from the Pastor Dear Friends in Christ,

Why Go to Church?

If you're spiritually alive, you're going to love this! If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it. If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope!

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made

no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in

that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't

remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are

wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the de-

light of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: "I've been

married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for

the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do

know this. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If

my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I

had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!" When you

are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the

incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual

nourishment!"

All right, now that you're done reading, send it on! I think everyone should read this!

"When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you get that for me?"

This was an email that I received from a friend about 5 years ago. But this has me

thinking, "What is God up to? Even when I am not caring for all and loving my neighbor -

God is still at work saving people." Jesus did not retire to a life of luxury in heaven, He

is still saving lost souls every day. We have been called to join Jesus on His mission.

Come, be fed and nourished, in the Word and Sacrament ministry of the church. Then

go and join Jesus in His mission as a follower of Christ in the neighborhood that you

live in today. After Easter we will study the Biblical principles of Joining Jesus On His Mission, a

book written by Pastor Greg Finke. If you would like to purchase a copy of the book,

they will be available in the narthex for $10 each starting April 6th. Look around you and see how God is at work in your life this week? How is God messing

with you right now? What is God trying to have you pay attention to? What is God invit-

ing you to believe? What is God asking of you? How do you think you are to respond? Serving Our King, Pastor Ed

During

Week

On behalf of The Feith Family, I would like to thank St. Mark for all their cards, love and support for me and my family as we mourn the loss of my brother Daniel Joseph Feith. Your prayers, support and thoughtfulness were a constant reminder of how wonderful com-munity outreach is needed and appreciat-ed. May God continue to bless St. Mark as we daily strive in teaching the faithful, reaching the lost and caring for all. ~ Leo & Merry Feith

Thank you so much for the cards, prayers and visits while I was in the hospital, I didn't think they were ever going to let me out. Many things go through your mind when you have time on your hands, and I'm so blessed to have friends and family that took time out of their day to sit with me or bring me a frosty from Wendy's. Thank you Diane and Pastor for sitting with me and giving me communion and to Pastor Bob for the welcomed visit. Its very comforting to know that your church family loves you. To God be the Glory, God love you, Connie Martin

Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you for all of your support. Your thoughts

and prayers are greatly appreciated,

and very motivating. Your cards have

found me well. Our mission here in

Afghanistan is going fairly smooth and

we hope for a hasty transition home.

God Bless, Chris Ferguson

This month’s puzzle brings us people, places and things which you will find in the

Book of Ephesians. All words are listed vertical or horizontally. After you have found

all of the words, the leftover letters (in order) will spell out a message of the

Book of Ephesians. Answers to puzzles can be requested thru the church office.

Last Months answer from Galatians: Teach a Gospel of faith in Christ

alone.
