favorite Saint(s): St. Anthony of Padua and St. Teresa of Avila

Bible passage Motto: Tim’s: (Psalm 23:4) "Even though I walk through the valley of darkness, I fear no evil for thou art with me." Jean’s: (Matthew 11:28) "Come to me, all you who are weary and I will give you rest."

Tim and Jean will be married 51 years this coming August 18th.

They raised two girls and one boy and now have 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Tim and Jean worked for the Buckeye Union High School District for a combination of 53 years. Tim as a teacher, head football coach and athletic director. Jean as an administrative assistant to the nurse at BUHS for 20 years, then as administrative assistant to the principal at Estrella Foothills High School for another 10 years.

Over the years Jean has been an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Sacristan, Catechist for RCIA Teen Confirmation and helped re-establish The Ladies of St. Henry group.

Tim's hobbies are fishing and golfing while Jean's are painting pictures and photography. Both love going to the movies and antiquing.

Easter Blessings from the Pastor

It is beginning to warm up now that Spring is officially here, but I can feel things warming up in another way here at our Catholic parish of St. Henry in Buckeye. I can feel the growth. And not just population growth; that’s evident all over town. But I can sense new seeds of faith popping up. Do you know that because of the diligent work of our adult catechists, that over 10 couples who attended our “Foundations in Catholicism” course last fall have decided to sacramentally convalidate their civil marriages! Do you know that we will have THREE special Confirmation Masses in April & May – one outside in the desert of Tonopah near our dairy mission at which Bishop Olmsted himself will officiate! Our Friday morning Faith Study series continues to fill the room. The Knights of Columbus had their best Lenten Fish Fry on rec-ord! Lenten nightly adoration was well-attended. The St. Henry-only showing of “St. Paul: Apostle of Christ” movie at Harkins Estrella Falls was a sell-out (we could have booked another theatre judging by the demand for tickets - but please go see the movie on your own while it’s still in theaters!) Our winter residents continue to share their light with outstanding support of our parish and our mission of getting the Catechesis Center built. Yes, the faith is popping up all over and our plans at St. Henry are aimed at being ready to nurture the faith to prepare for the great day of harvest! Easter blessings! ~ Fr. Kosco

Bendiciones de Pascua del Párroco

Ahora que oficialmente es primavera aquí se siente el calorcito, pero puedo sentir el calorcito de cosas en otra forma aquí en nuestra parroquia Católica San Enrique en Buckeye. Puedo sen-tir el crecimiento. Y no solo la población; esto es evidente en todo el pueblo. Pero puedo percibir nuevas semillas de fe surgir. ¡Sabe usted que por la diligente labor de nuestras catequistas de adultos, mas de 10 parejas quienes asistieron a nuestro curso “Fundamentos en Catolicismo” el otoño pasado han decidido sa-cramentalmente convalidar su matrimonio civil! ¡Sabe usted que tendremos TRES Misas de Confirmación especiales en abril & mayo - una será en el desierto de Tonopah cerca de nuestra mi-sión en la lechería en la cual el propio Obispo Olmstead oficiara!

Nuestra series de Estudio de Fe los viernes sigue llenando el sa-lón. ¡Los Caballeros de Colon tuvieron su mejor venta de Pesca-do Frito en Cuaresma! La Adoración al Santísimo en Cuaresma estuvo muy atendida. El único show de San Enrique de la pelícu-la de “San Paulo: Apóstol de Cristo” en el Harkins Estrella Falls fue una venta total (¡pudiéramos haber reservado otro teatro de acuerdo a la demanda de boletos - pero por favor acuda a ver la película usted mientras se este exhibiendo en los teatros!)

Nuestros residentes de invierno continúan compartiendo su luz apoyando la parroquia en nuestra misión de comenzar a cons-truir el Centro de Catequesis. ¡Si, la fe esta surgiendo en todo, y nuestros planes en San Enrique nos dicen que estaremos listos para nutrir la fe y prepararnos para el gran día de la cosecha! ¡Bendiciones de pascua! ~ Padre Kosco

Buckeye Valley Christian Women’s Fellowship

All ladies of Buckeye Valley churches are invited to attend the salad dessert potluck luncheon and fellowship meeting from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Communi-ty Church of Buckeye, located at 810 E.
