Siembra las Semillas

Ayer sembré tomates, chilis y repollo (estoy escribiendo esto al final de Mayo) …alguien los comenzó de semillas. Hoy, si me da el empo, voy a sembrar semillas. Espero poder cosechar dentro de un mes, más o menos. El sembrar y cosechar dependen de mí … el nacer de las semillas y el crecimiento …estos dependen de

Dios. Como lo dice San Pablo en nuestra segunda lectura: “caminamos guiados por la fe, sin ver todavía …para recibir ..por lo que hemos hecho en esta vida.” Se trata de “el hacer.” San Francisco de Sales dijo que nos toca sembrar y cuidar …y luego buscar a Dios. Buscamos a Dios en: oración, Biblia, Misa, y poniendo atención. Hay una planta en la oficina parroquial que fue descuidada …obviamente no había recibido agua por un empo. Dimos cuenta, y ahora está recibiendo una atención de amor; quitamos las hojas secas, y ahora se ve muy bien. ¿Cómo está su vida de fe? Nuestro “buscar a Dios” es vital para que nuestra fe crezca y dé frutos. A veces necesitamos algo de podar, y luego a rezar como nos urge San Agus n: “orar como si todo depende de Dios y trabajar como si todo depende de nosotros. Es un trabajo de equipo.

Plant the Seeds

Yesterday I planted tomatoes, peppers and cabbage (I’m wri ng this at the end of May) …someone else had started them from seed. Today, if me allows, I’ll plant some things from seed. I’m hoping to be able to harvest in a month or so. The plan ng and harves ng are “up to me” …the sprou ng and growing …God will see to that. As St. Paul says to us in today’s second reading: “We walk by faith, not by sight ….so that each may receive …according to what he did.” It’s about “doing”. St. Francis de Sales said that our job is to plant and water …and then we turn to God. Turning to God is: prayer, Scripture, Mass, and paying a en on. There’s a flower on the office window sill that wasn’t receiving much a en on …and it obviously wasn’t ge ng any water. We caught it in me, and now the a en on is loving and gentle; the withering leaves have been pruned and its look’en good. How is your faith life looking? Our “turning to God” is vital for our faith to grow and flourish. At mes we might need a li le pruning, and that’s when we pray as St. Augus ne told us to: “pray as if all depended upon God and work as if all depended upon us.” It’s team work.

para Ministerio

¿Te gustaría conocer más acerca de tu fe? ¿Te gustaría aprender más acerca de las sagradas escrituras, la iglesia, la moral y otros temas importantes, y poder prepararte para el ministerio en la Iglesia, y todo en el idioma Español? Si la respuesta es “Si,” la Diócesis de Green Bay tiene un programa para ti! Discípulos de Cristo es un programa de tres años de formación que incluye clases, retiros, sesiones personales, talleres y seminarios. End of Fiscal Year

Next weekend (June 23-24) is the final weekend for collections during our current 2017-18 fiscal year.

Collections during the June 30-July 1 weekend will reach the bank during the 2018-19 fiscal year. Please do what

you can to support your parish! Although sometimes people may tend to forget about this during

the summer months, parish needs do not cease! Through May 2018, we were about $4,000 ahead of our

parish support goal for the first eleven months. With your help we can meet or exceed the budgeted annual

We are back to recycling

plastic caps!

If you would like to bring in plastic caps again for recycling, we have found a new program!

Caps are now being sent to “The Haven” in Manitowoc.

This organization assists homeless men. So far 4 loads of caps have been

sent there, weighed, and the men at “The Haven” receive half of the money. We do know the caps are being melted,

and will keep you informed of what is done with them in this

recycling effort. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SAVE
