Stadium Duty Manager

Manage and roster casual stadium team

Minimum 34 hours per week

Based at Mile End, core hours structure with flexibility

Netball SA is the State Sporting Organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout SA. It has responsibility for servicing its 30,000 members, the operations of Netball SA Stadium and the running of its elite team, the Adelaide Thunderbirds. Currently Netball SA is seeking to appoint the key role of Stadium Duty Manager. This role reports to the Stadium Operations Manager and is responsible for providing a safe, inviting and professional environment for people to play and watch Netball. The daily operational needs of the Stadium form the core duties of this role. The Stadium Duty Manager will be responsible for the presentation of the facility to all stadium patrons. You will be the first point of contact for the Stadium team and hold responsibility for the productivity and performance of the casual stadium team, your leadership and customer service skills are a vital element to success in this role. Key areas of responsibility in the role include:

Direct and lead Stadium team to ensure Stadium is run in a professional and safe manner with customer service as your main focus

Work with casual Duty Supervisors to ensure they are managing the Stadium team in a manner consistent with Stadium objectives

Set up and pack down of stadium for competition days and events

Order and maintain appropriate stock levels in line with Stadium needs and budget, oversees quarterly stock takes

Produce and distribute staff rosters in line with Stadium budget, control staffing needs in relation to training and uniform requirements

Presentation of retail and stadium environments

Induction and basic training of casual team members The position is near full-time in hours and will require regular out of hours and weekend work, in line with the needs of the stadium. Offering some flexibility in how hours may be structured; a typical roster is envisaged to be: Summer Season: Tuesday/Friday 3pm-10pm, Monday/Wednesday 9am-5pm, Saturday or Sunday 9am-5pm Winter Season: Monday/Tuesday 3pm-10pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm, Saturday 7am-6pm + 7 Thunderbirds home games

Ideally suiting those who possess previous customer service experience in working in a high volume facility within the sport/recreation or

hospitality sectors, it is expected the successful applicant will have strong communication skills, enjoy working in a team environment, thrive in a

Position Description Position title: Stadium Duty Manager Reports to: Stadium Operations Manager Date: October 2014 Department: Stadium Position Details: Permanent part-time position based at Netball SA Stadium Minimum 68 hours per fortnight Environment: Netball SA is the peak State Sporting Organisation for Netball in South Australia and is affiliated with Netball Australia. Netball is the leading women's participation sport and top team based sport in Australia. Netball SA is responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout South Australia and has the responsibility for servicing its 30,000 members, the operations of Netball SA Stadium and the running of its elite team, the Adelaide Thunderbirds. As a professional sporting organisation with extensive community reach, Netball SA is a key tool to enhance the reputation of the sport and to communicate news of significance to members, fans, supporters and the general public. The Adelaide Thunderbirds are a professional netball team competing in the ANZ Championships. The Thunderbirds are owned and operated by Netball SA and are a key strategic component of promoting and developing the game of Netball in South Australia. Position Scope: This role reports to the Stadium Operations Manager and is responsible for providing a safe, friendly and professional environment for people to play and watch Netball. Directs and leads Stadium team to ensure Stadium is run in a professional and safe manner with customer service as your primary focus

Works with casual Duty Supervisors to ensure they are managing the Stadium Team in a manner consistent with Stadium objectives

Manage staff in an efficient and cost effective manner

Managing stock and consumable in a cost effective manner

Set up and pack down of stadium for Competition days

Order and maintain appropriate stock levels in line with Stadium needs and budget, oversees quarterly stock takes including reporting on GST free sales

Produce and distribute staff rosters in line with Stadium budget, control staffing needs in relation to training and uniform requirements

Set up, pack down and manage functions and events for internal and external clients

Control of cash requirements and weekly balancing of cash floats

Oversees Food Safety requirements and Responsible Service of Alcohol within the Stadium

Presentation of retail and stadium environments

Induction and basic training of casual team members

Qualifications and Experience

Operational experience in a large sporting or hospitality venue

Customer service experience particularly in a high volume facility

Understanding of WHS system

Experience managing a medium sized team of casual staff members

Exposure to PosWork and EventPro (or similar software) essential

Strong Word and Excel skills essential

Food safety knowledge

Understanding of Liquor Licensing Laws and the ability to badged as a Responsible Person Personal Attributes

Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with a broad cross section of the community

Ability to work autonomously and able to operate as part of the Stadium team

Highly motivated and enthusiastic team player with the ability to work well under pressure and can resolve basic conflict situations

Ability to delegate tasks to achieve optimum levels of customer service and productivity, solution focused

Ability to act with professionalism, honesty and integrity at all times

Hours of Work:

The position is full-time and the nature of the role will require regular out of hours and weekend work, inline with the needs of the stadium. This role will be a balance of business hours and out of hours work dependant on stadium (seasonal) requirements. Special Requirements
