*** A Note from the Pastor ***

My Brothers and Sisters,

If you had to pickup someone at the airport who you had never met before...how would you identify them? What about asking someone that has met them to describe them to you? During this Advent season, as we prepare for the ’arrival’ of Christ, who better to listen to than St. John the Baptist? It was John’s calling in life to identify the Christ to the world! At every Mass, we hear John’s words telling us that Jesus is present! “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!” This is no longer just bread, but it is now Christ Himself!

Today, John tells us that the best way to know God is to follow God. ‘Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand!’ Repent just means to regret what separates us from God, the sins in our lives that we commit. Another way to say it is that when we disobey God we become blind and only the holy can see the holy. May we use this Advent to repent and be ready!!! God Bless You!

NEW WAYS to setup Mass Intentions!!!

We are going DIGITAL! If you would like to submit Mass Intentions electronically...you may send them by Text (701-550-9966), email ([email protected]), or Facebook (Michael Wayne Slovak). I will send a reply that it was received, but it will not be fully submitted until you drop off the payment. A second way is by going to StMichaelDunseith.com and use the donation button to pay online by credit card...place in the notes the information for the Mass Intention. If you do this method, you MUST pay additional processing fee (around 50 cents)! I will also email a reply to let you know everything was received!

Sunday Reading Insights

“John’s preaching of repentance is not meant to be a fire-and-brimstone ultimatum by which he attempts to scare us into holiness. Rather, he preaches to prepare us for the One our heart has always been waiting for. ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ ‘The Kingdom of God means Christ Himself’ (CCC 2816). Thus, John preaches that ‘we might have hope’ in the One who will come ‘with the Holy Spirit and fire,’ who will tame what is savage in wild beasts, who will put a halt to harm and ruin, who will decide aright for the land’s afflicted. With the sure hope of all this, there is nothing more reasonable than repentance—that is, changing in us whatever keeps us from saying yes to it all. “
