Family Faith Formation To those of you blessed with children, you may have noticed that we are in a season of change with our religious education programs. We will be saying a fond farewell to Tina Anderson as our Religious Education Coordinator, but we are thankful that she will continue at St. Mary’s as our fearless director of Music Ministry. We are happy to announce that Jennifer Morrison is our new Religious Ed Coordinator! Jen has been a resident of the Palouse since 1995 when she came down from Coeur d'Alene to attend the University of Idaho. While in school she met her husband John, and together they have made Moscow their home with their two children, Jack and Sebastian. While in school Jen attended St. Augustine's, but after moving off campus she began to faithfully attend St. Mary's. Over the years she has been involved in various ministries ranging from hospitality and eucharistic ministry to choir and the Catholic Women’s League. She has spent most of her career serving the community at a veterinary office and sharing her home with a multitude of animals. In her spare time, Jen can be found enjoying the outdoors, painting, cooking, or playing in her backyard garden. Jen will join Katharine Covill (Middle School Youth Group Coordinator) and Susie Johnson (High School Youth Group Coordinator) to round out our Family Faith Formation team. Speaking of Family Faith Formation, the COVID-19 pandemic has given the Family Faith Formation team the time and opportunity to consider how St. Mary’s can help you and your families continue to grow in faith and to come together as a community. To that end, for the upcoming year, St. Mary’s will be changing our focus to a more family-inclusive approach to Religious Education and Youth Groups. Given that many are isolating in family groups, and may be doing so again for the foreseeable future, we thought it best to deliver religious

our understand of your calling to be salt for the earth.
Thank you for the gift of Catholic education and our

Amen
Saints Peter and Paul
Feast Day: June 29
These apostles share a
feast as founders of the
church in Rome. Peter,
a Galilean fisherman
chosen by Christ as one
of the Twelve Apostles,
became the undisputed
leader of the fledgling
church after Pentecost.
Paul, a Pharisee and
Roman citizen who had
persecuted Christians,
became after his
dramatic conversion the
church’s greatest
missionary, its “apostle
of the gentiles.” By tradition both were martyred in Rome.
Their adventures are recounted in the Acts of the Apostles,
and letters from them are included in the New Testament.
(Continued from front cover) education in a way that allows the whole family to participate. We are updating our website and will have new content available soon to help your family on its faith journey. We will also be expanding the ways we communicate via social media and other tools such as Flocknote. The Family Faith Formation team is very aware that children are getting tired of being limited in their activities, so the team is planning to provide some fun activities for families to do this summer and into the school year. All of the activities will be family-friendly and completely optional. Some of the activities will also have prizes! In this time when we are “Alone Together” we hope that these activities can provide a window to remind you that you are part of the St. Mary’s community and that we are here for each other. Next week we will kick off a logo contest for the new Family Faith Formation team. You may want to get the artists in your family ready! The winning logo will receive a prize! Later in the summer, we will have other activities such as scavenger hunts and possibly a drive-in movie night. Stay tuned for more details. If you have a great idea for a family-friendly activity, please email the team at [email protected]. We would love to hear from you!
