fraternity followed by

certificates awarding ceremony to the graduates and high achievers of SZABIST Law School was held

on 12th April 2019. The chief guest of the occasion, Mr. Haider Waheed shared his valuable life lessons

for the aspiring lawyers in attendance.

ZAB MEDIA FESTIVAL

SZABIST celebrated treasure trove of media in Pakistan via films, documentary, design and photography based on the theme of ‘Discovering Pakistan’ from 2nd April to 6th April 2019. Prominent names such as Madam Sultana Siddiqui, Tina Sani, Osman Khalid Butt, Hareem Farooq, Mansha Pasha, Ali Rehman Khan and Ali Gul Pir shared their experiences.

21ST INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE “KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY: A WAY TO ENTREPRENEURIAL INCLUSIVE & SUSTAINED GROWTH”Aligned with Pakistan’s vision 2025, the conference was held on 23rd and 24th April 2019, with the objective to AchieveSustained, Entrepreneurial and Inclusive Growth through Knowledge based Economy.

ZAB EXTRAVAGANZAHeld on 10th April 2019, the event provided

a one-stop platform for students to learn about business

start-up opportunities.

Entrepreneurship Day was a contribution

towards the environment by students indulging in

“Green Marketing”.

WORLD EARTH DAY On 22nd April 2019, CSR SZABIST planted 1000 trees to emphasize the importance of achieving a just balance among the economic, social, and environmental needs of present and future generations.

MEEZAN BANK RECRUITMENT DRIVEOn 12th June 2019, EDC Department conducted an on campus Recruitment drive in which Regional Chief Manager (Credit Department) ”Meezan Bank” conducted Interviews.

CORPORATE EXCEL TRAINING/WORKSHOPOn 20th April 2019, “Corporate Excel

Training/Workshop” was conducted for students to enhance

their hard skills and to engage students in

the introduction to new tools of excel at

corporate level.

HYDERABAD CAMPUS

WINNER OF THE SHORT + SWEET THEATRE FESTIVAL 2019 SZABIST Dubai Campus team ‘Cindellala’ won the Short + Sweet Theatre Festival 2019 held in Dubai on 7th, 8th, and 9th March at The Junction (UAE). The festival had +100 plays involving over 400 actors, directors, writers and production teams from across the UAE.

VISIT TO SMART POLICE STATIONOn 12th May 2019, BS Computer Science

students visited the Smart Police Station. The students learned

how a site could operate completely

free from any human intervention by

application of software and computer

engineering.

on 30th April 2019. The event included guests

from IBM, Integration Xperts and Oracle.

SZABIST Student Support Services and Executive

Development Center (EDC), hosted the event at

Carlton Hotel on April 30th 2019. The event

highlighted the achievements of SZABIST

alumni over the years.

The SZABIST Business Research Proposal Competition (SBRPC) 3.0 provided a platform

for undergrad students from different universities to showcase their research proposal

on 27th April 2019.

On 23rd April 2019, SZABIST celebrated its association with books and gave tribute to the world of literature by decorating the library and engaging students in different activities.

SZABIST BUSINESS RESEARCH PROPOSALCOMPETITION (SBRPC) 3.0

SZABIST Marketing University Challenge - SMUC 5.0 was held on Saturday, 6th April 2019. This year the marketing theme was "Food and Restaurant industry".

The Institutional Research/Quality Enhancement

Cell (IR/QEC) of SZABIST, Karachi organized a Self-Review Visit of

Ph.D. and MS/Equivalent Programs at the campus on

26th June 2019.

PROGRAMS

On 28th June 2019, SZABIST joined hands with Gul Ahmed Textile Mills

for the “Million Trees by 2020” Campaign through a

Memorandum of Understanding.

ORIC has initiated the commercialization of ZAB-SOL products. A presentation on ZABDESK and ZABCMS is conducted for Universities and Companies such as Packaging, Meat One, Pakistan Sui Gas, CHASE Up and Awan Trading.

On 10th April 2019, Social Sciences Department took the initiative of creating

awareness on ‘Threats of Cyber Crime in 21st Century’. The students learned about the

issues and challenges they face in this digital age.

SZABIST SIGNED MOU WITHGUL AHMED TEXTILE MILLS

Mr. Nazir Ahmed Shaikh – Joined as Registrar on 15th April 2019 – Did Msc in Statistics from University of Sindh in 1978. He was previously at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University as Registrar and served in different institutions.

Dr. Aamir Firoze Shamsi – Joined as

Dean of Management

Sciences on 2nd May 2019 – He has a

PhD Degree in Management Sciences

from Hamdard University. He has been associated

with prominent institutes such as Bahria University, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University and PAFKIET as Member of Advance Studies, Head of

Department, and Member of Quality Management.

COMMERCIALIZATION OFZAB-SOL

SEMINAR ON ‘THREATS OFCYBER CRIME IN 21ST CENTURY’

Held on 4th May 2019, the flagship industrial conference

on Achieving Corporate Excellence (ACE) focused

on ‘Environment Sustainability’ and presented projects to

the panelists from Hinopak, PPL, Yamaha, BASF, WWF,

Arch Associates and Lucky Cement.
