The “Alice Moran Giving Tree Fund” is available year round. Please feel free to us it for any memorial gift you want to give. We would like to thank Alice’s family for their continued support of this fund.

The “GIVING TREE” is up. There are 3 locations available to pick up an ornament; the 2 side entrances and the back of the church. Each ornament has initials at the top; example: ALTC with a number. A clip-board with a sheet has corresponding initials and numbers. Please put your phone number/name (optional) on the corresponding sheet. This helps us keep track of any ornaments/gifts that haven’t been returned by the due date: December 7th/8th. It is not necessary to buy all items listed on the ornament. These are only suggestions. The ornament usually has gender and sometimes age. Please wrap the gift. Even if it’s a gift certificate, everyone likes to open presents and it’s safer. Tape the ornament to the gift. Please use SCRIP when possible. If you would rather give money, we will shop for you. There are always families in need. Your prayers for the person/persons are always welcome and appreciated. If you have questions call Linda Andre: 920-487-2542 or Mary Bohman: 920-487-3197. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

May God bless you.

St. Mary School News

Welcome into this beautiful continuing season of fall; where God has blessed us in many ways; but especially in the beauty of nature this time of year.

My name is Mrs. Michele Schaefer, and I am the second grade teacher at St. Mary. I am originally from the Mil-waukee area; growing up in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This is my third year teaching at St. Mary School in Algoma, WI. It is my nineteenth year of instruction as a teacher; and I have taught in both Wisconsin and California.

In our school, the teachers have been working very diligently; by providing our students with a variety of learn-ing academic opportunities in the classroom; but also through some new cooperative whole school learning ex-periences as well. Each week the students have been learning about a different character education trait; which will help them become stronger examples of Christ.

The students are also getting the opportunity to learn about a different country each month. Interesting facts are being learned about these countries, and with these facts the students are able to sample foods from the countries. So far the students have learned about Greece and Austria. They are always excited and anticipate discovering what country the Yum-Yum has next.

In the month of November; to remember our countries national holiday of Veterans Day, the students will be participating collaboratively as well; by putting together hero bags for our current military members of our armed services. This is a way the children can give thanks for all that they do for our country.

Finally, the teachers at our school would like to thank the parents for assisting with our school’s Halloween events this year. The students enjoyed themselves with the activities planned by our fantastic parents! I also want to thank all the parishioners and benefactors for continuing to support the mission of St. Mary School. This is a wonderful school, and we are so proud to showcase our I accomplishments together. Please feel free to stop in to see what makes this wonderful Catholic learning establishment so special!

Blessings,

Mrs. Michele Schaefer

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Generous and merciful God, we thank you for your abundant gifts to us.

As we celebrate this Thanksgiving feast, we ask you to send your Spirit,

to open our hearts to you and our neighbor, that we may share the gifts you have given us

as your Son Jesus taught us to.

Thank you for the many blessings of our lives: our family and friends,

our home and the food we eat, our health and employment.

We ask your blessing on all gathered here today, and all your people throughout the world,

through Christ your Son. Amen.

A heartfelt thank you to those who participated in the Collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. Your prayers and generosity will support the unique ministry to men and women who currently protect this great nation of ours and defend the freedoms we hold dear. You have also helped to provide the sacraments and pastoral care for Catholic veterans who served with distinction.
