FYI: November 29, 2015 – First Sunday of Advent
O Come, O Come Emmanuel and ransom captive Israel.
This weekend we begin a New Church Year, the year of grace 2016 to be exact. In the Cycle of Readings, the Scriptures will be taken from the C – Cycle. The Weekday Scriptures will be taken from Year 2 of the Cycle. Advent is a time of new things, a time of waiting. Traditionally, Advent reminds us that Jesus came once as the Baby in Bethlehem. He has promised that He will come again. When He comes again, He will come as Emmanuel – God-with-us to judge the living and the dead. This Sunday during the 10:00 a.m. & 4:00 p.m. Masses we will officially welcome those men and women who are seeking full communion with the Catholic Church either as catechumens or candidates. I ask all to pray for these men and women as they journey in the R.C.I.A. and for those instructing them in the beauty of the Faith. As we make our preparations for the upcoming Christmas season, let us remind ourselves that Jesus – Emmanuel came once and for all to save us from sin. He came to ransom us from all that binds and enslaves us and to break the chains of terrorism, evil and darkness that keeps us from truly becoming what God has called us to be, namely, Children of the Light and of the Day! I would ask all to please make use of the various Services and Special moments planned for this Advent/Christmas Season. Especially, please note that beginning on December 1st, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered following the 8:00 a.m. Mass on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. Do not forget our Annual Advent Penance Service which will take place on Wednesday, December 16th at 6:30 p.m. for our C.C.D. students followed by Confessions for Adults. Finally, please check the Advent/Christmas Letter for further events or consult the bulletin. Brothers and Sisters, while we have time, let us do Good. ~Fr. Dan
Attention those who wish to become altar servers Practice for those wishing to become an altar server will be on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the main church. Altar serving is open to boys & girls who have made their first Communion and to men & women. Practice will last one hour. Registration Forms are available in the Parish Office. A good start is by learning the responses at Mass.
The St. Mark Council of Catholic Women will hold their annual Christmas Meeting / Party / Pot Luck Luncheon at 10:00 AM in the cafeteria on Saturday, December 5. Members are asked to bring a dish to share, and are encouraged to bring a new gift for the Gift Exchange (suggested value $10.) Snowbirds who can't commit year-round are encouraged to join us, even for a few months. For more information, call Maureen Fulop (561-704-8771) or Marge LaViola (329-4667.) Please call Marie Capasso (561-737-3272) for Pot Luck info. We wish all our members and their families, as well as all parishioners, a blessed Christmas! *Please note that the date of our meeting has been changed from the 2nd Saturday to the 1st Saturday of the month, for December only, so as not to conflict with Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day on December 12th.
The Back to Basics Committee will be collecting gifts on Decemberr 5th & 6th in the Parish Center before and after all the masses. Please have your gift wrapped tagged and delivered no later than 12:00 Noon on Sunday, the 6th. THANK YOU AGAIN for your support!

THE BOOK OF ISAIAH – PART TWO
The author of chapters 40-55 of the Book of Isaiah, writing more than 125 years after the author of chapters 1-39, brought messages of comfort and hope to the people of Israel who were living in exile in Babylon. This Second Isaiah visualized a new and glorious future for Jerusalem and composed the great Servant Songs. Chapters 56-66 of the book were written even later by his disci-ples (known collectively as Third Isaiah), who were living in Jerusalem during the pe-riod when the city and the Temple were be-ing rebuilt. Join us in learning about the poems and prophecies composed by Second Isaiah and his disciples, many of which are included in the readings we hear at Mass. We will meet in the St. Clare Room on Thursday morn-ings at 9:00 a.m., from January 7 to Febru-ary 11. The cost of the course materials is $15. Those who took the Part One course in 2015 can use their materials again for the Part Two course.
Men’s Retreat: Men, would you like to focus your life and relationships on God’s plan for you? Would you like to direct your life using the guidance God provides? If you answered yes to either of these questions then we hope you will join us on Friday evening January 22, until Noon Sunday January 24, 2016 at Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center, located just south of PGA Blvd and Federal Hwy. in North Palm Beach. We begin on Friday evening January 22. Check-in is 5:00PM to 7:45PM. Buffet supper served from 6:00PM to 7:45PM. Passionist Priests will begin the program at 8:00PM. Give yourself the gift of a retreat. Invite a family member, ask a friend. This is the moment- the opportunity- to be renewed - to come and rest in God’s love. The facility is very comfortable and the food is ample and good. Most importantly, the opportunity to give God some dedicated time and attention and renew your spirit is priceless! The registration fee of $50 is due at the time you submit your application. A free will offering can be made for the difference between the $50, and the total cost of the retreat $190, or $140, at your discretion. For further information or to have any of your questions answered please call John Doherty 561-249 -9609 or Vic Coppola at 561-736-7812. Sign up forms will be available in the Narthex.
Due to low participation, the Parish Directory has not been published yet. Life Touch has offered to come out for one more weekend to
allow us to try to fill up our directory! This is a great opportunity if you missed the Free photo shoot the
first time around. This is for all parishioners, full time and seasonal. THIS is absolutely Free and with no obligation. You will receive 1 free 8x10 portrait and a copy of the directory. Father Dan requests all parishioners to take this seriously as a directory is a wonderful and helpful book to have in a parish! The dates will be February 18, 19 & 20. So please watch the bulletin for appointment scheduling in the near future!
And we would like to introduce Gwendolyn Carmichael, David Carmichael’s granddaughter who often comes with her grandpa (faithful Usher at the 4 PM Saturday Mass) and helps distribute our weekly bulletins. Indeed, we are impressed by the talent and enthusiasm exhibited by these young children, as well as, grateful to them for their “Youth Ministry”!
Because we have reached the end of this Month of Remembrance, we will be dismantling the narthex to prepare for the season of Advent. We thank those of you who especially embraced the opportunity of remembering your loved one/s by sharing their photos; we ask you to remove your photo/s by the end of this week. Any that are not taken by Sunday, November 29th , will be placed in the Ministry room (room opposite the sacristy).

There will be two sessions (AM & PM). TUESDAYS (December 8, 15) 2:00PM - 3:30PM
