Who am I? Who are you?

    Our scripture readings this Sunday answer this implied ques on. When someone asks, “Who are you?” how do you respond? Imagine if we were to respond in this manner: I am

William Alfred Hoffman, son of Dorothy and Alfred, grandson of Charles. I am a Catholic Chris an. I am a liturgist, teacher, preacher, spiritual companion and guide. I am a priest of the Diocese of Green Bay. I am a sinner in need of God’s mercy. Who are you?

Look and listen to our readings this Sunday for the answers to the implied ques on. Well, here are the answers: Israel is God’s servant, formed in his mother’s womb to be a light to the na ons. Paul is an apostle of Jesus Christ and a preacher who proclaims God’s call to holiness. John is the bap zer who points out the Lamb of God and tes fies that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is the Lamb and Son of God, existed before John, will come a er him, and ranks ahead of him.

Who are you? Bap sm has made each of us a servant of God; servants called to be light to our world. Each of us are disciples, and Bishop Ricken would say “Disciples on the Way”. We are called to be holy. Now, are you ready to answer the ques on “Who are you?”? Take some me, and then see if you can respond with the psalmist today.

Dentro de las lecturas de este domingo discernimos esta pregunta. ¿Cuando alguien pregunta “¿Quién es usted?” cómo responde? Imagínese responder de esta manera: Yo soy William Alfred Hoffman, hijo de Dorotea y

Alfredo, nieto de Charles. Yo soy un Cris ano Católico. Yo soy liturgista, maestro, predicador, compañero y guía espiritual. Yo soy sacerdote de la Diócesis de Green Bay. Yo soy un pecador en necesidad de la misericordia de Dios. Y usted, ¿quién es?

Busque y escuche las lecturas de este domingo para las respuestas a ésta pregunta. Pues, aquí les doy las respuestas: Israel es siervo de Dios, formado en el vientre de su madre para ser luz a las naciones. Pablo es apóstol de Jesucristo y un predi-cador que proclama la llamada de Dios a la san dad. Juan es el bau zador que nos iden fica el Cordero de Dios y da tes monio que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios. Jesús es el Cordero e Hijo de Dios, y exis ó antes de Juan y es más que Juan.

¿Quién es usted? El Bau smo nos ha hecho a cada uno de nosotros un siervo de Dios; siervos llamados a ser luz para nues-tro mundo. Somos discípulos, y el Obispo Ricken diría “Discípulos en el Camino”. Somos llamados a ser santos. Ahora ¿está listo para responder a la pregunta “¿Quién es usted?”? ¡Piénselo, y luego, a ver si su respuesta es como la del Salmo!
