22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time Jubilee Year of Mercy Theme
Corporal Works of Mercy
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us to “invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind”...in short, He calls us to perform the Corporal Works of Mercy which is this month’s Jubilee Year of Mercy theme. Yet, in our own strength, it is difficult to overcome our own selfishness and be truly open to the needs of others. This week nurture your faith and draw closer to Christ with a CD/book/booklet from our Resource Display so Christ can empower you to recognize Him in those in need. These resources are free to all “seekers”. For those able to make a donation, we thank you for your generous donations that help to support the Mission of Stewardship: A Mission of Faith and Lighthouse Catholic Media to “feed hungry hearts”.
A Message from the St Vincent de Paul Society
Today, we hear Jesus say to us, “...when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
In the month of July, through your gifts, the Society of St Vincent de Paul was able to assist families, providing food and funds for
utilities and rent assistance. Thank You! Look in your mailbox for our new Guide Book & Directory. It should be arriving in the coming week. The advertisers helped provide this service at no cost to our congregation. We encourage you to think of them in the future as your needs arise. If you do not receive the Guide Book & Directory, additional copies are available in the Parish Office.

On behalf of the Knights of Columbus Pope Pius XII Council 4765, we would appreciate your support of our Annual Golf Outing, scheduled for Sept 10th. Proceeds from this event will go towards our chapter’s continuing efforts to support the church, the local parish, and the community. All sponsors will be recognized at the outing with a sign representing the name of the company or organization. These signs will be posted throughout the golf course at each hole. All sponsors will also have their names listed on the paperwork that each golfer will receive. The cost of sponsorship is $125 per hole. Hopefully, through our sponsor’s generous efforts, this year’s Golf Outing will prove to be
even more successful than last year’s event. We are extremely excited and anticipate it to be fun for all.
