Order of Service

Prelude

Lighting of the Christ Candle

Gathering Hymn: “Let all things now living”

1. Let all things now living a song of thanksgiving to God our Creator

triumphantly raise, who fashioned and made us, protected and stayed

us, by guiding us on to the end of our days. God’s banners are o’er

us; pure light goes before us, a pillar of fire shining forth in the night,

till shadows have vanished and darkness is banished, as forward we

travel from light into light.

2. By law God enforces: the stars in their courses and sun in its orbit

obediently shine. The hills and the mountains, the rivers and fountains,

the depths of the ocean proclaim God divine. We, too, should be

voicing our love and rejoicing; with glad adoration a song let us raise,

till all things now living unite in thanksgiving: to God in the highest,

hosanna and praise!

Sharing of the Peace of Christ

Prayer of Approach & The Lord’s Prayer – Rev. Allan Brouwer

Lords’ Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we

forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not in temptation, but

deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory

forever and ever. Amen.

Family/Children’s Time: – Rev. Allan Brouwer

Scripture: Psalm 103, 1 Corinthians 11: 23-26 – Kathy Smit

Hymn: “You are my all in all”

1. You are my strength when I am weak, You are the treasure that I

seek, You are my all in all; seeking You as a precious jewel, Lord, to

give up, I’d be a fool, You are my all in all.

Chorus

Jesus, Lamb of God, worthy is Your name; Jesus, Lamb of God, worthy is

your name.

2. Taking my sin, my cross, my shame, rising again, I bless Your name,

You are my all in all; when I fall down, You pick me up,

when I am dry, You fill my cup, You are my all in all.

Chorus

Sermon: “Reflection and Remembrance” – Rev. Allan Brouwer

The Sacrament of Holy Communion

1. There is a redeemer, Jesus, God’s own Son, precious Lamb of God,

Messiah, Holy One.

Chorus

Thank you, O my Father, for giving us your Son, and leaving your Spirit

till your work on earth is done.

2. Jesus my Redeemer, name above all names, precious Lamb of God,

Messiah, oh for sinners slain.

3. When I stand in glory, I will see his face, and there I’ll serve my King

forever in that holy place.

Words of Institution

Confession of Faith: Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in

Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified,

dead, and buried; He descended into hell.

The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven,

and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit; the Holy Catholic Church; the communion of

saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life

everlasting. Amen.

Drinking of the Cup

The Peace and Joy of the Lord Jesus Christ

Minister: The peace of joy of the Lord Jesus Christ

be with you all

Congregation: And also with you.

Ending Prayer

Closing Hymn: “God, whose giving knows no ending”

1. God, whose giving knows no ending, from your rich and endless

store: nature’s wonder, Jesus’ wisdom, costly cross, grave’s shattered

door; gifted by you, we turn to you, offering up ourselves in praise;

thankful songs shall rise forever, gracious donor of our days.

2. Skills and time are ours for pressing toward the goals of Christ, your

Son; all at peace in health and freedom, races joined, the church made

one. Now direct our daily labour, lest we strive for self alone; born with

talents, make us servants fit to answer at your throne.

3. Treasure too, you have entrusted, gain through powers your grace

conferred; ours to use for home and kindred, and to spread the gospel

word. Open wide our hands in sharing, as we heed Christ’s ageless call,

healing, teaching, and reclaiming, serving you by loving all.

Benediction – Rev. Allan Brouwer

“Benediction”

1. May the Lord bless you and may He keep you and make His face to

shine upon and when we part ways may you know His grace may

hope everlasting keep you strong.

2. To God be the glory forever and ever, to God be the praise of all men.

To God be the glory forever and ever, to God be the glory. Amen

To God be the glory forever and ever, to God be the praise of

all men. To God be the glory forever and ever, to God be the

glory. Amen

Postlude

Words for the weak If you start thinking to yourselves, “I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine!”—well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today. Deuteronomy 8: 17-18 (The Message)

In Need of Prayer If you or anyone you know is in need of prayer please contact the

church office 519-485-3390 for your requests to be heard and prayed upon by our Prayer Partners.
