This year for the first time St John’s tried

Messy Church. It was a great success.

Lots of people commented on how engaging,

moving and interesting they found it.

Our first one was on Mothering Sunday and

we are planning the next one for Harvest. If

you would like to be involved do get in touch

with the office.

Date for your diary

7th October, 4pm

Keep up to date with our events and happenings, by visiting our facebook page:

Our premises are in demand for local community events and

various clubs and classes and we welcome the life that these

groups bring.

Our rooms

The Main Hall seats up to 80, and can be used for exercise groups, parties and larger meetings.

The Burnell room is divided by a partition door, which can be opened to one large area or two smaller areas.

A refurbished and well equipped kitchen is included with the hire of the halls.

Toilet facilities, including a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities are also available.

The hall also benefits from an adjoining car park and small playground at the back of the church hall.

The Jubilee Garden located behind the church, is available to hire for small events. A limited number of tables and chairs are available

for use and there is also a BBQ. The Jubilee garden is hired out with the hall; therefore the hirer has use of the toilets, and the hall if the

weather is inclement.

Our current rate for one off bookings is £33.00 per hour. For regular bookings we currently offer a contract at a rate of £15.50 per hour.

Public events requiring payment for entry need to be covered by an entertainment licence.

To book or for further information, please contact the Parish Office on 020 8546 2590 or email [email protected]

Tina Turner Tribute A great evening enjoyed by all who attended. Karin Bello’s por-

trayal of the iconic singer is uncanny. She had each & every

member of the audience singing & dancing and everyone left,

talking about her and how excellent she was. Multiple costume

changes happen without a miss of a beat. Her vocals match Tina

Turner’s and her energy onstage gets the audience on their feet and dancing

within the first few minutes.

Dear all, God longs to bless us. Do you hear His voice calling your name, tell-ing you He loves you, He created you and longs for you to see all He has blessed you with. One of the most simple blessing is that of clean water. When this magazine comes out, many will be fast-ing and not drinking in daylight hours. But may all of us, as we turn on the tap to get a drink this summer, stop and enjoy it, notice if only for a moments how it feels in our mouth. May we say a prayer for those who have no water. If the weather becomes really hot, don’t forget to put some water out for the birds in your garden. There are so many simple blessings we have each day. Give thanks. This hymn below reminds us of our need for God just as our need for water. As the deer panteth for the water, So my soul longeth after thee. You alone are my hearts desire, And I long to worship thee. You alone are my strength, my shield, To You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my hearts desire, And I long to worship thee. You're my friend and You are my brother, Even though you are a king. I love you more than any other, So much more than anything. I want You more than gold or silver, Only You can satisfy. You alone are the real joy Giver, And the apple of my eye.

Yours, Mandy Beck

EASTER HOLIDAY CLUB

This year we once again had a great Easter Holiday

club run by an amazing team of young people and

adults from the Korean congregation. It was all in Eng-

lish so everyone could join in. Here are some pictures.

The church facebook page has a dramatic re-enactment

of the walls of Jericho falling down, along with some

songs.
