A Stewardship Moment In today’s Gospel Jesus offers his parable about last chances. The fig tree will have one last chance to bear fruit before it is cut down and destroyed. Good stewards realize that, like the fig tree, they are endowed with God-given gifts that are meant to “bear fruit” for God and neighbor. God has legiti-mate expectations of them. They also realize they do not know how much time they have left before the gardener returns for an accounting of their fruitfulness. How are we using our God-given gifts? How might we use our gifts to bear more fruit? The answer requires some urgency.

Dear St Thomas Parishioners,
Peace of Christ! Greetings to all!
March 19th was the feast of St Joseph, the protector of Mary and foster father of Jesus. A thought came to me that we must recognize and pray for those families who have taken the challenge of adopting children. I sincerely appreciate those parents in our Parish who have adopted children, bringing to Church and taking care of their spiritual and phys-ical needs. May God bless them!
Spring, everybody is looking forward to spring. The official day of spring is 21st March. Spring has a spiritual meaning to us and to the nature. This is the season of fertility. Spring, the promise of new life; Easter, the promise of our resurrec-tion! Both events speak to us of the present, and both con-tain the seeds of the future. Spring looks to the fullness of growth and harvest and Easter looks fullness of our rebirth at the end of time. Thank you, Lord, for the spring, and for all your signs and promises that touch both time and eternity.
23rd March is my Ordination anniversary. I was ordained in 1983. By the grace of God I have completed 36 years. A priest's life today is not a bed of roses. Please keep me and all the priests in your prayers
We have a couple of projects coming up during this time. The most important is sealing, filling and repair of our parking lot. The Finance Committee has postponed the replacement the furnace in the hall for the next budget year due to lack of fund in the operational account to do both. We also need to raise a fund for celebrating our 150th anniversary of our Church. I appreciate your generous contributions, and Sun-day collections. Please continue your support for the needs of the parish. You make a difference.
God bless you
Father George Nangachi

Joanna Flora – Joanna is the daughter of Dave and Carol Flora. She is a junior at Greenfield Central High School. Joanna has 3 brothers: Greg, Ben and Joseph and 4 sisters Becka, Amanda, Jenny and Amy. Joanna was born in Greenfield. She
has visited Kentucky, Ohio, Maria Stein, North Carolina, and Virginia. Her hobbies are rollerblading, horses, ani-mals, food, and basketball. When asked what she likes best about St. Thomas, Joanna said “The community and the warm smiles everyone has on their faces. It feels like home.” Joanna has helped out around St. Thomas by ush-ering and she is the youth representative on the parish council. Her favorite foods are ham with mashed potatoes and pineapple. Joanna sees her role after Confirmation as spreading God’s word and being a missionary. Joanna would also like you to know that she loves to help people, explaining her faith to her friends, ANIMALS, and she is very thankful for her friends and family for never letting her lose hope during her sickness. After high school Joan-na plans to go to college or radiology school. Please keep Joanna and all our Confirmation candidates in your pray-ers as they journey towards reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Our Growing Catholic Community Continued...
Memories from Mary Weir
Mary remembers when the Church had all wood floors and a runner in the aisle, the kneelers were not padded, the offering basket had a really long handle and no rail-ing on the church steps and no ramp. She also remem-bers having to fast from midnight until time for Com-munion and receiving Communion only on the tongue and kneeling at the Communion rail. Ladies always had to have their head covered…Pat Garst forgot her hat one day and Father Spaulding told her to cover her head with her hanky. She remembers Carol Alfonte playing the organ for many years.
Join us for part of your Holy Week experience. There will be a brief prayer service at the start of the luncheon. The luncheon is a great opportunity to build community and prepare your
heart for Easter.
A $10 donation per person is re-quested
Monies collected by this luncheon will support the Crisis Office which provides assistance for rent, utilities,
transportation, medication expenses and identification for our neighbors in search of help and hope. The Crisis office helped over 36,000 people in need in 2018.
