Did you know?
As Catholics, we are accustomed to having religious objects blessed, which signifies the permanent dedication of an object for a sacred purpose. Canon Law reminds us that once a religious object is blessed for divine worship, it must be treated with reverence. If something blessed should break or is unusable, it must be destroyed. Never throw out what has been dedicated to God. As a general rule of thumb, anything that has been blessed should be burned (and the ashes buried) or simply buried. My heart breaks when I enter a thrift store and find Rosaries or Mass objects to be sold. Owners should have tried to find these objects new homes in a Church or disposed of them properly. Always cherish blessed religious objects, venerate with piety and when necessary, dispose of them properly. *Arlington Catholic Herald 2014

COMMUNITY EVENTS
Group Name Change
The parish group, Scripture Studies, have changed their name to “Catholic Studies Group”. This faithful group meets Thursdays at 1:00 pm in the Parish Center. Stop by sometime and grow in knowledge about the Catholic faith through prayer and studies. All are welcome. No pre-registration is necessary.
SCHEDULES
Chaplet of Divine Mercy Sundays at 10:00 am
In a vision to St. Maria Faustina in 1935, the Lord revealed a powerful prayer that He wanted everyone to say and He promised extraordinary graces to those who would recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Join us in honoring Our Lord’s wishes by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. Instructional booklets are available in the Church vestibule.
Craft & Coffee Wednesdays 1:30 pm
Craft & Coffee will meet every week at 1:30 pm in the St. Paul Room. All are welcome to stop in. We are looking for people who could teach a craft or make a unique item with the group. Email Katie if you wish to share your crafty talent, [email protected]
Liturgical Volunteer Needed
We are looking for people to volunteer during Mass as Greeters and Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion. Contact Pat, the Pastoral Associate, to set up a time for training, [email protected]
Campaign Envelopes
This weekend you may have noticed new envelopes in the Church pews. Contributions placed in the new green and white envelopes support our capital campaign ‘Voyage into the Future’. The general offertory envelopes will still be available for use.
Commitment Forms
Be sure to turn in completed Campaign Commitment Forms. You can bring them to the Parish Office or put them in the offertory baskets during Mass.
Email Fraud
Please be advised there is an email scam going around the Archdiocese and unfortunately St. Paul Church has been targeted. This email seemingly comes from a private email address of the Church staff, including Father David. Emails relating to church business will only be sent from an archdiocesan account. If you receive an email such as this, do not open it. Instead, call the Parish Office directly to inquire of the authenticity of such correspondence.
KC Valentine Dinner Dance February 15 at 5:30 pm
The Knight of Columbus will host a Valentine Dinner Dance at St. Mary Parish Center (1062 Charnelton, Eugene). Enjoy a delicious salmon dinner for only $30. Then dance the night away to the tunes of the Blue Rooster Band. Purchase tickets from the St. Paul Parish Office.
Mass Flowers
We are very grateful to the Women of St. Paul for supplying the Church with beautiful flowers twice a month. Your generosity is appreciated.
