THE MOST HOLY TRINITY - MAY 30, 2021

We believe in one God: Father, Son and Spirit. There is absolute individuality within the Trinity, for we believe that the Father is neither the Son nor the Spirit, nor is the Son the Father or the Spirit, nor is the Spirit the Father or the Son. Each person is distinct from the other two; none loses his personhood within the Trinity. There is absolute equality within the Trinity. No person has something that the others lack, for each is God and each is all being. None is more God; all are absolutely equal. There is absolute unity within the Trinity. God is one; the three persons are one. Father, Son and Spirit are three distinct persons, but they are persons in one God. Ours is a Trinitarian religion. The Trinity is the source of our faith as well as the goal of our lives. We long to live for all eternity the life of the Trinity. Meanwhile, the Trinity is for us the model towards which we strive as a community: free individuals with total equality in complete unity. By Gerald Darring

Let us trust in Him who has placed this
burden upon us. What we ourselves cannot
bear, let us bear with the help of Christ. For
He is all-powerful, and He tells us ‘My yoke is
easy and my burden light’.

THE MOST HOLY TRINITY - MAY 30, 2021
A Mass of Thanksgiving honoring Fr. John will be
celebrated on
Sunday, June 27th,
11:00 AM,
at St. Monica Church.
All are invited to attend. Please wear a mask and sit behind the blue tape.
Due to Covid restrictions we will not be able to have a reception, but you are welcome to send in or drop off cards or gifts. You can also bring them on June 27th and leave them on a secure table by the altar rail.
Our community has been fortunate to have Fr. John steer the latest developments of St. Monica-St. Thomas Parish during this chapter of his life of service. We are grateful for his efforts to improve our physical church and our spiritual lives. Father officiated at our wedding seven years ago, and he and Sr. Noreen were honored guests at our reception, both will always be part of our cherished memories. We wish Father John a retirement full of joy and contentment, and hope that we have the opportunity to pray together again in days to come.
Matthew and Mari Mahoney
